L'AQUILA, Italy (CNN) - President Barack Obama revealed to G-8 colleagues at a dinner Wednesday that he's planning a nuclear security summit in Washington for next March, according to senior administration officials.
Obama first raised the idea of bringing major nations together for such a summit earlier in the week at a news conference with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Obama said then he would like a follow-up summit held in Moscow to deal with the thorny issue of preventing nations like Iran and North Korea from getting nuclear weapons.
But getting G-8 members like Russia to sign on to new sanctions against Iran is proving difficult for Obama.
The senior administration officials added that a G-8 declaration condemning the recent post-election violence in Iran will stop short of sanctions.

I sure do like our new President.
I believe that if the States that have received (and will receive) stimulus money put it to use as soon as they get it, things will start turning around.
Some states seem to be sitting on the money or using it for other things, and then their Senators complain and whine about no jobs.
We need someone to check on why this is happening.
Here's the thing. At the last G 20 Summit, they said the 'involvement of the emerging Nations would be [required] for Global economic recovery'.
That is a lot of good TALK, and they will Talk for the next 30 years.
ALL THEY have to do is GO BACK 30 years to the people who started the Fair Trade movement.
Ask THEM what they saw coming. HIRE them to set World Trading policies!
It is time to STOP chasing cheap labour!
Obama does not know what to do. He has no idea. He wants to spend tax-payers money. He took his family all over Europe spending our tax-payers money. He is a hypocrite.

Obama's pandering to other countries is getting sickening. Meanwhile, N. Korea is flexing it's nuclear muscle not to mention Iran's contempt toward the US.
