Huckabee writes poem attacking Pelosi

Huckabee is going after Pelosi over the CIA controversy.
Huckabee is going after Pelosi over the CIA controversy.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Mike Huckabee has apparently found his muse: Nancy Pelosi.

Huckabee penned a poem about the House speaker, who has come under fire from the GOP for accusing the CIA of lying to her in intelligence briefings about the agency’s use of harsh interrogation techniques.

The seven-stanza poem, found on the former presidential candidate’s Web site, is called “Fancy Nancy.”

Huckabee calls Pelosi a “ruthless politician” and tweaks the San Franscisco Democrat for her use of a military plane for travel back to her district.

But the heart of the poem is about Pelosi's CIA he-said-she-said:

She sat in briefings and knew about enhanced interrogation; But claims she wasn't there, and can't give an explanation.

She disparages the CIA and says they are a bunch of liars; Even the press aren't buying it and they're stoking their fires.

Wow. So this guy's "plans" as a potential U.S. President would be to write poems and question the need for Freedom of the Press? Wow. What a patriotic guy. He may be the most cuddly conservative, but this far right winger is a loon.

Gads, the ObstructiPubs have nothing else to talk about.

They don't help our country solve any of its problems. Total silence there.

But they rant on and on about B.S. just to stay in the news.

    I am embarrassed for them.

Huckabee is better at writing poems than he is a politician. I think he found his true niche!

As I recall Jesus had something to say about those who call other people names. I guess that we can call Huckaby all sort sof things based on the facts about his military service. We can also discuss the fact he never completed seminary.

And why shouldn't we question the CIA? They admitted giving out bad info on Bob Graham's briefings - it was physically impossible they were right and remember the "slam dunk" WMD?

I'm no fan of Nancy Pelosi, but this is totally juvenile. Thank God this imbecile didn't get anywhere close to the Republican nomination or the presidency.

Where's the poem about Bush and Cheney who ordered the torture? This is exactly why Republicans are the laughing stock of this great country. We see the hypocrisy. So don't blame the people who are responsible for the wrong act. Just try and deflect attention away from those responsible. We, the American people, are a lot smarter than that, Huckabee.

    OH NO – A POEM!

    How quaint (and juvenile)!

How does Mike Huckabee (the "Christian" preacher) stand on the issue of his party's leaders authorizing and committing the torturing of other human beings?

    Hey Mike, Jesus was tortured!

Huckabee needs to go away, go away for good in his dark hole cave. Where he hides his tail, away on that Right Wing News Network. Called Fox News, the so call fair and balance news network, thats only fair and balance for Republicans.

The republicans are trying to shift the discussion. So far they're doing a good job of it. But it ultimately comes down to who authorized the torture and all the fingers point towards Cheney. Huckabee may want to keep his comments to himself until all the facts come out because if what the Speaker is saying is true, all of the right wing Pelosi bashers are going to be really embarresed.

I cannot see that the world is any better because Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House. Democrats need to find another Speaker.

The American people have a right to know who is the liar, the House Speaker or the CIA,we can not tolerate either one of the lying the truth needs to be known.

Appreciate the poetry. If this was a republican (remember Trent Lott and his offense) he would have been forced to resign. That's the difference between Republicans and Democrats. When a Republican is caught dirty or even dingy, they resign, Democrats blame it on somebody, say they are being persecuted because (sex, race, religion, etc.) and stay in office. Eg. Nancy Pelosi, William Jefferson, Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Teddy Kennedy and the list goes on.

I am a life long Democrate, but I agree with those who want Pelosi out if she lied. I am so tired of the lies and hate coming from Washington. Our politians from all sides spend to much time bashing each other. If she lied she should be gone. Like Obama I do not want to look back the work needed is to important for that distraction. However, this will not go away until it is resolved. Let's get it all out there and know everything. If we do that I would imagin you won't find to many politians ready to continue the bashing. They all know what happened and many, I am sure, have broken laws. I am poisitve that Cheney will return to his "undisclosed" location.

How shrewd of the Republicans...Newt feels if Pelosi lied she can no longer be our Speaker. However, we had an administration of a President and Vice President that tortured but that is okay? Where is the logic? We tortured and started a war that never needed to be started. They conned the American people. Where were the Republicans then?

Pelosi's problem is she's a typical phony elitist socialite. She tries to act like she's tied to a constant high road, when in fact she's still a politician, and agrees that in some situations you have to do things. The fact that she won't come forth and take some of the downfall with the Bush administration for harsh interrogations is a violation of Obama's pledge for transparency and accountability. The Obama administration will soon have no choice but to make Pelosi a sacrificial lamb, the same way that the Bush admin had to do to Rumsfeld, which ironically was Pelosi's championed project.

  24. This is simple folks

    This is real simple folks.

    1. If the CIA lied to Congress, it is criminal. Pelosi needs to bring forth her evidence to corroborate and we should prosecute all of these people in the CIA, and we cannot have the intelligence community lying to Congress. It is dangerous, and it is unlawful

    2. If Pelosi is lying, she needs to step down and apologize, and then she needs to be prosecuted for lying.

One or the other folks. There is no middle ground here.
