Palin tight-lipped on political future

(CNN) - Sarah Palin told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Friday she's not ready to announce any decision on whether she will seek re-election as governor of Alaska in 2010 or seek the Republcian presidential nomination in 2012.

"I'm not definitely going to do anything yet," said the former Republican vice presidential candidate. "What I'm trying to get done for Alaska right now is to get that Alaska gas line built. We need those energy sources flowing through North America. That's what my focus is."

Pressed if she had made a decision privately about future plans, Palin said "No decision that I'd want to announce today."

In a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released last week, Palin was effectively tied with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee as the top pick by Republicans for the party's 2012 presidential nomination.

  1. PULEEEZZZ!! lets tell some truth

Robin, what exactly is a real person?? The conservatives listen to Rush, and Savage. I've tried to listen to those folks, but after 2 minutes, i hear anti-black, anti-environment, anti-female, anti just about everything. A conservative thinks 'My country right or wrong" This is dangerous, as the world is coming together. Its time to put a side racial, religious, and gender issues and get on with it. Rush and Savage, and conservatism in general dont do this. Also there are now 2 cases of conservatives killing people. Is that not hatemondering?? now do you get it?

I find it so hard to believe that anyone could consider Ms. Palin as a serious contender for president. She can't even handle a joke made by a comedian without going ballistic. She is a small town mayor pretending to be a governor with aspirations of being president. But hey it worked for W so anything can happen

To be President she has to do the following:

    1. Retain David Gergen as her discreet spokesperson on CNN

    2. Consult Ma. Gov.Duval's speeches and steal a few catch phrases

3, Come up with a powerful but hollow slogan like "Change we believed but not delivered"

    4. Consider changing her gender ( merica is not ready for a woman President)

    5. Dump her husband and get married to an Ivy leaguer.

    6. Get Teddy K. to endorse her.

    7. Get a cute dog

I lived in Alaska for 4 years. Palin is a governor of a welfare state that receives far more Federal dollars than it contributes. Fine. But despite this fact, she portrays herself as a reformer and fiscal conservative. The woman attended 5 colleges in 4 years. She championed the Bridge to Nowhere then claimed to fight it. She is consistently deficient of basic facts and arrogant. She was laughable when discussing the economy with Sean Hannity, who handled her with kid gloves. She preaches abstinence and her unwed daughter gets pregnant 17. Her husband participates in secession rallies. I love Alaska, but you can keep Palin.

Mike wrote: The first woman to seriously contend for President. It's no wonder the leftist attack dogs work overtime on her. A more pathetic display of hatred I have never seen!

I believe she ran for vice president and she was not even the first woman to do that. That would be Geraldine Ferraro. But don't let facts get in your way. Have a nice day!

Liberals aren't afraid of Gov. Sarah Palin, they're afraid of Gen. Colin Powell. Powell is the one man who could defeat Obama in 2012.

Only four new Sarah posts? You're slipping, CNN.
Do the people of Alaska like their governor parading around the lower 48 making a fool out of herself? If not, I suggest they mount a recall.

Palin scares liberals? hardly. We very much WANT her to run. But, come 2012, when Romney and Huckabee lay into her, (and they will) she won't be able to whine and cry that mean old Katie Couric spooked her.

"Why are we conservatives called the hatemongers? I just don't get it."

All the domestic terrorism (bombings – McViegh, shootings – abortion doctors acting within the law, snipers, and wild gunmen) has been conducted by anti-government conservatives.

Listen to AM talk radio. Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Medved, Savage, Levin.... all these guys embrace and rhetorical tools meant to demonize and dehumanize any person that thinks differently than they do. And they rile up their base. Guy that ran into a church and open fired on the congregation killing several had books by several of these right wing pundits in his home.

It is obvious to anyone outside the right wing bubble that these pundits deal in corrosive linguistics. And when they are called out on their tactics they fall back on "I'm just an entertainer" defense.

    These persons are pure poison.

Sign #5,924 Sarah Palin isn't ready to be a national political leader: She gets in fights with COMEDIANS! Have some grace and thick skin, like every other major politician.
    --------------------------
I am certain she couldn't have cared less that Letterman attacked HER! He attacked her 14 year old daughter! Willow WAS at the game Bristol WAS NOT! Big difference! There would be NO outcry if "comedians" attacked the Obama girls, right? In fact, when was the last time a "comedian" did just that! The left has no problem when Bristol is attacked but God forbid someone attacks the Obama girls! Anybody else see the hypocrisy in this? Politicians are ON limits, families are OFF! Why can't you get this?

Robin, the compassion argument that liberals love to assert is such a charade I am often amazed that they get away with it. Let's be clear, liberals are very compassionate when it comes to spending other peoples' money. However, its amazing how all that compassion goes away the second its hits their wallets. Its very easy to get up and demand that money be spent on this social need and that social need, but its quite another thing to pay for it.

Regarding the Letterman comments, who cares what daughter he was talking about as his comments were degrading to women in general, unless we all beleive that a male baseball player can enter the stands and have sex with any woman of their desire. Its the same ol' male dominance female submission thing. And if you don't get this, look at it this way, do you think the joke would have worked if he said Bristol went down to the dug out and got A Rod to knock he up? Misogyny is always just that.

I would love for Sarah to run for President in 2012 and be nominated by the Repubs. That means the Democrats will win in a landslide.

Sadly, you are correct. The unemployment could continue to rise each month, and our debt could continue to rise, and voters would still pick Obama over Palin...In that case, I wouldn't know who to feel for more: Palin or the ones who would vote for Obama.
