good to know that you cannot buy an election in Virginia.

The beginning of the end....   June 9th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

for Obama/Clinton supporters......big loss which shows that people are fed up with Obama's reckless and ineffective spending which will put our children and grandchildren under the Chinese thumb.....

RR   June 9th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

maybe money can't buy an election

Nice contrast to the Senate race in Minn. A guy won and one lost, he at least gets it.

Liberals are funny. They get so huffy puffy when people trash Obama. Now they know what Republicans felt like when they (and the media) trashed Bush all these years.

Hypocrites!!!!!!!

Good, only Deeds has a chance to win. and I hope he does.

Obama - NOPE   June 9th, 2009 10:07 pm ET

Good riddance to more Clinton rubbish.

Interesting, I just found out that the right wing nuts copy people's names and then make stupid comments using other people's names. Is it immaturity? Yes. LOL. Some day the grown ups will take the republican party back and we will take them seriously again. But Rush Limbaugh? Sarah Palin? Dick Cheney? Newt Gingrich? As long as they are out front, I'm a democrat. Joe Scarborough is at least trying to have a conversation. He's the only republican I actually know of who is speaking any sense – other than Colin Powel, Dick Lugar, Brent Scowcroft, you know, the adults.

liberals are on their way out....bye bye...

Mark   June 9th, 2009 9:56 pm ET

Personally, I like Terry McAuliffe, but no democrat is going to win in Virginia.

browngm79   June 9th, 2009 9:56 pm ET

As a Va. conservative, I was happy to see Deeds win today for one reason....he is an ACTUAL Virginian. McAuliffe and all of his "out of state" money from Clinton couldn't even get him the nomination. He had the field blown in away in contributions but got beat by Deeds almost 2 to 1. I love it. Congratulations Deeds. Keep these out of state hacks out of our beloved Virginia politics!

Mike-Chicago   June 9th, 2009 9:52 pm ET

Good. McAuliffe is a total tool. He was a terrible DNC chair. Why reward incompetence with the governor's mansion?

teresa   June 9th, 2009 9:51 pm ET

i knew that virginians had too much class to elected the dirtiest of the clinton gang! way to go virginia – maybe the rest of the country will follow your lead and look at the character of the people we vote for – afterall, they willl do in public office what they do in their private lives and mcawful was the sleaziest of the bunch!

phoenix86   June 9th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

I see VA going back to its republican roots. The stench of Obama is too great. One and done for Oblama.

Al Paul   June 9th, 2009 9:43 pm ET

This is the right thing to do as a democrate and I do respect McAuliffe for showing his respect to the party. Thanks

nota dem   June 9th, 2009 9:31 pm ET

people see that dems is short for demons and with Obama the anti-christ in office, people are seeing through the smoke and they are not happy.

John in IL   June 9th, 2009 9:30 pm ET

Who is Deeds? Like Mr. Deeds aka Adam Sandler? Ha ha ha ha Democrats are such a joke!

Denise   June 9th, 2009 9:29 pm ET

This is great for the Dems. My nderstanding is the GOP did want want Deeds to win, they favored McAuliffe. Deeds has them worried.

Ken   June 9th, 2009 9:24 pm ET

HA! McAuliffe is the worst of the worst partisans. He's been a venomous hate-mongerer. No self respecting Democrat with a sense of decency could have voted for such a wretch.

My faith in humanity has been renewed!

Jane   June 9th, 2009 9:24 pm ET
