  1. Henry Miller

Sotomayor will far more likely badly damage the integrity of the Court by institutionalising racism, er, "empathy," in its decisions.

Wonder why N.O.W. and other pro-abortion groups are not concern over Sotomayor's Catholic pro-life back ground?

And she will be distinctive because of her overt racism. And CNN will gloating on the day she is sworn in. And Barack Hussine Obama will be on the phone with Hugo, talking trash.

And what about CNN's lynching of Clarence Thomas ? CNN is in full orgasmic mode over sotomayor and obama because of their "life experiences" but not a word about Clarence Thomas when he was nominated.

Next thing we know blitzerbama and Mr. 360 will be teabagging sonya. Talk about a life experience. Talk about diversity.

There are 9 in the Supreme Court and a rich diversity of academic and occupational credentials along with varied life experiences help balance out their opinions as a group. All 9 judges are qualified and since 2/3 were appointed by Republican Presidents there should be no fear that the balance is going away from a more conservative slant. Anyone that forms an opinion on anyone based on one paragraph out of context should ask them selves if they would like to be judged as such. If you read the remainder of that very speech you'll see a whole new angle to the commentary but since it won't reinforce the "pre judging" some may not bother to look into it.

In 50 cases where minorities alleged discrimination she voted AGAINST them in 45! Come on people, look at her overall record. Buchanen claimed she won the top award at school because of Affirmative Action only to then discover the info that she won on was blind so the judes had no idea who wrote which one. The recent Supreme Court case where a 13 yr old girl was strip serached at school because another student suggested she had Motrin is a case in point where the lone female judge was able to see that process a little differently than the males and was able to share that perspective with her fellow judges. Being a parent may also shade how one views that situation. Ultimately, they interpret the law and it is a group process. With only a 28% disapproval rating I think we can assume that most

With only a 29% disapproval rating Americans appreciate Obama's judgement and will give her the benefit of the doubt based on that vetting process. Keep in mond the polling showed that almost 10% said they would not vote for him just beacuse he is half Black so that group still is included in the overall disapproval rating mix. How many dismissed Obama due to his background are doing the same with this woman no matter what her qualifications.

I recall the breathless and solemn tone of CNN as it participated with the democrat party in the trashing of Clarence Thomas. In case some you CNN types do not know, Clarence Thomas is a black man on the Supreme Court. He grew up in the south, poverty stricken, etc. etc. Bet you didn't know that ttofast.

It's interesting and instructive to see the over the top reactions by angry white male posters who have labelled Judge Sotomayor as a "racist" based on one brief cherry-picked statement that has been endlessly ranted about by right-wing gasbags.
Judge Sotomayor is far more qualified for the Supreme Court than Clarence Thomas was. She has been a federal judge for 17 years, writing hundreds of opinions which show her to be a balanced, fair judge.
Justice Thomas had served18 months as federal judge, preceded by several political jobs for the Republican Party, at the time he was nominated. It was obvious then that he was named by GHW Bush because he was a black conservative and for no other reason. His record was weak. He had no paper trail or any obvious qualifications for the highest court in the land
Judge Sotomayor is head and shoulders above any recent nominee in her qualifications.

I have read sotomayor's "white man" article ten times so I have not taken anything out of context. She is still a racist in my eyes. We do not need a racist on the Supreme Court. And since I am in the second or third largest minority groups in the country, being white male, racism is in the eyes of this beholder. You have not lived my life, faced the challenges that I face, in fact you know nothing about me, except that you think is fine that a "latina" can hurl a vicious racist remark at me and "no problem". Bull crap, yall.

Im tired of all the trashing of Sotomayor, particularly from the likes of Rush Limbaugh. RL needs to take a permanent vacation from politics, and reflect on his own life trangressions, including is challenges with drug abuse and fraud. the Pot can't call the kettle black, Rush, so SOBER UP!

    Henry Miller;

"Sotomayor wiil far more damage the integrity of the Court...."
You really don't think that Scalia and Thomas have already done that?
What's the difference between "Original Meaning" and "Original Intent"?
Only over 200 years of progress. Hey, Henry this is the year 2009. Look it up if you don't believe me.

She does not believe in the Constitution.
She is a racist and a sexist.
She is a terrible choice for the highest court.
Her last 9 of 10 rulings were very questionable.

The fact is that she is not objective.
A judge is supposed to be impartial.
She speaks out that she votes on empathy and her feelings.
She is supposed to read that law, not change the law.

Sotomayor is just like Obama, they became "Constitutional scholars" not because they love it, but because they want to dismantle it. Obama is always talking about his constitutional "background" ad nauseum. But he is like a termite exterminator who studies termites so he can determine how to kill them. That has been Obama's path, study the constution to determine how best to destory. And he is doing a pretty good job at it right now.

What do people expect, we elected a racist for President, " my Grandmother was like other typical white folks", why should we be surprised when he selects someone who would be disqualified as a juror because of her ethnic bias, to sit on the Supreme Court?

White men put themselves in control of the counry, then they made rules they hoped would keep them there forever. Anyone who complains about their dominance and control is called an outcast. Anyone outside their group who wishes to participate in the operation of things is castigated as dumb, racist, unqualified, or worst. Well, the majority of Americans are fed up with the white boy club and the damage it has brought to the country. Most of the best minds and talents of our country have been discarded by that club's insecure, homophobic, xenophobic, megalomaniacal, ideological narcissism.
