Obama's NBA prediction

Obama picked Kobe Bryant and the Lakers to beat Orlando in six games.

Obama picked Kobe Bryant and the Lakers to beat Orlando in six games.

(CNN) – As he departed the White House Tuesday evening for his five day trip to the Middle East and Europe, President Barack Obama made a quick prediction:

“Lakers in six, I think," the president said when asked by a reporter for Bloomberg News who he thought would prevail in the NBA finals - beginning Thursday and pitting the Los Angeles Lakers against the Orlando Magic.

Fans of both teams can take heart. The president correctly predicted the NCAA Basketball champion in March (The University of North Carolina), but falsely predicted the Lakers would win the NBA finals last year, also in six games. (Instead, it was the Boston Celtics who won in six.)

Thank you, President Obama, for sticking to the important issues. North Korea exploding nuclear bombs, the Islamic Republic of Iran on the verge of being able to do the same, and two ongoing wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Not to mention nearly two million jobs lost since you ascended to the presidency in January. I'd say the NBA Finals are right up there. Thank you, sir.

orlando in 6... the same knuckleheads picking LA, are the same ones who said the Celtics would beat Orlando... then, they said the Cavs would beat Orlando... they're just gutless... Orlando will be impossible for LA to defend against, and Gasol is NOT going to do well against Dwight Howard...

We don't need or want to hear Obama's opinion on everything. He is completely obsessed with staying in the public eye at all times.

    Very disturbing.

When George Bush wants to get confrontational, weapons are used, people die.

When Obama decided to get confrontational, the worst that happens is he's wrong in his assumption.

I really like Obama, but can't stand the Lakers. What's an Obama supporter to do with decisions like these??

Governor Palin Statement on William Long

"The stories of two very different lives with similar fates crossed through the media's hands yesterday – both equally important but one lacked the proper attention. The death of 67-year old George Tiller was unacceptable, but equally disgusting was another death that police believe was politically and religiously motivated as well.

William Long died yesterday. The 23-year old Army Recruiter was gunned down by a fanatic; another fellow soldier was wounded in the ambush. The soldiers had just completed their basic training and were talking to potential recruits, just as my son, Track, once did.

Whatever titles we give these murderers, both deserve our attention. Violence like that is no way to solve a political dispute nor a religious one. And the fanatics on all sides do great disservice when they confuse dissention with rage and death."

How in the world can this be considered a "big prediction". I'm so sick of CNN trying to make stories out of nothing. The 24 hour news networks will be the catalyst for the downfall of civilization.

I'm a huge Obama supporter, but it is questions like these asked by modern-day "journalists" that worry me about the future of journalism. You get to ask a question to the most powerful man in the world, and you question him on SPORTS?!?!
