Obama condemns North Korea nuclear test

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Barack Obama castigated the North Korean government Monday for conducting a second nuclear bomb test in defiance of multiple international warnings.

North Korea's actions "pose a grave threat to the peace and stability of the world," Obama said at the White House.

Obama promised that the United States and the international community would strongly respond to the test.

    I sem to recall that it was American Businessmen (think Republican patrioism =$$) that sold technology, some of which was illegal but then agauin, if $$ are involved, the rules don't count.

    JC in Ohio... Conservatives didn't exactly hail G.Bush for his pandering to N.Korea in 2006. We predicted that they'd take the money and continue processing anyhow. If Obama doesn't learn from that and pursue a different path, then you better believe we'll add it to the list of things to hammer him on. Sadly, the list is getting rather long.

    and all this really does is prove that Kim Jong is smarter than the monkey boy president of Iran in that North Korea is getting paid to defy the UN while Iran gets sanctioned.

    The Republicans had their chance back in the late forties and fifties to fix this situation but it was first time we ran with our tails between our legs. DO AWAY WITH THE PEPUKILICAN PARTY.

    There were 3 axis of evils before and thanks to Bush, only 2 left: Iran and North Korea. Will Obama ever be able to eliminate at least one?

    Oh wait, he even add one more, his new buddy, the long-life new tyrant Chavez. republicanonly dot com.

    This is the President's opportunity to prove his critics wrong. He can implement his campaign promise to meet with Kim without preconditions and persuade him to give up his nuclear ambitions. He promised to do that, right? Or was that just empty rhetoric designed to get elected? Didn't negotiations work for President Clinton with the North Koreans? Well maybe that's a bad example.

    It seems that no amount of comdemnation and cajoling by the international community stops North Korea from going ahead with its nuclear program and missile testing. I think the United Nations with the unanimous approval of the Security Council must issue an ultimatum to North Korea to stop its nuclear activities or else suffer dire consequences.

    Well, I see that the right-wing cancer has nothing to do today. How about this... go remember a fallen soldier. Or has it been so long since you left your mother's basement that the resultant sunlight will permanently scar you?

    You have been reduced to a trivial, inconsequential mole on the butt of humanity.

    Gerry;

    You'll never get unanimous approval from the security council as China would never approach any action against NK. You also risk fallout with China if you pursue military action, and that is something we can ill afford. The only action right now has to be diplomacy.
