Jbird,

I assure you that liberals have no fear of Sarah Palin. What they do have is a deep resentment of someone calling their patriotism into question for not agreeing with her views.

People who seek to divide the country by calling those areas where she is popular the "real America" is an insult that only a demagogue would throw out.

In my mind, she is sowing the hate she herself reaped.

Marissa
You are allowed to have your own opinion, never denied that. And yeah maybe 9/11 could have been avoided,I wasn't to into politics when it happened so I cant make much of a point on the intelligence he gathered. However, maybe al-qaeda would of never become a threat if Clinton would of stopped accepting money from the terrorists not to take bin lawdon out.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brad I suggest you read the 9/11 commsion report. Also Clinto was bombing al-quaeda camps. Bush stopped doing eveything that Clinton was doing. It took Bush three press conference before he finally know how to pronounce al-aqaeda. He never met with the administartion terroists expert in 1:28 on 9/11/01, Even though Richard Clark was begging for a meeting, Clinton, on the other hand met with Clark every morning. Read the report...educate yourself to the facts...bush blew it!

This statement from RGA says a lot. They don't give a crap about our states, our nation, or anything else. All they care about is control of government. It's no wonder things go to crap, especially the economy, when they are in control. I wish they would all just focus on keeping their extra-marital affairs and stay out of government.

To those obsessed with Obama, read a bit the stament by RGA:

The RGA’s focus remains firmly on the gubernatorial elections in New Jersey and Virginia this year, and the 37 gubernatorial elections that will take place in 2010. We know that winning these races is the most important task facing our Party over the next two years.”

I would think that the RGA is suggesting that gov Palin has been thrown under the bus. Remember, gov Palin had to pay back money that she embezzled from the state of Alaska. She might be in a very difficult situation. Let's see how this whole thing plays out

No sympathy for Sarah Palin. With her attacks against the media as she broke out on national stage; to the lies accusing President Obama of "paling around with terrorist"; to her divisive speeches and attacks against "community organizers; PALIN HAS EARNED HER UNDIGNIFIED SEND-OFF.

Good riddance to a bad politician. Period. Sticking up for Palin makes about as much sense as some of her interviews did...NOT VERY MUCH (in case her supporters needed help deciphering my witty sarcasm).

This goes to show her ignorance not only as a politician, but as a human being. She has swayed Republicans around the nation to vote across the lines, she was the target of comedy shows, news broadcasters of all kind, and was generally to blame for McCain's loss in the election (thank you for this much...)

But seriously. Nobody with half a brain likes Sarah Palin. She practically stumbled through any interview she had, she sounded like a complete and total moron, and there is no excuse for such behavior when a person runs for the second most powerful seat in the country.

So good riddance to her. I personally look forward to her not making it past the primaries, and even more to the chuckles she'll provide me with when she can't answer a single question during an interview.

I'll say this as politiely as I can...... the woman is not very smart. As an example of a female politician, she is an embarassment . Truely, her only asset is her physical beauty.

I had forgotten how awful a public speaker Palin is: she rambles incoherently or else lurches from one point to another racing to the end of her sentences without any pauses or pacing. I actually had to leave the room because listening to her is so painful.

We are afraid that the American public will once again get suckered in by a person spouting their "born-again Christianity" and their pride in their total ignorance about anything of importance. Been there (8 years), done that. And our country is a mess because of it.

NoTelePrompTer: Yes, Palin did lie about Obama when she said he "palled around with terrorists." Being on a board with someone who in the past threatened our government is like saying Palin is a pothead because her almost-mother-in-law sold dope.

She lied when she denigrated Obama's work as a community organizer - tell that to the real people in real neighborhoods that Obama helped. BTW, he never up and quit when things got hard.

She lied when she denied instigating the people at her rallies to yell threats of assassination and violence towards then-candidate Obama.

The woman wouldn't know the truth if it bit her in the behind.

So just imagine if in 2012 she did get elected as president (yeah, right!).

Anyway, once the going got tough and her political opponents criticized her policies and world leaders weren't fawning all over her, what would she do?

She'd QUIT!

The woman is a flake and a narcissist. I also bet one of her closest advisors is Karl Rove (she is, afterall, a female version of George W. Bush).

The only I fear from this woman is her ability to convince simple-minded people into liking her. All our country needs is a female version of George W. Bush: Under-educated, incapable of speaking correct English, swagger and shoot from the hip, holier-than-thou, fear-mongering, egocentric, and pretty much DUMB!

Thanks - but no thanks!

She is not as dumb as she appears, theres money to be made out there and she is aiming to get it. Now if the political career happens then for her thats a extra bonus, this woman is looking to get rich. That was the conversation she had with the family, do you want to be rich/wealthy or do you want me to continue with this job as Governor and not have a chance to cash in on my popularity while I can, and of course you hear her one person in her family said 'Hell Yes" to her decision.
The woman is a joke for the Republican but not a idiot when it comes to looking after her own needs.

Also if she was going to make this statement today, why was Todd away on a fishing trip. I believe he was just in the dark as the rest of the public, she decides her own way, usually down the road to destruction but this time she's out for the money.

Marissa, if you're in the top 10% income in the Chicago area then you must be a government employee. Too bad with all that money you can't get a little more education in subjects like history and economics then maybe your position would be different. I just see the same old lame liberal democrat end game, when you can't attack the politics you attack the person. How about let's clean house of all "career politicans" in DC and start anew in 2010 & 2012, how could we do worse?

WHAT A HYPOCRITE! In Sarah Palin resignation she indicated that one of the reasons she is resigning is because she is tired of the political attacks. WHOA!!! It was Palin who attacked the media at the 2008 RNC, and she also made famous the lie that candidate Obama "pals around with terrorist".

Supposed she got elected this past November and the same situation occurs (not being able to work with people, job too tough, etc.)...what would she do then? Just quit?

It doesn't matter if it's a democrat or a republican...quitting mid-game is not really presidential.

Sarah "Hillbilly" Palin knows that she would NOT be re-elected in Alaska in 2012 - and that her entitlement dream of leading the GOP the presidential nominee would become impossible. After all, she spends more time trying to get on national TV than doing the "people's work" for the state she represents.

Or maybe she heard that Katie Couric was planning on interviewing the current Governor of Alaska next month?

She is going to prove that ANYONE (no matter how inept) can get rich by spouting lies and being just plain stupid. She will no doubt start making the rounds of Repug chicken dinner fundraisers and the religious kooks as well as all the in-breds in the right wing will actually pay to hear her babble on and on about nothing of substance. This will happen unless of course another out of wedlock pregnancy is in the offing for one of her children. Oh, I forgot, this is a self righteous soul that I'm speaking about so that really wouldn't matter.

Palin may have resigned as governor so she could focus her attention on running for the Senate in 2010. Lisa Murkowski, Republican Senator from Alaska is up for re-election at that time. For Palin, this makes more sense than a 2012 run for the Presidency. As a U.S. Senator, Palin could still make a run for the White House in 2016 -- true, she would be a Junior Senator, but that didn't stop Obama from running (and winning) in 2008.

If you're still hoping for a Palin GOP ticket in 2012, read the Vanity Fair exposé on her, out this month. Not a pretty picture...

She did not lie about Obama. You cannot give me one example of that. Unless you assume that Obama is the great truth teller.
--------------

Lie #1: "Obama is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate"

Lie #2:"Today, we learned that Obama’s decisions continue to impact Alaskans; while we as taxpayers now own General Motors, Obama closes another dealership – this time in Soldotna as more of Alaskans’ hard-earned money and jobs are lost to big government."

I got a lot more of them but then why should I do the research for your ignorance? Try picking up a newspaper ... maybe you wouldn't so brainwashed by your Bible thumping leaders.

I will be most surprised if this comment is included. The last time I sent one in that was complimentary to Sarah Palin, it was not. Sarah Palin is NOT a quitter. She explained perfectly well why she is "stepping down". The media has been, and continues to be, grossly unfair to her.

Oh, and Marissa, Jordan offered to get Bin Laden for Clinton. But Clinton did not want to get his hands dirty, and that is a fact not an opinion.

GWB had to make difficult decisions for this Country that were not popular. But they are decisions that Clinton was not man enough to make and decisions that Obama will have no idea what to do when and if something happens on his watch.

Question 2: what does this have to do with Obama? can we please stop associated every move made by someone having something to do with Obama, I am absolutely 100 percent sure she did not have a conversation with President Obama before she made this decision.

We laugh at Palin because we FEAR her? No, we laugh at Palin because she makes it so easy to do so just by opening her mouth. The only FEAR I have about Palin is that she was one heartbeat away from being the POTUS. But, she would have quit after 2.5 years anyway...so maybe she could have shot Osama bin Laden like a wolf from her helicopter while looking out over the Russian terrain. See...that's why we laugh!

Well, now she's free to make gobs of money off of the faithful palinites and pay people to keep reality away.

And she doesn't have to learn a thing!

The GOP definitely seems to have filled its ranks with a number of brilliant social models. Cheating hypocrites and self-serving whine-bags seem to make up the elite of this party...

First let me address Palin's Press Release, with jumping all over the map on why she is stepping down, is nothing more than a coverup of the truth. What I take away from her comments is that she cares absolutly nothing about Alaska, only her own ambitions of making more money now that she in very small circles is a celebrity. Or if the rumors are true about a criminal investigation then I say let the chips fall where they may.
One things is for sure, the reasons she gave today is for the good of the Alaskian people is not the truth. Uselly when a politician step down so abruptly is they are about to charged with something. So I say to all you Palin fan, dont be so stupid to believe this woman.

I admire Palin for stepping down, unlike some of those Democrats and Republicans who refuse to do what is right for our country...you know Blago and Sanford. However, knowing this message board, I fully expect to hear a ton of cheers from our LIBERAL NUTJOBS and and a HUGE SOB from our RIGHTWING FANATICS.

I am surprised there wasn't more hateful and obnoxious comments from the peanut gallery on here, but I suspect it is a Friday and everyone is ready to enjoy their July 4th.

And I want to applaud our IDIOT parade of posters: NIKI, Tim, AMN, Darth Vadik, Barbara, RUTY et. al.

Look it is clear that no what the LIBERAL NUTJOBS on here would have said "She should QUIT" and if she didn't "She is a QUITTER" either way it was a lose, lose for her. Where are the moderates around here? It seems like this forum is full of children.
