(CNN) – In the ongoing war of words between Rush Limbaugh and Colin Powell, top Bush strategist Karl Rove is siding with the popular talk radio host.
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Rove said Limbaugh would edge out the former secretary of state if he "had to pick between the two."
Rove's comments come after a back-and-forth between Limbaugh and Powell, during which both have charged the other is hurting the GOP's chances of success in the future.
Discussing divisions over the direction of the party in the wake of its losses in the 2006 midterm elections and 2008 presidential election, Powell said the party should expand its base.
"I have always felt that the Republican Party should be more inclusive than it generally has been over the years and I believe that we need a strong Republican Party that is not just anchored in the base but has built on the base to include more individuals," he told "Face the Nation."
Ultimately, Rove said, the debate between Limbaugh and Powell is a "false" one because neither is a candidate for public office.
"The real debate takes place out there in the real world by people getting out there and encouraging the kind of candidates who represent their vision for the party," Rove said.

I might add that Colin Powell is a Democrat by Association. He's the one that publicly stood up for Barrack Hussein Obama. Just like Arlein Specter is not a Republican, I don't think of Colin Powell as a Republican.
Collin Powell can say what he wants, but judgement is based on his performance. It is unlike any Republican I know.

In perhaps 30 years, historians studying the demise of the Republican party will come to the conclusion that Karl Rove's politics of personal destruction and hate is the common thread that hastened the downfall of a once mighty political party.

It is really discouraging that someone as decorated as Colin Powell has to be defended or explained against a windbag like Rush Limbaugh, Karl Rove or anyone. Their egos are way too large to even consider the fact they, Limbaugh and Rove, are loud mouthed, ridiculous and extremely tiresome. It is too bad the strategy, just ignore them and they will go away, never really works, nor does the communication of 'enough already'. This bickering is better left in the school yard, there is no purpose of it other than to stay in the news or to simply irritate almost everyone who sees it.

Anything that comes out of Rove's mouth is false because he is simply not human. Before Lee Atwater died, he felt remorse for all the mean-spirited shenanigans when running Father Bush's presidential campaign. Rove, who is the essence of everythng that is wrong in politics will never feel remorse because he is without heart, soul, and compassion. He's probably bitter because he looks like a bird.
Powell is more man than Limbaugh, Rove, and Cheney combined.

Imagine that Karl Rowe picking Limpbought over Powell. This being Memorial day where we honor men who have served; remember that Cheney,Limbaugh and Rove didn't serve, didn't defend that freedom they talk about. Colin Powell served with honor and was wounded.
This country is about doers not talkers. The motto "Better Dead than Right" should refer to the Republicans who can't see beyond their narrow point of view and condemn anyone who does. They better settle their differences 2010 is next year!
All of these politically irrelevant guys are just arguing over who is most politically irrelevant.
General Powell should take this as a compliment.
Limbaugh and Rove are about ignorance and the people that follow ignorance. People who have grown up as hate mongers. People who don't have any gifts at alll for love, care and concern. They are pathetic little people with an adgenda filled with scare tatics, lies and fear mongering. I haven't a bit of respect for any of the such. Their lies follow them like a roll of toilet paper stuffed up the back of their shorts.
Collin Powell is a man of respect. A man who stands for what most Americans can believe in and relate too. He does represent the vision of what a lot of good honest people are looking for in the party.
When ever I hear Limbaugh I want to scream we aren't all that stupid... really we aren't. As far as Carl Rove, he just stands for the words DUMB LIAR.
Rove and Limbaugh should hold hands and go find an island all of their own and spend their days building up each others egoes. That island would sink in no time. Crap gets heavy.

Whenever I see a picture of Rove, it always reminds me of many years ago where the ending to many Loony Tunes cartoons was Porky Pig coming on the screen to say "th..th..th thats all folks". Any body else notice?
