The repubilicans must have done something wrong. Everytime U turn around, at least 1 repubilican is doing something way out of line. Limbaugh throwing people out of his GOP, Arlen Specter quits the GOP, a few GOP men not faithful to their wives and the media goes wild, The Huckster attacking the GOP listening tour, Norm Coleman finally concedes the Minnesota Senate race, and now to top the charts Palin quits being governor?
Too bad they have a cure for venereal disease and Aids - so many of you writers would be put out of commision permanently.

I feel sorry for Palin...You guys are going to be sorry with these Democrats, but I know slime like you will turn from them too.

This country is getting scary - I am very much for helping the minority community get into the business community and the real world, but it is the "educated" community that I could see pulling another Mussolini or Ceucescu. The majority wants the new Mengele and Stalin technologies along with its sexual promiscuity and his/her ability to put the knife to anyone but him or her self. How nice! I am really frightened next election, because anything humane about the Republicans along with anything humane about the Democrats is going right out the door. A second Hitler anyone?

wow so many self righteous bigots, stigmatizing and denigrating a certain perceived group of "ignorant" Americans.
You are so tolerant of opposing views. You do not fear those who disagree, so open minded
Many of the commenters here are hate filled close minded and unhappy
Continue to deceive yourselves that you are caring, tolerant and open minded. You are unhappy hate filled bigots.
hatred spewing from your hearts and mouths, no openess, no dialogue, just pure hatred.
This hatred will come back to haunt you. If its not Sarah Palin you will find someone else.

The character assassinations of Sarah Palin continue. CNN, ABC and MSNBC all have very low ratings on TV, so the question needs to be asked as to where these people come from. Anyone who does not see things from a liberal point of view are marked for the most vicious attacks imaginable. The attacks are not limited to Sarah Palin alone, but also to her family. If being liberal means spewing vicious, unfounded character assassinations against anyone who views the world from a conservative point of view rather than debate the issues rationally then I am happy not to be liberal. The attacks are getting more and more despicable, but liberals are seeing themselves as more and more progressive.

Is this a case of a Rat leaving a sinking ship, a dilettante following an erratic career path or quitting before delivering the pipeline she said she delivered (it's Trans-Canada Pipelines call) or a mom deciding a little late that her special needs child should might need some extra attention, or or other children might need he .... in any event, she will make the Democrats happy if she is the Republican Nominee for President in 2012. The democrats will be very supportive of her candidacy.

Governor Palin made the smartest Political move for the Republican Party Ticket now and 2012 Presidential Election and to sell a book for $7 million, if she has to run against Obama, who I voted for, or against Hillary Clinton who I did not vote for, but Hillary Clinton has the one job now that qualifies a woman to be president of the United States and if the Republican Party was not so prejudice they would have talked Condalisa Rice into running in the Primary Election against Obama and Hillary because Rice's job put her in the category of women like Margaret Thatcher in the Argentina war and Golden Mier in the Olympic Terrorists attack! WAKE UP REPUBLICAN'S I DON'T LIKE THE SOCIALIST Democrats that followed President Bush's example of "Welfare for Corporate Fat Cats that ship American jobs overseas along with the Manufacturing equipment and our national Resources for CHEAP LABOR! If any Country other than the U.S.A. is importing more than they are exporting plus exporting American jobs, please let me know so I can visit them in the Mental Ward because if a Country's tax base relies on income taxes and you don't let the American workers earn income we are going to go broke with paper money not worth the paper it is printed on and HYPER Inflation to replace a Recession!

I have to wonder why she is 'moving on' in the middle of her term as governor. Is there something bad blowing in the wind or did a high ranking RNC official talk her into it 'for the good of the party"? Should be interesting to find out - and we will if there is anything really going on.

A Republican source close to her political team told CNN that it was a “calculation” she made that “it was time to move on.” The governor’s “book deal and other issues” was “causing a lot of friction up” in her home state, the source said, adding that he believes that she is “mapping out a path to 2012."
_______________________________________________________

What does "the book deal and other issues was causing a lot of friction up in her home state"??? That's just strange. Why cant she write a book, or continue to be governor? Something's odd.

Seriously, with 52% of Americans not knowing who the leader of the GOP is, the far-right is in deep trouble!

Yes, Palin spoke like a true conservative. About every dumb and bizarre thing she said was reminiscent of something a brain-dead conservative would say. Now how about you take your stupid remarks and get lost along with Palin?

I'm going to wait and see how far Palin is "moving on" before I start cheering. About a week of her not being in the news for some sort of bizarre comment or behavior ought to be a good indicator.

Come to think of it, maybe she's taking over Michael Jackson's concert tour. After all, they're two peas in a pod as far as strange behavior is concerned.

Palin is an irresponsible quitter. She should be ashamed of herself, the GOP should reconsider who calls themselves an elected republican. If the GOP is okay with this bizarre behavior by an elected republican, the party is lost. All we have to do is look at the national news to see the freaks who are elected under the banner of the GOP.

I wish her the best of luck with her life outside of politics. I doubt she plans on running for something again in the future, considering that she just took her political career back behind the woodshed and shot it.

I mean, if someone quit their job as a the governor of a state, I'm sure as heck never going to vote for them to be President of the United States. I doubt Alaska will replace their existing Republican senator with someone who quit being Governor, and it will be over five years until their Democrat senator is up for election (2014).

How dare you leave your responsibilities when your state is going through an economic crisis?

you may take pride in being called a maverick, but it shows no character to leave your office just because you cannot get anything done.

Now why would ANYONE want you to be president after you've flaked out of your job?

guess this level of "executive experience" was too much. i'm relieved. now she's not going to be running for president. one who cannot finish a term as governor for a state smaller than seattle, houston, etc. surely shouldn't be promoted to such an important position. looks like adulterer newt and mormon romney are the last men standing. too bad romney's own party has hang-ups with his religious choice.

drummajor66,

you're kidding right, Obama running for whitehouse, winning, and transitioning from Senate into Presidency is the same thing as quiting in a middle of your term for.....?

It is this 75 IQ Republican mentality why the country is in the state it is, ass far as Alaska being in a good state, it is very easy to be in a good state when for every dollar you pay to the federal government you get 2.25 dollars back. Try being California and only getting 75 cents back. I guess that is why Californian freeways are crumbling and Alaskans are building a bridge to nowhere.

Palin spoke out like a true conservative. She was candid and pointed out what she had done for Alaska in in 2 years with great accomplishments in a true partisan working relationship, which Obama failed to do. She even vowed to work behind the desk with whoever becomes the governor to advance what is best for Alaska. You democrats left wing radical should start listening to what Palin is saying again without the teleprompter and notes at best! Palin is the true and honest politician so far!

She is absolutely correct about it being time to move on........time to move on from being "waterboarded" with Micheal jackson gossip and trivia by all of the so-called news networks. I was on Micheal jackson overload since last Friday and being kept in the dark concerning world affairs and politics. The events in Iran and north korea did not just suddenly dissapear, the conomic situation didn't just miraculously fix itself, health care and the energy bill didn't fix themselves either, they were pushed aside and ignored by the so-called news networks .

As far as sarah palin goes, I think she lives in a bizzaro-world all of her own making. But I have to thank her for being the breaking point at wich "actual news" was once again brought to the forefront.

CNN, you need to put up the entire video of Palin's speech to fully grasp what comes from her heart without the teleprompter, (unlike Obama) , much less no notes to peak into while she delivered her astounding rehash of what she had for Alaska. She did speak from her heart and this what the democrats are so scared about.....this is why they want to destroy her. Come one CNN, be fair and balanced! Do not be like MSNBC!

Just as all the GOP presidential hopefuls were dropping like flies and I thought Palin was regrettably the only hopeful who was still standing, she comes and quits because responsibility is just too much for her.
