Bill Clinton is campaigning in Virginia for his friend Terry McAuliffe.

(CNN) – Bill Clinton is happy he can still dabble in the world of politics, even if Hillary Clinton can't.

Clinton said as much while campaigning in Norfolk on Thursday for his friend Terry McAuliffe, who is seeking the Virginia governorship.

"All of you know that we're very close friends," Clinton said of McAuliffe before the Virginia crowd. "All of you know that he did a great deal for me and our family."

"Hillary and I love him," Clinton continued. "And now that President Obama has given her a job that requires that she not ever participate in politics as long as she's Secretary of State, I'm the only one that can say that we love him."

Hilary isn't in politics anymore because she's Secretary of State? Just like Pelosi wasn't pretending to Secretary of State during Rice's last 2 years? Right.

The two go hand-in-hand. (And the two I'm referring to aren't the Secretary of State title and politics. It happens to be two power-hungry women and sticking their noses where they aren't supposed to be.)

well I'd rather have him dabble in politics than dabbling in interns like he used to do.

Longhorn7   May 14th, 2009 3:44 pm ET

No freedom of speech here on this sight. A usual my comments are awaiting moderation which never get moderatored. Thanks Communist CNN.

Vic of New York   May 14th, 2009 3:41 pm ET

Unfortunately I can't agree with Bill Clinton. In my mind Terry McAuliffe is the "Rush Limbaugh" of the Democratic Party. This is not an individual I would vote for.

My advise? Look at the slate of candidates, and if there is someone better suited – someone of character who is for the PEOPLE of Virginia – vote for that person regardless of Party.

McAuliffe is a parasite whose public relations firm has represented the worst of reprehensible companies and individuals. This character will line his pockets with contributions from vested interests and use his office as a mouthpiece for the highest bidder. He makes Rod Blagojavich seem honest.

Virginians beware.

I used to like CNN but not anymore!   May 14th, 2009 3:38 pm ET

My question is, How do idiots like phoenix 86 and Mississippi Mike get their retarded comments posted when every comment I try to post gets condemned to moderation limbo? Is CNN trying to target the lowest common denominator for their fan club or what?

Welcome back Mr. President. You have been missed though I am pleased with our new president so far...and I didn't even vote for him :)

awaitingliberalizationbyCNN   May 14th, 2009 3:27 pm ET

A red letter day for CNN, the lib idiohaters have an article knocking Palin, one deriding Cheney, one deriding Limbaugh and happy good times about Clinton and gives Pelosi another chance to lie. But there certainly is no bias at CNN. How is that Charlie Rangel investigation going?

Peter E   May 14th, 2009 3:26 pm ET

Bill needs to STFU! He has done more damage to his party, and the country in general with his big mouth than with all of his corporate-hugging, deregulating, recession-starting policies put together!

TCM   May 14th, 2009 3:26 pm ET

haha...I love the way CNN won't put a link for comments on the Pelosi screw-up....they just publish the article and try desperately to side with her blaming Bush....YOU KNEW ABOUT IT!

Nero   May 14th, 2009 3:17 pm ET

I hope you stay in Mississippi Mike, a rotten State for rotten people.

Joe   May 14th, 2009 3:11 pm ET

Hey Bill. Why don't you come pay my mortgage for me. You allowed janitors to get $300,000 loans and now I'm paying for it. You ignored terrorism. And you lied to the country. Please stay away from politics.

Pay Back Time for Bill Clinton!!! Hillary will have to stay mum on politics till 2016. Then she can run for the Presidency of the United States!

Hillary 2016!

LIP   May 14th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

Back in the 60's, Playboy magazine ran a story titled Deny, Deny, Deny. It was what you were to say if confronted with infedelity.
Bill must have read the story and likewise, Nancy (still in denial) Pelosi must have been looking over his shoulder.

YBM   May 14th, 2009 2:41 pm ET

Well, it has been scientifically proven that genetically black people are of lesser intelligence than white people. (true, look it up). I guess that explains the way the antichrist is doing things. i.e. choosing tax evaders as cabinet members, choosing Hillary and a lot of other clintonese as cabinet members..........

LIP   May 14th, 2009 2:40 pm ET

Come on CNN...allow us to weigh in on Nancy (still in denial) Pelosi

And here we are 20 years later and it's the GOP that's wearing a "stained dress" (to euphamize their ideology)...LOL

Tired old Bill   May 14th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

Thank God we elected Obama instead of Hillary – this period we're going through is painful but at least we'll see progress in the end, instead of going in circles like we did during the Clinton era (although it was still 50x better than the Bush era)

Saad   May 14th, 2009 2:16 pm ET

You are awesome Bill!!! You really are. It's that simple.

YBM   May 14th, 2009 2:14 pm ET

RealityKing   May 14th, 2009 1:56 pm ET

At this point, Bill's just glad to be asked anything from the progressive media. Knowing that only softballs will be tossed his way do to his complete lack of morals. A good match with todays state run media.

When are you guys getting a bailout anyways??

Interesting to see that the whiny right wingers who spewed on every topic during the election have been replaced by a new set of whiny right wingers who spew on every topic and prove they know nothing about it.

For all his faults–and God knows, Bill has a bunch-he is still far and away the smartest politician of this generation. What do the right wingers give us? More ACORN BS. Give it up, the only arrest for voter fraud in the last election was a Republican operative here in California.

Mr. President, may I compliment you on so effectively removing a parasite from the Democratic party by making her Secretary of State. Now may I suggest to you that you treat her husband's comments as if she had said them, and deal with her accordingly.

Bill Clinton is a smart man who nearly balanced the budget during his presidency. It demeans him to get into a cat fight with Dick Cheney. Particularly when the issue is torture. During the Clinton administration we (he) knowingly sent terrorists to Egypt and other countries (Rendition) to be tortured to gain information. Politically/publically he can disagree with Cheney on this point however as a practical matter Bill Clinton, current attorney General Eric Holder and even Nancy Pelosi all have dirty hands with respect to torture. War and terrorism sucks but winning is everything and even though I don't like torture, The Bush administration kept us safe….I'd just let these "borderline" torture issues go. move on!….or..ah.. moveon.org. hehehe

phoenix86 – WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM WITH ACORN??? In the case you only watch FAUX NEWS and listen to Rush Limbaugh, this whole ACORN business started when they (ACORN) found out that some of the people they paid to do the work they're supposed to do were crooks and, since they paid them with donated money (part of it Federal), they had to call the FBI and tell them what happened. SO THEY WENT AFTER THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES AND NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!!

Mississippi Mike, you and your friends need to go back to your trailers and leave the job of bringing this country into modern times to us: the well educated, high cheekboned liberal elite. I'd love to stay and chit chat with you Nascar loving nincompoops, but I have to pour another glass of pinot noir (that's wine, you knuckleheads), crank up some Erik Satie on my vintage high end audio system, make love to my stunningly attractive, slim European wife and then get in my prius and drive to the weekly meeting of the sinister socialist conspiracy. Have a nice day!

Hillary is just a fawn for Obama; he has stripped her of any clout as Secretary of State...she has no power whatsoever. I am just wondering (if Hillary and Bill are so intelligent) when they are going to come out of denial and realized that Obama has stiffled Hillary. It is so pathetic to see Hillary in her role.
