Bill Clinton: Cheney should stick to target practice

HERNDON, Virginia (CNN) - Bill Clinton jokingly laughed off a question Wednesday about former Vice President Dick Cheney and his recent claims that the country is less safe under the Obama administration.

"I wish him well," Clinton told CNN while greeting voters after a campaign stop with Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe. "It's over," he added, apparently a reference to the Bush administration.

"But I do hope he gets some more target practice before he goes out again," Clinton said with a grin before moving along the ropeline.

The former president was alluding, of course, to Cheney's infamous 2006 hunting accident in which he mistakenly fired birdshot into the face of a campaign contributor during a South Texas quail hunt.

Gerda, both President Carter and VP Gore did criticize other administrations, that is true. But the major difference is that both criticized many many years after they were out of office. What Cheney is doing is totally unheard of in American politics and is totally UN American.

Bill Clinton should be in Jail for lying to a federal judge and the PIG's (People in gutter) in congress didn't have enought guts to throw him in jail with the other lyers from his cabinet. These people, THE PIG's will not be happy until we get in the gutter with them. The people will stand up and soon or later they will get rid of all the PIG's in Congress. that happens to be most of them.
A broke electrican in calif because the PIG's running the country have spent us into the 1970's again inflaction at 21% you watch

Hey, lets not muzzle Dick Cheney. He is killing off the Republican Party at a record rate. Leave him alone and in about one year, there won't be any Repubs left except him and Rush. They're the best thing that ever happened to the Democrat Party. He is also just trying to set up a defense to stay out of jail where he belongs and if pursued will end up in prison for war crimes .

    You libs are hysterical….

You demand Cheney be questioned about his activities in the last administration….

But when he comes out and speaks about the interrogation memos or answers his critics – you want him to shut-up.

    Which is it, Libs??

We want him on trial for war crimes, and disrespecting our constituition! Th constituition of the USA is bigger and greater than any one man or administrations!

Slice and dice, way to go Bill Clinton and I so agree. Dick Cheney, his wife and daughter all need to do some target practice starting at home. Something ain't right about this family but one day we'll find out the real truth about Cheney's wife as she wrote in her book and got so angry when asked about it. Hmmm and maybe that has a lot to do with Cheney's anger and evil ways.

Typical Bill Clinton. At least Cheney knows how to protect our nation. Bill Clinton was busy with something else IN the white house while he
should have been watching the country. Clinton seems like he's forgotten about his shame.

It's the them vs. us mentallity is what is wrong with the two party system in America. I thought it is WE THE PEOPLE that they are soppossed to SERVE ! It seems like they think this is a game in witch you try to defeat the enemy by way of oneliners & promises that are warm & fuzzy but are not reality. The more I think about it Campain finace reform is not enough to reign in these people. Kick them all out and let UPS run the country.

It amazes me how bush and cheney attempt to rewrite history. Cheney's claims that we are less safe with President Obama is way off target. Who was in office on 9/11/01? Which president spent most of 2001 vacationing on his ranch in Texas? Who spent the next 7 years creating more enemies than we had before 2001? Look inward cheney!

Good one, Mr. Clinton! Only Bill could some up the last administration and Mr. Chenye's demise and accomplishments, in passing.

Maybe Chenye should take some lessons, he could cut back on some of his appearances.

President Clinton was too kind. Cheney doesn't deserve anyone's well wishes. Cheney is a despicable human being. His only vested interest in the war was that of Halliburton. The midnight rendezvous with his Enron buddies should have ended his career there and then.

Just go away, Dick and take Rush Limpba with you. You like having having a nasty wad of gum on the bottom of our shoes!
