Refiblicans always present this BS "smoke screen" argument about spending when it comes to a budget that invests in America's future. Their (GOP) empty argument is not valid because every Government (Democratic or Refiblican) spends on a budget. When rich Coporate folks refuse to pay taxes behind dishonest or unethical loopoles......that is spending.....from America's collective budget by the absence of what shoud have been contributed to America's tax base. How else can we describe the corrupt sales of fraudelent CDO sub prime mortgage accounts by Wall Street? It's purely a matter of whether the spending will yield returns for ALL America....or the select rich few. The Refiblican ideology (which they'll never publicly admit) is to bankrupt the American Government and middle class, so as to implement their complete privitization of our country to institute a "serf" system for rich and poor with no in between........to control ALL wealth and properity for themselves.

The Dems had better what happened in 1994, after the assault weapons ban. After the next election it went to the Repubs! Or have they forgotten? None of the constitution and ALL the amendments are never to be tampered with by ANYONE, for any reason. These are sacred words
Now they think they can try this again, but now, the voters are watching carefully. Any attempt to revise the 2nd amendment or any other amendments will give the Repubs a much better chance to regain some more power.

The GOP needs to embrace social issues facing the country and stop trying to dismiss it. Democrats will hold power until 2016. With Obama gone, Blacks & Hispanics will be siphoned off because of the gay marriage issue. Most blue dogs will go to the Republican party & there will be more liberal republicans in the Northeast. It is impossible for the Democrats to hold power for 50 years.

even if this is so-it won't be the same democratic party it will perhaps be very close to center with the ability to be not only inclusive but more importantly responsive to the needs of the people – those who work and pay taxes and if they are lucky own a home!
