GOP senator to Obama: 'you got nerve'

Could Grassley’s peeved tweets be a bad sign for the White House?

Could Grassley’s peeved tweets be a bad sign for the White House?

WASHINGTON (CNN) - On Sunday, as President Obama was wrapping up a visit to France, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee - who will play a key role in the consideration of the health care legislation the administration has called a top priority - posted a few pointed comments on Twitter, aimed directly at the president.

"Pres Obama you got nerve while u sightseeing in Paris to tell us 'time to deliver' on health care. We still on skedul/even workinWKEND," wrote Chuck Grassley of Iowa.

Later, he added: "Pres Obama while u sightseeing in Paris u said 'time to delivr on healthcare' When you are a 'hammer' u think evrything is NAIL I'm no NAIL."

The White House later said the president looked forward to working with Congress when he returned from D-Day commemoration celebrations in France.

Grassley obviously expressing the frustration of many with the "star" who does nothing but dance to the tune played by George Soros, ACORN and the unions.

Republican, Chuck Grassley of Iowa needs to put a sock in it. There is nothing in the constitution that says the President has to always be in the White House working when Congress is working.
This is just another attempt by Republicans to stir up discontent. THis party is attempting to spread more fear with scare tactics. The GOP has sunken to the status of Grumpy Old People.

Talk about nerve! Conservatives have been on vacation since 1975 when the last Conservative President to accomplish anything left office (Richard Nixon, of course). Since then, Conservatism has not solve ONE of the nation's problems. In fact, Conservative negligence has CREATED problems (like the current recession) while solving none.

Sen Grassley's website assures us that "From Senator Grassley's leadership position on the Senate Finance Committee, he works to find policy solutions that will make health care coverage more affordable and health care services accessible and accountable."

Oddly, though, his website does not mention a single bill that he has authored or plans to author on health care. In fact, despite his long tenure in the Senate, his website does not mention a single accomplishment in health care that can be attributed to him other than garnering a lot of federal dollars for Iowa. Funnelling federal dollars to his constituents seems to be his primary accomplishment, in fact.

His 100% opposition to abortion may help cut medical costs. If a woman can't get an abortion, I guess it won't cost her anything.

I think if Senator Grassley wrote this, he needs a lot of help with his English and grammar. As an Iowan, and an English major I am embarrassed. Please, use proper English, spelling, punctuation. Texting, with all its acronyms is ruining the English language.

For everyone who moans about President Obama taking a few days away from Washington....get over it. Some people will never be happy no matter what he does. People complain because he's too involved....others complain because he's not involved enough. Here's a thought. Why doesn't everyone who was elected to office act like adults, and do their job?

Hmmm...Senator Grassley should take a few English grammar lessons before spouting off. In addition, the senator's party (Republican) had more days out of session than IN session while they were the majority party...which gave them the well deserved nickname "The Do-Nothing Congress".

Senator Grassley – Better grammar is expected from a "ranking Republican" ...and less hypocrisy about "staying on schedule" given your party's in-session attendance record from a few years back would go a long way towards establishing credibility for consideration of ANYTHING you have to say!

Grassley is right. Everything with this administration is a big RUSH.
Look where it has gotten us. They didn't even read the Stimulus bill, god forbid we really knew what was in it. There is no need to push this.
    Lets do it right.

  17. The Party of NO is only “pro-life” to save a zygote now, so it can then kill the “babies” 18 years later as soldiers in an elective religious war.

Were these actual comments by Grassley or his 8 year old?

Instead of healthcare, maybe just maybe Chuck Grassley should complain that clearly he did not get enough education, what kind of poilical leader has such poor grammer and spelling. Hey Chuckie when you can communicate in proper english then you can complain, till then...

AND.........here is your typical GOP elected official being negative and on Twitter at that.

    What a putz.

    Grassley...what is your proposal?

It sure didn't bother you one bit while Bush was on vacation over 1 1/2 years of his eight years in office. Typical GOP hypocrisy!

This is exactly, why people are so turned off by the Republicans. They all have these little stupid comments and jokes they want to say out in public to let their supporter know they are against anything the President is trying to do for the American people. But, here is what they don't understand, by not supporting any Health Care measures they are actually, showing they are for big business and not for main street Americans!!! Wake up people vote people like this out of office!!! The time for politcal games are over!!
