New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was on a flight with a passenger who is suspected of having the H1N1 swine flu virus.

(CNN) - New Orleans, Louisiana, Mayor Ray Nagin, who traveled to China on an economic development trip, has been quarantined after possible exposure to the H1N1 virus, his office confirmed Sunday.

Nagin flew on a plane that also carried a passenger who is being treated for symptoms suspected to be from the virus, commonly known as swine flu, the mayor's office said in a statement.

Nagin, his wife and a member of his security detail have been quarantined in Shanghai, though all three remain symptom free, the statement said.

"The mayor is being treated with utmost courtesy by Chinese officials," the statement said.

The Chinese have always shown that they will not hesitate to take action, unlike this horrible mayor from 'Chocolate City'. He could learn a thing or two from them, but unfortunately, being a loony lib Dem, he is incapable of logic and learning.

it says he had security people with him
I would hope that the people of new orleans
DID NOT PAY for his trip to China
because what would a mayor need to be doing in China on the behalf
of a town such as new orleans ?

more big shot spending this from a mayor that sold out the parishes and small commuities during the flooding to promote big business and other rich people . he was there lacky boy and that sad part is he is to much of a big shot to see it

This is the man who failed New Orleans by not triggering the emergency reponse plan paid through the nose for by taxpayers. China would have hung Nagin..

    Perfect place for that guy.
How the heck did they let him stay in New Orleans in the first place.
    Great Mayor and Leader.
Best thing that could happen is they keep him in China and the people of NO get a new Mayor.

First China takes all our jobs, now it's taking our mayors. LOL. Just kidding.

Seriously, why are we shipping all our good jobs to a Communist country? There was a time when this would be called treason.

Can we ship Bush/Cheney/Palin there too? They've given us so much... (outsourcing, cheap crap, dead pets) we've gotta return the favor with love (and the total disaster those three will make there).

Economic development in a city which is only half of what it used to be, and is certain to be destroyed again within the next 50-100 years if the levees are not upgraded to withstand above a Category 3 storm? Why would any sane and prudent businessperson choose to build under water level? Why would any insurer take on this risk?

You mean to say that New Orleans still has this person as mayor? After all that he and that governor (at the time) did to the people of that city? Maybe some Chinese water torture would make this man tell what happenned to all of the money 'lost' in New Orleans after the hurricane.
