White House responds to unrest in China

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has issued the following statement about the situation in Western China:

"We are deeply concerned over reports of many deaths and injuries from violence in Urumqi in western China. Reports, so far, are unclear about the circumstances surrounding the deaths and injuries, so it would be premature to comment or speculate further. We call on all in Xinjiang to exercise restraint."

Just like Iran. Just roll over and say nothing strong. Just as Sec Clinton said in her trip to China, Human rights takes a back seat to the economy.

China owns us now, so let's not hack them off by complaining about something as trivial as human rights.

The Uighrs have ties to al queda and the taliban so the only option for dealing with them is probably force. If you don't meet violence with violence, you can not win.

The peaceful practitioners of Islam are in the center of it again. Will the moderate Muslims ever speak up?

@ Mississippi Mike, who said "If you don't meet violence with violence, you can not win."

Tell that to Jesus, Ghandi and MLK.

CNN Post. The secretary of state also expressed concerns about this, not that CNN would post it, they only want to slam her.

Premature? It takes this OhNobama an eternity to think of ANYTHING!!! to respond on to Act on to Do. Party on, Obie, answer world decisions – "when you have time – duh" after your vacations, date nights, luaus, burger runs, ballgame throws. What do the children do inRussia? or anywhere else in these foreign countries? Good resumes, right – for their upcoming political freys and ?bok sales? market on Obie – childrens books 'on the way' Russians wear fur!! That should be the start if honesty is involvd. That should SELL at home. Along with Michele's newest updated wardrobe BELTS.

The question here is"Where are all the internet users"? Where are all
the Tweeters?......It is obvious to all that China is an Economic Giant that cant be tampered with, There disrespect for Human Rights is so clear. They get away with it because of there economic clout.
It happened in tiannamen, after the Olympics,Tibet and now in Urumqi.
China is able to shut all communications down and that is that.
We will never learn the real story about the suffering of these people.
You will not see the same international conemnation as we saw in Iran.
    It wont happen.

"Unclear about the circumstances"? That's easy - they're a Muslim minority in China, trying to gain a little freedom, and the state is attempting to crush them because of it. Surely someone in the White House can figure that out.

    Thank You Congressman King.
    Right On
More members of Congress should stand up and speak the obvious truth, as Mr. King has.

They won't. Because no politician on either side cares about poor people no matter what their skin color. Until the proles go to the polls, they'll keep getting shot full of holes. Have a nice day!

CNN. the most trusted name in news ! ....REALLY..? As told by a reliable source :"CNN news is now tabloid time" and most annoying
"Thanks CNN...for being a one story tabloid for days without end" this weaned me off CNN completely and hopefully millions of viewer more.
