Obama takes aim at Fox News

Obama says Fox News is 'entirely devoted' to attacking his administration.
Obama says Fox News is 'entirely devoted' to attacking his administration.

(CNN) – Brushing off suggestions Tuesday the media is not critical enough of his administration, President Obama couldn't help but take aim at one cable news channel in particular.

"It's very hard for me to swallow that one," Obama told CNBC when asked whether he thinks the media is too easy on him. "First of all, I've got one television station entirely devoted to attacking my administration."

The interviewer quickly assumed Obama was referring to Fox News, a suggestion the president didn't disagree with.

"Well, that's a pretty big megaphone," he said. "And you'd be hard-pressed, if you watched the entire day, to find a positive story about me on that front."

"We welcome people who are asking us some, you know, tough questions," he continued. "And I think that I've been probably as accessible as any president in the first six months–press conferences, taking questions from reporters, being held accountable, being transparent about what it is that we're trying to do. I think that, actually, the reason that people have been generally positive about what we've tried to do is they feel as if I'm available and willing to answer questions, and we haven't been trying to hide them all. "

Obama struck a similar tone on the matter last month in his appearance before the White House Correspondents Dinner, during which he joked to the crowd, "Most of you covered me; all of you voted for me, apologies to the Fox table."

Oh my, can't take the heat? Can't stand to hear the truth? Or have the American people hear the truth? The msn panders to the administration, especially the Obamas – to the point that it is utterly sickening! The man isn't God as he would have us believe.

Faux News is quite possibly the most shallow and biased "news" source out there. I mean come on! Glenn Beck??? Really? Faux can't find anyone more intelligent and who doesn't fake-cry on the air?

Wow, what a shock that Obama doesn't like FNC. It's the only station that's actually wondering if burying our country under massive amounts of debt is a good idea, rather than just kow-towing to Obama all day long.

Aren't all the other news networks owned by the Liberals? ABC was just bought out by the government this week. Just another move for a socialist nation. Really stinks. Even flies like BO.

Why don't you, OBAMA, pass a law to make the media more even like it use to until Bill Clinton changed the law to allow media to chose to be specific.

I can't believe Obama said Fox is devoted to attacking his administration. It clearly bothers him that not everyone thinks he hung the moon.

Perhaps this Administration doesn't like the questions that Fox asks – but at least someone is asking. It is important to get all sides of the information – and for as far left as this Administration is, anyone from the right will look far right – without being far right.

Why should he complain with only one media source questioning his careless ways when Bush had all except Fox critiziing every move he made.

Oh, please!! "One television station entirely devoted to attacking my administration".

What a joke! He's got 3 or 4 others that do nothing but fawn all over him and his every word (are you listening, CNN?). Obama needs to grow a pair. If he can't stand the heat, he better get out of the kitchen.

Poor Obama, every other so called news channel and 99% of the so called news papers are in the tank for him but FOX has the audacity to question and to point out the potential problems with his plans.
No one else is going to do it.

Poor President Obama. I believe the ratio of hostile media was exactly reversed for Bush (ie 1 for and 4 against, expecially CNN). I dont remember hearing Bush cry about it. Such is the nature of liberalism, I have found. Very intolerant of anyone or anything standing against them.
