(CNN) - FBI Director Robert Mueller told members of the House Wednesday that it is a crime to lie to Congress, but said the bureau is not investigating the charge by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that the CIA misled her.
In response to questions from California Rep. Darrell Issa, ranking Republican on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Mueller said procedures require Congress to refer requests for an investigation to the Justice Department. If it is determined by Justice officials that a basis exists for an investigation, the FBI would then be asked to look into the matter. When Issa said he has standing to ask for such an investigation, Mueller said he would pass the request on to the Justice Department.

when she admits that her aides were present at these meetings and she says that they informed her that waterboarding was being used then this constitutes her being briefed..... personally i hope that the CIA hammers her with much more than just these documents that show she is a liar.... if she wanted direct information she should have been there in person instead of shopping at macy's or what ever these democrats do........

Fine. Investigate Pelosi for lying to Congress. But, then I want an investigation into Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al who lied to Congress about so many things during W's 8 years in power. Furthermore, I want Gingrich investigated, since he clearly and repeatedly lied to Congress when he was Speaker.

Are we democrats really so blind and entrenched that we can't see what is right before our eyes?? Pelosi has not been truthful and was trying to protect herself, not the country – the whole world was privy to her recent 'gaffe'!! It makes all of us look rather stupid to keep trying to deflect blame and responsiblility to someone in the Republican party everytime a mistake is made. This seems to be happening more and more and does nothing for the integrity of the Democrat party.

If Mueller and the CIA are not investigating means to me that the CIA did lie to Pelosi and therefore they, Bush and Cheney all shoud be investigated by Congress to the fullest extent possible.
