Biden takes dig at Obama over teleprompter use

(CNN) - Joe Biden couldn't help but take a dig at his boss Wednesday when one of the vice president's teleprompter screens fell down during his commencement speech at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

"What am I gonna tell the president?" Biden said as a gust of wind knocked down his left teleprompter. "I'm gonna tell him his teleprompter is broken. What will he do then?"

The off-handed quip immediately drew laughter and some the loudest cheers of day from the graduates.

Obama has long been criticized from Republicans for at times appearing over reliant on a teleprompter, even during short and informal speeches. During the White House Correspondents Association dinner earlier this month, the president himself poked fun at his penchant for using a teleprompter.

"You know I had an entire speech prepared for this wonderful occasion, but now that I am here, I am going to try something a little different - I am going to speak from the heart," Obama said jokingly as his teleprompter rose from the floor.

    Dear Editor of this blog:
There is no way in hell that JOSEPH "" (spelling intentional) can get to write seven(7) different messages out ot the 105 that I read before I sent in this piece."

    Um, do yourself a favor.

    A. Stop complaining.

    B. Allow the editors to rid the page of offensive remarks.

    C. Refresh your page every few minutes to see your posts.

    It's rather easy.

Everything I said has poroof behind it, it is the truth. Too bad you can't handle being proven wrong, but if you are a libneral you'd better get used to it.

The funny part about saying Obama is not bright is that he beat the pants off of all his who apposed him. Even if you think the media was in the tank for him. He must have used his smarts to have that happen. Are you saying that the white race was betten by a half witted Negro? If so, how smart does that make those who apposed him?

The President and Vice President both have a wonderful sense of humor. There is also no shame in using a teleprompter for speeches when you are the leader of the free world. The President has a lot on his plate. Besides, who has time to memorize anything in 2009. Lighten up folks – there is no need to be rude about something so trivial.

Thats funny and I agree with Biden. We had Bush deer in the headlights and now we have king of the telepromter. I wonder if we will ever have a Pres. like Bill Clinton again who can actually memorize his speech's.

President Obama's teleprompter is the Republicans' worst enemy. Why? It allows the president to always be on point in his speeches, which they ( Republicans) hate. They ( Republicans) are hoping that the President says stupid stuff in his speeches like Bush did.

Obama has got to regret choosing Biden for VP, or maybe he really is pretty smart by choosing Biden and having Pelosi third in line....sounds like job security to make himself look pretty good next to those 2 clowns in the circus.

Great orators do not use teleprompters or notes – great readers do. And NOBODY needs a teleprompter more than the human gaffe machine Joe Biden. He makes Bush and Quayle seem like Demosthenes!

Biden needs to read a teleprompter more, so he will stop putting is foot in his mouth.

Who the heck is writing the links over on the CNN main site?

    This is not "mocking" Obama.

If CNN was a news organization instead of a political front, its employess would be ashamed of themselves for their ignorance in the use of language.

JOSEPH BUTTACAVOLI, you have to be one of the stupidest posters I have ever seen on this site. Absolutely ignorant. About everything. You have obviously forgotten that those thousands of people who died on September 11, died under Bush's watch.

You are nothing but a racist, ignoramous piglet who most likely did not graduate from elementary school.

The teleprompter could be the answer for us all. If only someone with some good sound judgement could take over the script, then Obama would say a lot of things against his own will.

I'm wondering something... The networks set up their main camera (the live feed) directly in front of the President's podium – for a head on shot. Since Obama uses teleprompters on his left and right and rarely looks straight ahead are they going to move the main camera platform to the side?
