Bill Clinton: Cheney should stick to target practice

HERNDON, Virginia (CNN) – Bill Clinton jokingly laughed off a question Wednesday about former Vice President Dick Cheney and his recent claims that the country is less safe under the Obama administration.

"I wish him well," Clinton told CNN while greeting voters after a campaign stop with Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe. "It's over," he added, apparently a reference to the Bush administration.

"But I do hope he gets some more target practice before he goes out again," Clinton said with a grin before moving along the ropeline.

The former president was alluding, of course, to Cheney's infamous 2006 hunting accident in which he mistakenly fired birdshot into the face of a campaign contributor during a South Texas quail hunt.

Wow, Joe. Really? The most "shamed" president? Maybe if someone offered 'W' some extramarital "advice" while he was in office he'd be impeached, too.

    You libs are hysterical....

You demand Cheney be questioned about his activities in the last administration....

But when he comes out and speaks about the interrogation memos or answers his critics – you want him to shut-up.

    Which is it, Libs??

Hey Joe (5:13), funny how the "most shamed president" in your history is a guy who had an affair... not the guy who authorized torture, started a war by lying to the US people, is the most hated person on the planet and who continues to be viewed as everything wrong with the US. Typical repug logic. You guys are an embarrasment to your country – keep it up!

I just don't get it. If a former VP – a Republican – comments about anything a sitting Democrat says or does, he's "out of line"., But we can take a total failure of a Democratic President like Carter or an insignificant one like Clinton – both of whom teed off on Bush and we're supposed to pay homage to their comments as former Presidents.

What HYPOCRITES!!! And the answer is NO. They are even more inept and incompetent as ex-Presidents than they were as Presidents. You never heard Reagan, Bush 1 say anything about Clinton when he was in office. No, ex-Dems have mouths, ex- Repubs have dignity and class out of respect for the office.

You Dems – if you weren't so full of yourselves, you'd be important.

Uhh, is this news worthy enough for CNN. I mean you are the leader are you not.
These kinds of headlines are the reason I go to CNN.com, and Foxnews.com both. Because somewhere in the middle is the truth, and the rest is just crap.

What is it that you Conservative Repugs didn't care for with the Clinton Administration? Was it the peace or the prosperity?

You people don't have a leg to stand on, your party not only wrecked our country but the world...open your eyes and shut your mouth. You people blew it big time. Now if you don't want to help then just get the hell out of the way

Re-party of No: No Ideas, No plans, Nothing new...just a bunch of tired old white racists living in the past–get over it and get away

Wish him well? Do we wish Osama Bin Laden well? Because Cheney did far more damage to our country then Bin Laden ever did. That's not my opinion, that's a fact. Bin Laden killed 3000 American's. Dick Cheney sent 4000 plus of our bravest Americans to die so that he could make billions. This comment prob wont be posted because the media doesn't like talking about the truth, but as long as you read it, yes YOU, I'm good.

He's not speaking about the memos, he's covering his backside and praying the Country gets attacked again so he can say he was right.

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy,,,,, such a moron. Just a typical befuddled, hate filled Republican.

Are you one of the few Republicans still in existence in today's America? Could I get your autograph? I might not get another opportunity!

Perhaps they should store your DNA as an endangered species. As science progresses you might have a shot (since religion appears to be out of the way for advancement for at least the next 8 years).
