Is this the reason your ratings are going down? This is a non-story. As a previous commenter said folks get injured all the time and continue with their work. Not a big deal. I respect Hillary Clinton and wish CNN would print more relevant articles on her work. Not this junk.

Ooops! I had a hair cut so I can't think properly! Come on CNN. But on the other hand, aren't we all rather petty to react to such nonsense from CNN?

I broke my elbow and managed to go on. Hillary will do the same. She's a pro and a hard working gal, she'll bounce back and it will have no affect on her performance at all.

So, if a person breaks her right elbow, it might temporarily effect her ability to do her job? Really? Who ever would have guessed? Thank heavens CNN is on top of this earth-shaking story.

What has she accomplished so far that could possibly be affected by this? So far she is a 'non-starter' as Secretary of State. Our foreign policies seem to be 'wait and see.'

It won't affect her at all. She's been ducking, weaving, and throwing some mean uppercuts towards the Right for 20+ years! Only difference is now, as Secretary of State, she'll be doing it southpaw.

She's one tough cookie. One day, she will be our first woman President.

We love you Madame Secretary! Get well soon.

Sorry to hear about Hillary's fall. Anyone who thinks she doesn't do anything isn't listening to the news. Hillary probably works harder than most of the dead beats out there that have nothing better to do than leave comments about something they know nothing about.

I'm rather surprised to see this story on Secretary Clinton and her injured elbow, especially with its focus of how this injury would affect her performance of her job. In fact I can't think of nor find any other story regarding a head of state or cabinet member who sustained an illness or an injury where the reporting was focused on how an illness or injury would affect the job performance of the person concerned.

When Pres. Clinton hurt his knee during his second term and had to undergo surgery at Bethesda, there were no reports about this might affect his role.

Nor when John Ashcroft was seriously ill and hospitalized during Pres. Bush's first term - no stories about how his illness would affect his job performance.

So why all the focus on Secretary Clinton and her role as Secretary of State?

She does something to begin with? I know she has a title, S.O.S., but I didn't think she really did anything worth while. I mean she hasn't done much with Israel, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., etc.. As far as I am concerned, I hope this does affect her job...for the better.

I don't think Clinton's injury will impact her job any more than an injury may impact the job of the average working person. I'm sure that she is still working from home or even working on scheduling more meetings. She can pop back a pain relief pill, put her arm in a sling, and keep on working. She seems more than capable of doing her job with this injury.

Big deal. I'm an elected official and have a full-time job, and I just came out of a walking boot for an ankle injury. Yeah, I was at home three days to stay off it, but my Blackberry, phone and computer all worked. It's a broken elbow; it may alter her travel schedule, but she'll be able to work just fine. Unless there is a need for her to elbow the leader of another country in the mouth, there's no duty she can't perform.

I wish Hillary a speedy recovery. The doctor will probably have to strap her to the bed to prevent her from going back to work about 1/2 hour out of surgery.

An olecranon break is painful and will take occupational therapy rehabilitation. I broke the same bone in Dec. and required surgical fixation. Whether or not she does anything in office is debatable, but I can honestly say she is going to be limited in her movements of that arm for at least 3 to 4 months. She will lose strength and flexibility, and will have to be on a graduated therapy program to work around the bone's healing process to get back her range of motion and strength. There is also a possibility of permanent nerve damage of the Ulnar nerve, because it runs through a groove on the olecranon and in most cases, has to be moved out of the way in order to reach the bone to put in metal hardware to fix the break.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of her job in office. However, the break in her elbow is not just something that is minor and will go away. It will require surgery, and there will be a substantial recovery period. It's not a walk in the park, that's for sure.

No matter what and how the context of Hillary's life is presented in such articles and visuals such as this, it is just an avenue for ugly people to come out of the dark and express their ugliness into our wonderful world.

Was it Bambi's mother who taught, "If you can't say something nice, then say nothing at all."

There is enough ugliness in the world ... without even more showing their faces.

This is a non-issue since the Messiah's health care reform bill will ensure that all those who want, and many who do not need, bionic part replacements will get them courtesy of Uncle Sugar. She may be unable for a while to elbow Bill in the ribs as his eyes wander at the local watering hole, but, other than that she should be fine in no time at all.

George W Bush managed to continue doing a terrible job for 8 years despite being brain dead. I am sure Hillary can continue to do a great job despite a small bruise on her body.

@ Max, thanks to Hillary's 18 million cracks Obama is president today. If all of us that voted for her would have stated home on election day mcCain would be president today . So the democratic party and BO should thank her millions of times.

One has to wonder if a crisis is brewing which will deem Obama administration incompetent and Obama will use Hillarys elbow injury and Napolitan ankle injury to take the flak for his bumbling. Obama is a clever Presidunce but dishonest down to the core.

David: speaking of brain dead, try reading the article. It is not a small bruise on her body, it is a broken elbow which has to be painful. Try being a democrat. Democrats dont worry about having the facts.
