"Who owns the War and the Economy?"

We the American People own both, and through our elected representatives we express our collective will.

We reap what we sow, that is what happens in a democracy like ours.

Reading all the negative comments from people on the Ticker day after day, you begin to wonder if anyone remembers that anymore.

Bush started this, Bush is responsible, Bush was a horrible excuse for a President!!!!!!!!!!! President Barrack Obama now has taken the reigns and must clean this mess up. Therefor this is now his war, but Bush and Cheney are to blame all the way!!!!!

Most presidents that we have had have been driven by an ideology that was bigger than they were whether they were right or wrong. All I see from President Obama is arrogance. It is always "my economy, my health care reform, my energy bill". Well, okay Mr. President, then I am sure that you will be willing to take responsibility for them when they cripple this country. Our president is an elitist. He is all about saving the disadvantaged but doesn't want to show them how much better it is to provide for yourself and your family and to solve your own problems. This mindset pretty much describes the democratic party in general. I do believe that government should help people. However, programs should be designed to empower them not keep them dependent. Then again, President Obama and his democratic side kicks wouldn't have anyone to look down.

In an AP article regarding G.W. Bush's upcoming visit to Woodward, Oklahoma, Kelle Robinson, co-owner of a local bakery is quoted as saying, "He's not too good for the common people." Yep, his policies hit us pretty hard and we're still not over it.

Seems to me Bush/Cheney took us to war. Seems to me that this economic slowdown/recession started in 2007, under Bush/Cheney. Seems to me that Bush/Cheney had over a year to try to turn the recession around/slow it down. Seems to me that Congress has been controlled by republicans 13 out of the last 15 years. 5 months is nowhere near enough time to repair even 1/4 of the damage thats been done to this country under republican rule!

Clinton and Barney Frank own responsilbility for the economy! Relaxation of the lending laws and forcing banks to loan money to underemployed people so they could buy a home led to the financial crisis that has taken the economy down. I am sure most people on this blog are probably blaming Bush but that is their lack of understanding showing.....

southerncousin   July 3rd, 2009 12:57 pm ET

This is all Obama's and the liberal media gave him a long pass. They dumped all of Clintons problems on Bush right away and Clinton became the saint. Obama is showing his total incompetence every minute of every day.

annie against biased news   July 3rd, 2009 12:47 pm ET

This whole financial mess is now obama's Katrina. How many soldiers have died under obama's watch? The government controlled news media under bush gave us a constant body count while screaming war monger at bush. obama doesn't have a clue as to what he is doing or how to do it or else he is the most evil person in the world. He needs to drop 100% arrogance and assume respondsibility for his ignorance of the mess he is making.

Franky, Land of Lincoln   July 3rd, 2009 12:32 pm ET

You know, I believe after a year, then it will be his, cause the wars are already his, not to mention what's going on in the International stage. Yeah, the jobless rate is gonna reach 10%, that's no question about it and is either gonna hit in 2 months or just barely after next month. So when July is finished and August or September starts, is gonna already hit, expect that. And that means the holidays are coming up so there you go, you know what's happening.

Do you know how we can stimulate this economy?? It's worked historically and boy, we can use it now...let's go to war!!! Hey, with Bush we did the job but the #'s gotta increase...A LOT!!!!! LOL!! :)

I'm telling you now, look at the history books, to overturn something like this, you gotta either get lucky(or go to war, LOL!!) OR become a legend...:).

chubby   July 3rd, 2009 12:28 pm ET

This is obamas economy, after all he has more than doubled the debt and spending in only 05 months in office. Sorry, this is not Presidents Bush's war, economy or debt. It all belongs to obama and the demorats and guess what, the chickens are coming home to roose. How is the change working for you so far?

Mary the Democrat   July 3rd, 2009 12:25 pm ET

Who ever is in power at the time owns the responsibility of any War.....it's always been that way......even now.
