WASHINGTON (CNN) - The Democratic National Committee immediately slammed Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's decision to leave office early.
DNC Spokesman Brad Woodhouse:
"Either Sarah Palin is leaving the people of Alaska high and dry to pursue her long shot national political ambitions or she simply can't handle the job now that her popularity has dimmed and oil revenues are down. Either way – her decision to abandon her post and the people of Alaska who elected her continues a pattern of bizarre behavior that more than anything else may explain the decision she made today."

The DNC really shouldn't issue a statement – there's no need to pile on. Palin's own bizarre behavior is the only commentary the American people need.
I think without knowing why exactly Sarah Palin quit ass governor today that people still had their knives out for her! Its disgusting even watching CNN right now is that no one is giving her credit for what she has done, the pressure she was thrust into when she opted to be VP candidate, and that no one even considers the fact that she may feel that her position now in national politics is too much on her family. She has a young child with down syndrome which is difficult enough, she has a young daughter and a teenage daughter with a child of her own. And to top all that off, she has legal fees.
Everyone including the national media should first think of all this then calling her "flakey" like Begala just did on CNN.
If she thinks quitting early as Governor of Alaska will pave the road to the White House in 2012 she better think again! I WOULD NEVER IN MY WILDEST DREAMS VOTE FOR A QUITTER!!!!!!

I watched Sarah Palin's announcement and feel energized again for our country. I believe she is stepping down because she is seeing where this country is headed and is going to fight for it for her children. She would not be able to do that and be the governor. I support the fight! Any goverment official that supports bills that are not fully read and understood needs to go.

Sarah Palin used her "Executive experience" to back up her claim that she was ready to be V.P or President, if necessary. How does she convince the American people that a person who would abandon her elected office would not do the same as President? If something bigger, better or more exciting came along, would a "President" Palin suddenly resign? Its flaky. Its irresponsible. It wouldn't be good for America. I find it odd that she resigned so fast because just last week she was challenging President Obama to a race. If Obama had done this, he'd be considered shrewd. If Reagan had done this, he'd also be considered shrewd. Palin clearly stated in her press conference that the "normal" routine for governors' who announce "not running for re-election" is to "milk" their remaining time in office by doing things to enhance their life after leaving their office. So let's be clear, if a Democrat Governor did this, they would have been praised by the media for looking out for their people. - She stole from money from her state for her children's travel, and the ethics committee made her pay it back.
- She still has to answer ethics charges about expensing her home, when she had the governor's home to live in.
- She lied about spending money on clothes during the campaign.
- She tried to lie about her husband being part of the Alaska Independence Group who wanted to succeed from the United States. – Her own teen daughter had lots of sex and got pregnant, and had more sex, had a baby' 'then' promoted abstinence.
- Her grandchild's mother was arrested on multiple drug charges.
- She has stupid public fights with anyone and everyone that is not under her control.
She is way over her head and needs to just get out of the public eye. But sadly, she will be spreading hate on FAUX News I am sure...it's the only place for her now.

She accomplished more in her 2 1/2 years as governor than the previous TWO administrations: from moving the gas pipeline past "talk", forward funding for education, education funding reform and increases, etc. This state is in better shape today than almost every other state, and a good part of that is because of her fiscally conservative leadership. I wish her well, and Prnell will continue to do an excellent job. All you nonAlaskans don't have a CLUE as to how she has guided our state. Go fix your own broke states first – oh yeah, the Feds will take care of you because you cant take care of yourselves!!

My niece (who lives in Alaska) told me by phone that she felt relieved that Sarah Palin resigned. She said that Palin destroyed their government's office of foreign affairs by cutting that budget to a one person office. My niece explained that Alaska needs foreign relations for trade but Palin missed the point of how important foreign trade is to Alaska. ( I am being polite and restating my niece's statements to keep the profanity out.) I may not have stated the correct government office title but you all understand what I mean.

1) She just isn't smart enough to go any further politically. Just listen closely to this last speech..drivelling..blather..that is actually somewhat embarassing for someone in this position of authority.

Sarah – I am not aware of anyone as self-serving as Sarah Palin. She reminds me of someone – who knows they are unqualified, but is determined to ride the wave until she ship wrecks.

Little 'innocent' Sarah broke out on the national stage with attacks against the media, attacks against President Obama, and attacks against a whole lot of good people whose only crime was to help "organize their communities". But community organizers defended their views and beat Palin at the poles where the fight really counts.

I thought she made it very plain in her statement. She will not allow any more money from the taxpayers to be used for defending stupid aligations. 2 million dollars is an awful lot in todays recession. Sarah knows what she is doing. She is saving the taxpayers money and will save her familys money. 2 million of taxpayer money and half a million of her own money. Why and who can fault her for that?

If Sarah Palin made this decision for herself, her family, and her beliefs, I have all the respect in the world for her and wish her the best of luck in everything she does.
