Prosecutor to question Karl Rove on Friday

Karl Rove, a former aide to President George W. Bush, will be interviewed about the firing of several U.S. attorneys in 2006, a source tells CNN.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Former Bush administration official Karl Rove is scheduled to be interviewed Friday about why a number of U.S. attorneys were fired in 2006, according to an attorney in private practice familiar with the
case.

Rove will be questioned by Nora Dannehy, a Connecticut prosecutor who was appointed last year to lead an investigation into whether any Bush administration officials broke any laws in connection with the dismissals.

A spokesman for Dannehy would not comment when asked whether a meeting is scheduled with Rove.

Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, would not comment on whether his client will be interviewed Friday. But he told CNN, "Rove has said since Ms. Dannehy was appointed that he would cooperate fully with her investigation."

A Justice Department report last year found the firings of some U.S. attorneys were influenced by political considerations.

Why not bring up Bill Clinton. He fired 93 US Attorney's, Bush only fired 8.

this is nice and all but where are the articles about Pelosi and her "being lied to" that allow comments? Seems like CNN is a little tilted towards the left.

Let's hear if she's either been lied to or just stupid. My bet is a combination of the two.

WIth any lucky she'll be driven from office or at least from any semblance of power.

    "Will there be waterboarding involved?"

According to Cheney, et al, that's the only way to get the whole truth.

Why is he so worried about what Nancy Pelosi knew or didn't know, it doesn't matter because she didn't orchestrate the war or lie to get us into war. WHY ISN"T ROVE IN PRISON???

There wasn't anything illegal done. These lawyers refused to march to the orders of the President, their boss, and were let go because of it. Clinton did it on a much larger scale with no inquiries and I'm sure Obama will do the same.

Another Democratic with hunt. I thought this was over. It's been proven time and time again that Bush did exactly the same thing Clinton did, but somehow there must have been a law broken. Good grief. Why don't you do what's best for the country, dumb liberals, instead of going after Republican for everything you think you can lie and make stick.

Has anyone explained to our dear Mr. Rove that he has to tell the truth this time? Has he received the briefing on lying under oath, and there is no presidential pardon to save him this time?

Oh, the thought of him wearing a prison jumpsuit, picking up garbage on the highway makes me smile....good luck there, chubby: take your lumps like a man.

Definately was a political move on firings of U.S. Attorneys! Carl Rove, the dirty trickster, has gotten away with too much for too long.

CNN, NY Times, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, etc...why don't you spend some time investigating some real current issues like why does Nancy Pelosi keep lying about "what she knew and when she knew it" on the torture issue?

You keep hounding the former Bush administration people and now Obama is taking the same tact as Bush did on the detainees, the wars, etc.

All your articles are so biased against the right and promote and push the left...but oh well, everyone knows that so why is it a surprise?
