Republicans raising cash to counter-program ABC Obama special

Steele is raising money to counter-program ABC.

(CNN) - National Republicans - miffed over ABC News' decision to broadcast a primetime special next featuring President Obama making the case for his healthcare proposal - are looking to raise $100,000 to hit the airwaves with their own health care reform proposal.

"ABC News will be promoting Obamacare at virtually every opportunity, from 'Good Morning America' to 'Nightline,' and reach from ABC News' Web sites all the way to the White House's East Room," Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele writes in an e-mail titled "URGENT" to supporters Thursday.

"Please help us raise the nearly $100,000 we need to buy air time to get the truth about the disastrous consequences of the Obama Democrats' government-run health care plans out to the American people," he adds.

The letter comes a day after the RNC sent a memo to GOP members of Congress urging them to take to the local airwaves next week to discuss the party's approach to health care reform.

The RNC told congressional offices Wednesday that it will pay for and help schedule the interviews with local television reporters in their states and districts.

    @Sniffit –

You poor misguided soul; no one chased the GOP. Obama was handed the election via corruption with ACORN, Soros, the liberal academia, Hollywood and his muslim brotherhood.....don't ever think you hold any clout over an honest conservative; by definition, a liberal or statist, is void of all human character and individualism.....and that's evident on the blogs here.

Why waste the money trying to combat the Obama propaganda machine? Let him do his damage and continue his path of failure, the tide is changing in how people now see the Messiah. As the Stimulus package continues to fail and inflation sets in only the ignorant hard line Obots still think this guy has a clue as to what he is doing. As these professional politicians continue the two party political game in DC, distorting our constitution and ignoring our laws, the people of this Nation will take care of them as need be! 2010, 2012 Take control of America back!

Wow! What a democratic society we live in when every change is directed from how many penny you can get from people! I thought every vote counted! Elected officials should be working at finding solutions and not at asking more money from citizens to hear the same old rhetoric!

I'm sure any news organization would give you airtime....if you had anything positive to contribute to the discussion. Evidently, in the land of ratings, the powers that be (CEO's, newscasters, Neilsen et al)have decided that there isn't a MARKET for whatever it is that Republiklans have to say.

Kinda sad ain't it Republiklans? Oh well!

You should however be very thankful that the last administration made you all filthy rich. Coming up with the needed dough to stage your "on the air" tea party should'nt be a problem.

We need to demand TERM LIMITS NOW. It shouldn't matter what party you are from. It is the only way to stop corruption on all sides. Being a politician was never meant to be a career. We need to start making noise on this issue! Get the word out!

The President can have network TV time any time he wants. Bush got the same as did presidents before him. This is the first time the 'other' party has a problem with it. How can we not assume it's because OUR President is Black?

The majority of Americans want / need to believe in their Obama god. They will follow him to ruin, cheering all the way. When they realize how much Obama has hurt them and their children, they'll put the Republicans back in.

Until then, Obamabots prefer ignorance and hyprocracy to the truth and individual responsibility.

...Did she tell you to ridicule others you disagreed with, call them names, whine when you didn't get your way, and in general act like a baby?
Wow! A liberal condemning bad liberal behaviors! There may be hope after all! Because what you describing is exactly bad liberal behaviors! Don't believe me? Read the responses to any story on Bush or Palin ! Whining and name calling. Good call think!

I dont understand why liberals won't let other Americans oppose some of these policies. The moderates won the election for Obama, not liberals. Check the Gallup poll, 44% of Americans consider themselves conservative versus 22% liberal. This media has an agenda. Not allowing the American people to counter the policies being pushed down our throats by the Obamadministation is flat out wrong.

To get an extended warranty, write to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The president guaranteed your warranty. Michelle may even change the oil.

Obama says White? Then GOP says Black.
He said Up? then they want Down.
He wants West? They push for East.

    Pre-opposed opposition. Embarrassing.

"Totally agree with you, FLP. Looks like Obama doesn't want to have freedom of speech from Fox. How come all the other media treat Palin unfairly?"

Treated Palin unfairly? You mean, using her own words against her? Palin has trouble even speaking basic English properly. It's a true blessing Sarah Palin is not our Vice President.

Yes, a government system that takes less tests and gets better results in malpractice. If you believe this you need to go back to school. Then study for a test with less material and see if you get a better grade. Our president everyone.

@ FLP – DAVE the truth teller...

Stand fast conservatives; as you can see, typical liberal rebuttal. When they cannot defend an Obama stance, they resort to name calling and childish references to your schooling etc...when, in actuality, most dems are poorly educated, sparking the need for "no child left behind,' which is a clever cloak for " No liberal left behind," because they want it to be fair for little Johnny. Not that lil' Johnny could possibly learn it..they want to dumb down the nation. Well, they have; welcome to the Era of Obama.

Dave – you're right...the libs boobs were wailing on the Bush article, and CNN followed suit by censoring several scathing replies I had that were, mind you, fact filled as usual...and indefensible for liberals.

They're falling on their own sword, yet are taking the time to bash Bush instead of remedying their own mistake in office.

    Earth to GOP:

We gave your people the boot last November. We don't care what you think. Obama is the President and he is leading where your people have failed. Watch the show with an open mind and learn something.

    With kindest regards, America

Obama wasn't whining about fox. If you actually watched the video clip instead of just parroting what every other republican was saying you would see he gave a joking response to the question of whether he felt the media was giving him and easy time.

  19. Big Government?

it is funny how repubs are so anti-big government and big spending when 2/3 of our national debt came under three presidents who were all repubs. (G.W Bush, Bush Sr., and Reagan), and yet under a Dem. we had a first (national surplus...Clinton)...if it is about the economy they are beta as well, unless you listen to lies. Stick with your morality debate guys, but even then they are pro-life and pro-death penalty at the same time...contradiction?
to add...a study was released that showed those with moral superiority were the most likely to commit immoral acts....

Until there is a fact finding commission, no ONE REALLY KNOWS what the effects of health care changes will be.... Why doesn't congress send a commission to Europe and judge the different approaches to healthcare and report back to congress. They can see the socialized healthcare in action....No more guessing(lying) about the hazards of "socialized" healthcare!!!!

Just so CNN, FOX and the RNC, knows, people outside the U.S, have turned a deaf ear to what your network has to say. The outside world is watching and listening to the way, you people treat this man. We will be tuning to ABC, next Wednesday

    @Paul –

That's a good question...BECAUSE Bush had nothing to do with the tragedy of 9/11....Clinton had the opportunity to capture Bin Laden and cronies...I know, I had first hand knowledge of it....but, as usual, Clinton was too busy with occupying interns. So, ABC, if they were to assign blame, some should go to Clinton, zero to Bush.

Hey...Can't we think up a few more ways to divide the country? Maybe someday government will get back to representing the people instead of special interests of the politicians and their wealthy donors.

I'm sure that there are plenty of pharmaceutical companies and private theives, I mean medical insurance companies, who will pony up that kind of money and plenty more to sponsor an RNC ad campaign against nationalized health care!
