WASHINGTON (CNN) – Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Beirut, Lebanon on Friday and meet with local officials during his visit, the White House confirmed Thursday.

Biden will meet with President Michel Sleiman, Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, and Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri on Friday. The vice president will also talk with Defense Minister Elias Murrmake and make an announcement on military assistance to Lebanon's armed forces.

VP Biden brings back diplomacy and openness to the Vice President's job rather than sitting in a White House office hiding away plotting how he can circumvent the Constitution and International Law and plotting an unnecessary invasion for his buddies at Haliburton.

That invasion which was falsely launched, poorly planned and executed and a diversion from those really respionsible for 911 is what Cheney conveniently overlooks. He is a liar and a coward!

Nice if this were a one way ticket and he would have to work his way back to the country. That should take about four years, sounds about right.

@ JLS,

Actually – Hillary is the one who bravely faced "sniper fire" when the 12 year old girl met her on the tarmac to delivery flowers.

Joe is known for heading into hostile territory and having his chopper "forced down". Granted it was just a weather related issue and John Kerry laughs at Biden's inability to tell the simple truth.

I'm hoping Joe forgoes military transport and tries taking Am-Trak back to the US.

Maybe for a photo op he can go with the leader of a terrorist group for lunch at a local falaffel stand.

Joe Biden, embarassing Obama at every chance.

So what, the only Vice president that used or utilized the "Secret Bunker" is that idiot "CHENEY", THE COWARD"//////// the ugly duckett
the "Evil one" the scary one. He lived in that "Bunker" for 8 years, was forced to move out, Americans do a favor for america, "Let him have it rent free with stipilations, we don't want to see your face again"

JLS   May 21st, 2009 5:24 pm ET

Hey Sniffit, Hopefully Joe will not try to say he was under sniper fire when he lands...

D. Tree   May 21st, 2009 5:23 pm ET

We have a President, Vice President, and Secretary of State traveling all over the world. At any given moment, one of them is in a hot spot showing real leadership. It feels great to see America leading again. :-)

phoenix86   May 21st, 2009 5:23 pm ET

Can't wait for Joe to come back and relate his story about how he dodged sniper fire, missle attacks, and the stray pedestrian.

Then again, I once heard that "nobody messes with Joe:"

Mississippi Mike   May 21st, 2009 5:21 pm ET

Joe should take a trip to the Southern border. I hear it's nice this time of year and that Hezbollah have a lot of neat caves to explore.

Teleprompter of the U.S.   May 21st, 2009 5:19 pm ET

Dear Mr. VP, please don't make any ethnic jokes while there. Please don't say anything stupid.

What am I saying??? Do they have a muzzle he can wear?

Pat F   May 21st, 2009 5:14 pm ET

Dear Joe Biden: Keep quiet, smile a lot, eat what you're given, and try really hard not to be a news item for some embarassing gaffe that makes us all freak out because you're one heart beat from the presidency.

Hammer   May 21st, 2009 5:13 pm ET

Obama can sent him to the far corners of the world but he will still stick his foot in his mouth.

Kim- GA   May 21st, 2009 5:11 pm ET

Advice to Biden. Dont talk just listen.

Sniffit   May 21st, 2009 4:58 pm ET

@ JLS, who said "And this is newsworthy, how???"

Ummm, he's the VP and is meeting with the leaders of a foreign nation? Boy you people are bitter. I swear the only reason we're not bailing out the tissues industry is because of the GOP.

Uncle Jimbo   May 21st, 2009 4:58 pm ET

Is it fantastic or what – to see that we once again have an administration that believes in meaningful dialog with fellow Nations around the world, instead of the my way or the highway, with us or against us at the barrel of a gun type of diplomacy.
It is a new day for America again.
Have a good trip Mr. Vice President.

dominican mama 4 Obama   May 21st, 2009 4:57 pm ET

Bye Joe. Come home safe.

Sniffit   May 21st, 2009 4:57 pm ET

@ TCM, who said "Pssst….Joe, when you're over there, don't tell them about your secret bunker."

No need...the GOPers already leaked it.

Gimme a Break   May 21st, 2009 4:53 pm ET

I love Joe, I really do, but diplomatic material he is NOT. Just don't try to make any jokes, Mr. Vice President. We don't need a third war on our hands.

Bill   May 21st, 2009 4:46 pm ET

Good luck, Joe. Please try to keep your foot away from your mouth.

TCM   May 21st, 2009 4:43 pm ET

Pssst....Joe, when you're over there, don't tell them about your secret bunker.
