I admire Nancy Reagan. She is a real lady. It is good to hear that she is having lunch with the First Lady. I am a former republican who has nothing bad to say about Nancy Reagan nor Michelle Obama.

"Republicans will be outraged that Obama is spending their money" (taxes).......................

is pretty much on target since it's been shown that the Democrats don't pay their taxes. With that being said. I have no problem with a $24,000,00 date night, or a lunch between these two First Ladies. What I have a problem is, we don't have the money and Obama tells us to cut back, yet he doesn't. He's very good at preaching, but doesn't practice what he preachers and continues to throw this country under the bus.

On a positive note, enjoy your lunch ladies. I'm sure it will be very nice and I'm sure you both will enjoy the afternoon.

Amazing how posters like "bill b. from Stratford,Ct" are still allowed to roam the streets without a leash or helmet. Reagan came in and took over a country that was almost in ruins thanks to 4 years of Jimmy Carter. The man who had no backbone, led to skyrocketing inflation and interest rates, and made America less safe. Reagan put AMERICA first, he didn't back down, and cared for the people instead of the unions.

The Republican president who takes office in 2013 will draw a lot of comparisons to Reagan. Because he or she too will be taking over an America that will have been decimated, this time by the false prophet known as Obama.

She has class, She was one a the few Republicans, who praised the Presidents signing into law too continuing with the stem cell research, one is to find a cure for Alzheimer's, remember Reagan died from that,

Reagan is the biggest disaster America ever faced, he just paved the way for Bush who followed in his reign of massive spending without ever wanting to pay the bill, war profiteering, and putting the nations wealth into the hands of the upper class

I wish Reagan would burn in hell but there is no hell

Republicans have done an excellent job of proping up Reagan as to be some type of demi-god but anyone who knows anything knows what scum he is

-- Reagan and -- the Republicans, greedy Republican pigs have destroyed anything decent about this country

-- America, this country used to be a good place now it is a hell hole

Nancy Regan has done many bad things for the country, as well as many good. It's like that with most presidents and first ladies. Not all of their decisions are popular. Regan is getting a statue because of his popularity and icon-status, and this is probably being paid for more by donation than tax dollars.

What I like about Nancy Regan is she's willing to break with the party to support things that are good for humanity – like stem cell research. And then, of course, there are some things I really don't like.

    @ Jean....

if Michelle traveled to see Nancy the far right would gripe about that as well. Spending tax payers dollars, why not just call her on the phone!!

You see when you're in a party that is in a tailspin there is nothing better to do than find something to gripe about.

I really dislike the class warfare pushed by Obama and the dems to stir up the poor against anyone who strives to improve their lives. Wealthy libs I know are turned off by this and are turning back to free market Republicans.

Bill from CT you are a moron. Carter started the deregulations with the Community Redevelopemtn act of 78. Before you talk trash on Regan, get your historical facts straight. When Carter left office he left it with 20% interest rates. You really know absolutly nothing outside of your narrow onesided veiw of your distorted history.

Okay, the Democrats have Kennedy and Republicans have Reagan. Can we now stop the madness of "Centennial" celebrations, airport and federal building dedications, etc., etc....? Enough politician worship on both sides of the aisle. This is NOT what the founding fathers had in mind when breaking from King George. This is the kind of nonsense in which they engage in cult of personality countries. North Korea – "Dear Leader" and all of that scary silliness. What kind of crazed egomaniac would want all of this? Anyone with an ounce of self-confidence would cringe.

Please President Obama, propose and support a law that nothing can be named after you. Stop the madness.

IIt's either that or they are suffering from some genetic form of ingrained stupidity. If so, I fully support abortion for any liberal, as well as euthanasia or perhaps pyschiatric incarceration. It seems very necessary for the greater good.

Why don't you try suicide-that would be a good start toward improving the greater good, not to mention the average IQ of the country.

Hopefully Former first Lady Nacy Reagan will give advice to Michelle Obama how to act as a First Lady.

Ronald and Nancy Reagan have been the best thing that happened to the White House in probably 100 years.

bill b. from Stratford,Ct said "'Reaganomics' killed this country."

Really? Why don't you like your own money? Because if you don't like your own money, you can send it to me.

Do you like working for free? I don't.

But, if you honestly feel you don't pay enough in taxes, you're free to make more contributions any time you'd like. They have forms for that.

By the way, please tell me about the poor people who've hired you to work for them. I've never once been hired by a poor man. It seems that one must first have some degree of wealth or means in order to hire ANYONE, for that matter. Gee, I guess the wealthy REALLY DO create the jobs in this country. (Except of course where you live, because the poor and destitute there are more entreprenuerial and industrious than the poor in any other place I've ever lived.)

The liberals on this board are just angry because Reagan was the great President that they can only hope Obama can be. Reagan proved that the only way out of financial ruin is the free market. Let people keep their money and let them decide how to spend it. Cut taxes, cut spending and the economy will prosper. You can't expect to endlessly spend money that you don't have and expect the economy to recover.

It is the exact opposite of what Obama is doing right now. When he is thrown out of office in 2012, we will know that Reagan was right.

Hey, JP, I would rather pay my debts than hand them onto my unborn children and grandchildren. The legacy of 3 Republican presidents–two Bushies and Reagan, is 90% of our national debt.

But let's not spoil Nancy's visit. I'm happy for her, and happy for all of us that we can enjoy some civility!
