Obama expected to announce 'cyber czar' position

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Obama is expected to announce Friday the creation of the position of cyber czar, a person who will coordinate the nation's efforts to protect government and private computer systems from hackers, criminal gangs, terrorists and spies, people familiar with the plan said Thursday.

The czar will report to both the national security adviser and the head of the National Economic Council, the sources said.

Obama will not name anyone Friday to the post because the selection process is ongoing, they said.

In addition, the White House will release a 40-page report that sets broad goals for combating cyber intrusions, but does not spell out in detail how to do so, said the sources, who would not agree to be identified because the report has not been released.

Nobama has appointed more Czars in his first few months in office than the Russians did in over 300 years of the Romanoff Empire (not sure I spelled that correctly)! That's pretty sad. Why does he have to use the word Czar? Can't the man think up something better than some foreign name; a name that is associated with the ilk of Ivan the Terrible?

So the 150,000 jobs supposedly created from the stimulus bill, are they all government jobs? Seems like every few weeks this administration is announcing a new Czar or some other brand new position....

Anyone wanna bet it's a woman or a minority?

This position's first order of business will be to find a way for the United States government to own and operate the Internet. Barack Obama has now successfully managed to have the government own the banks, the insurance companies and the auto companies.

Mark my words, people. Before the year is out, the U.S. government will "bail out" a state. In effect, own that state.

The central government of a nation owning private business and individual states.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I hate the use of the word "czar." Is this guy going to have dictatorial powers? None of the czars seem to actually ever do anything anyway.

The last thing they are is a czar. Call them what they really are: Another useless political appointment.

Is it just me, or do we have too many "czars"? Is appointing a "czar" a convenient way of bypassing traditional appointments?

And based on the racist and fascist bent of this administration those of us who disagree with the administration's policies, as expressed through CNN, will be targeted somehow. Barack is showing he is very adept at wielding the power of the IRS and other federal financial institutions to damage the opposition. The targed GOP auto dealers is a perfect example.

Being married to a "techie" I know all the dangers "out there". There is a need to take cyber crime seriously.

Thanks, President Obama for taking our Nation into the 21st Century!

PS. Can we call these people something other than "czar"? Please.

  19. George Barack W Hussein Bush Obama

In a previous article by CNN Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser, CNN, your headline is:

    "W to speak out"

Is it fair and balanced to refer to the previous president by "W", in what is thought by some as intentionally disrepectful, but not refer to the current president as "Hussein", which would also be thought of by some as intentionally disrespectful?

    ex. "Hussein to speak out"

You mean we did'nt have anybody in charge of this? See, this is why when folks on these blogs talk about " Obama is not doing this, he's not doing that, he's an empty suit etc., etc.," I mentally turn you off. I believe that what truly irks a lot of folks here is the fact that Pres. Obama has destroyed, CRUSHED, a lot of "stereotypes" held near and dear in in regards to minorites and their ability to perform. You racists guys know what I'm talking about., right? Not only has he destroyed them, he is outperforming, out-thinking, out-classing a whole lot of those that you considered "the best of the best". Now you're faced with looking for something, ANYTHING that this man might do to help you hold tight to your misguided dream. Ouch!! I know it hurts!! lol...NOT!
