Fundraiser-in-Chief continues Western swing

President Obama headlined a fundraiser for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Wednesday.
President Obama headlined a fundraiser for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Wednesday.

(CNN) – One day after President Obama was the headliner at a fundraiser at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, he heads tonight to Hollywood for two fundraisers for the Democratic Party.

The president will be the featured speaker at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The events, which will also include performances by Jennifer Hudson and Earth Wind and Fire, are estimated to bring in around $3 million.

The campaign cash will come in handy, as the Democratic National Committee trails the Republican National Committee by about $15 million. The DNC raised around $4.4 million last month, about a million dollars less than the RNC.

UPDATE: Sen. Arlen Specter will join Obama at the Beverly Hills fundraiser, his fist appearance at a DNC event since switching sides earlier this month.

Last night, the president helped Reid rake in an estimated $1-2 million, according to the Senate Majority Leader's office. Reid is up for re-election next year, and Republicans think he's vulnerable. The most recent polling in Nevada suggests that only a minority of voters there think Reid deserves to be re-elected.

But the GOP has yet to come up with a competitive candidate to go up against Reid. The Senate Majority Leader hopes to keep it that way by raising a mountain of campaign cash for what's expected to be an expensive re-election campaign - a fundraising effort that got a major presidential assist last night in Las Vegas.

Honestly, some of the vile-GOP comments are just disturbing. Thing is the GOPers ..... lie, or give misinformation. You, folks, need to seriously consider thinking for yourselves and doing some research, rather than buying every little bit of Limbaugh-Hannity-propaganda!

@ Joe the Troll........ I agree with you, Reid is a schmuck. President Obama is much too nice to help him!

Hey BO, how about putting some of that Fund-raising to good use. All you liberals decry that more needs to be done for the less well off citizens of American and you don't flinch at the record setting fund raising done by Mr. Obama. Let's have your liberal elite friends start to pony up voluntarily

I want to see a copy of the check the DNC is obligated to write the federal government as reimbursement for Obama's partisan campaign expenses (i.e., use of Air Force One)! Come on, CNN - get on it!

It's amazing how the GOP loses and now everyone has an opinion about the new president. Every Republican President rode on the American tax payers dime when they traveled, now that President Obama is doing it, it is all of a sudden a problem. Phoenix 86 you are clueless. Get use to Obama being President whether you like him or not. He will be around for the next 7 1/2 years.GET USE TO IT!!!!!!

I don't care what anyone says, there is no such thing as a vacation day when you are President. When W. was in Crawford, do you think he wasn't receiving minute by minute details? Same thing as Obama.

However, as with W, I would like to see Obama spend more time in Washington. W didn't leave DC until the end of the summer. Obama has hardly been there.

Wait... I thought Hollywood didn't like religion being shoved down their throats? So why are they coming out in droves to see Jesus?

I hear the 25 Ohio police jobs that Obama "created" with his Stimulus joke are going to be cut by the end of the year. Hmmm... how about that...

Folks, ONLY the private sector creates jobs... the governement just creates "work." Learn the difference.

Somehow it doesn't seem right that the President ask people in Las Vegas to donate money to a political campaign, when he has been so vocal about businesses not wasting their money in Las Vegas.

His words created the economy in Las Vegas to spiral down, creating a loss of jobs and businesses.

Obama and his glistening telepromter rhetoric borders on the inane! Change we can believe in? This President is ridden with hypocracy and beurocratic hyperbole. When will the ill-fated masses believing his marxist message wake up? He is like the Pied Piper leading his Liberal followers off a cliff like rats. Harry Reid is a disgrace to our Nation as Barry begs for more money from the left wing to keep him in power.

All this money could be used to help those in need, instead of wasting it on more dirty politicians.

    Politicians only care about themselves!

We live in the information age where one does not have to be in one place to do ones job. To that end Obama is on duty as he moves about the country. I know Paul from Phoenix may not have realized that since you guys are as backwards as the Southeast states. Heck, GA, AL, and MS had the King Holiday years before you did. But not only that, one of you bamas was upset because Barack Hussain Obama was using Air Force 1 to travel. Well get over it, its his until 2016. And Kevin Denver Colorado if Obama is a fraud then that would mean the GOP is not able to stop a fraud from taking over. You can blame Rush for Operation Chaos which took its eye off the ball in order to play games with the voting process.

So tell the tens of thousands of people working for defense contractors that they don't have jobs - only work. You can tell that to the people working for road construction companies too. Yes. They are private companies but their customer is the Government. It's Government money that employs them. Your premise that those are not jobs is just ridiculous. Learn the difference indeed.

Mr. President...what actions are we taking in response to North Korea's underground nuclear test?

Mr. President...what actions are we taking in response to the five missles that North Korea launched into the Sea of Japan this week?

Mr. President...what actions are we taking in response to the increased terrorist bombings in Pakistan?

    Mr. President....Mr. President?

C'mon CNN...do some reporting. Make yourself seem relevant to what is happening in the world!

So how you define people who spend 20 to 30 years in the military? Is that just work? Nah, don't think so.

    I wouldn't call it a job either. I'd call it a CAREER...

And yes, I speak from direct experience.....

Too bad the strength of the GOP lies in its army of nasty blog commentators, and not in creating viable candidates to govern. Reid, whatever people think of him in Nevada, will be running unopposed, because whomever the GOP puts up will just be a miasma of nonsensical rhetoric.

Rome burns while Zero fiddles away.

Fundraiser and thief is more like it, thief as in my children and grandchildren's future is being stolen away from this fraud who never worked a day in his life, but yet my children will have to work two jobs to pay off this empty, empty vessels debt that he is laying on us.

And before you clueless sheep start, I hammered Bush on this very blog for his overspending, but the fraud in charge is doing it 10 times worse in only a hundred daze, yes DAZE.
