I totally agree that has Obma been honest upfron before his election he would not be sitting in the WH now. Of course that can be fixed if we the people impeach him. He is dishonest, he fixed his election. he did nothing but lie and hides behind smokescreens to gedt his agend accross. He is a disgrace to the American people, black or white. He is keeping racial issuses alive instead of trying to fix them.
when will it be enough already? Jeb Bush is so right in saying what he did.

Uh, I think your confused. It sounds like you're talking about Bush. Remember him? WMD's, massive tax breaks for the rich, gynocologists practice their love of women. You know, the liar and his buddy Cheney. You remember him?

Kevin in Ohio   July 9th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

All you liberals mischaracterize the GOP...we are not the "party of NO". We are the "Party of No Way in Hell are the Dems gonna destroy the country". There needs to be an opposing view in our country....quit trying to silence us like Ahmedinejad!

HJA   July 9th, 2009 2:45 pm ET

Stop making videos and tell us how your'e going to solve the country's problems. We already know you can screw up the economy. Did a fine job there. So how are you going to correct what YOU caused? All I ever hear is We are right, you are wrong, do it our way. State your solution or shut up. With global warming we don't need your hot air.

John in Rochester MN   July 9th, 2009 2:42 pm ET

This reminds me of Franken's awesome commercial. "Al Franken hates these puppies. Al Franken sunk these ships." Of course, Repubs didn't get it because they lack the irony gene. Then again, what do they get? They certainly don't understand what the American public wants/needs.
I really love the Steny Hoyer quote taken enormously out of context. Of course they're not happy with the results yet. There's still another 80% or so of the stimulus money to go out, so how much improvement could there really be? Ridiculous.

John   July 9th, 2009 2:41 pm ET

What is the RNC's Plan? It's one thing to throw stones, but what is the alternative. Until the GOP can express an actual plan for recovery, then they need to shut up and figure out what they did wrong to create this mess in the first place.

MCD, SF, CA   July 9th, 2009 2:38 pm ET

Remember, the republican party is SHRINKING... they don't have the same clout they use to have. A huge amount of people have left the republican party over the last 2 or 3 years. Just remember that when you hear their silly demands or when you hear poll numbers.

Beverly in NC   July 9th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

And exactly what PLAN does the Republican Party have to restore America? Last I heard, it was to DO NOTHING and let America fail. Wow, what great patriotism and leadership!

Republicans must be terrfied because our nation is recovering on all fronts and you sat on the sidelines and did nothing but criticize and whine and complaiin about everything.

America is well on its way to recovery and all of our success happened with NO Republican help, votes, or ideas.

Lies like this video are just useless attempts to divert attention from your failure as a Party. President Obama is doing a wonderful job and you have done NOTHING. You are the Party of Do-Nothings. Lie all you want. Americans are not fooled. We know who has been working for our recovery and who has done nothing but call for our failure.

A second stimulus plan is exaclty what we need to finish our recovery and that is why you oppose it. You can't stand how wrong and useless you have been. The voters you betrayed with your attitude of NO will make sure you are repayed by not being re-elected in 2010.

Bill in Illinois   July 9th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

Well naturally the Republicraps will blast it. Seeing as how they have decided to make everything about partisan politics and forget about doing anything productive could we expect anything less?

Perhaps they should review some of their accomplishments during the time that doobyah was in office. If they can find any meaningful accomplishments to review that is. Oh right, there are always earmarks. They can be proud of some of those!!

Mike b   July 9th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

I can spot a Republican blindfold, they want the country to fail, they want Ford and GM to fail, they want American Industry to fail, and they want all jobs exported and all goods imported, yet they are always talking about how American they are.

FORMER republican, NEVER again!   July 9th, 2009 2:31 pm ET

DO the republicans have any ideas or plans on how to fix this country they destroyed other than to try and tear down our President who is actually working very hard to fix this country?

Dave   July 9th, 2009 2:27 pm ET

They should blast him. Every single one of you should. He is spending money WE DO NOT HAVE!! He is bankrupting the entire country for what? Socialism. Control and power. Everyone can't live at a high standard, people are NOT equal, so socialism's solution, knock everyone down to a low level so they are all equal. That is what the far left lead by Obama and Pelosi are doing right now and most of you on this site are completely clueless.
Wake up America.
Look at California giving out "IOUs."

That is where socialistic policies have lead them. Look at any inner city, that is where welfare state "tax and redistribute" policies have lead them.
It does NOT work. It hasn't for 60 years. We hit a snag with the economy, a recession that is normal and comes in cycles, and you all panic and sit back and watch this president spend more than all other presidents COMBINED. It is absolutely criminal.
Again
WAKE UP AMERICA

Never mind

Bridgette   July 9th, 2009 2:25 pm ET

I would really like to hear what solutions they have. They always have these big news conference about their ideas but yet never have anyting complete. They never have any details any numbers with their so call ideas. I say enough already stop trying to sabbatoge this man. Because in that process you are affecting the American public that they so call care for. All they care about is destroying Obama the actuall President at any cost.

When will the GOP stop wasting money? Everyone already knows that the GOP is against EVERYTHING President Obama and over 80% of the American people are for.

The only people buying their scare tactics are the same fringe groups and right wing extremists that have made the GOP their new home.

No one else is listening. They have cried wolf too many times.

Jason   July 9th, 2009 2:12 pm ET

I think it is funny how they put the deficit of $1.8 Trillion dollars and try to pin that on President Obama. They were in office the last 8 years and most of that is from the Republican's policies. Do they really think the American people are that stupid to believe this? That video is political fraud and misrepresentation. The RNC owes Obama an apology. New Age Democrat   July 9th, 2009 1:58 pm ET

@John

A Welfare State is probably a more accurately description of what Obama is trying to accomplish. However, the concept of a Welfare State is still deeply rooted in Socialism.

Your comments are Capitalism indicate that you dont have a grasp on that concept either. Perhaps a class at a local college would do you some good?

"The Founders of our Constitution never intended that Capitalism should become a heaven for Criminals, Crooks and Scoundrels to becoming rich by defrauding the middle class. Wall Street, AIG, Bank of America, and most Insurance Companies Executives have thrived by defrauding, misleading and embezzling people."

No of course not. Nor does it indicate that any form of government should endorse such practices. Are you saying that Socialism/Welfare states don't defraud, mislead, and embezzle? I think your perspective is incredibly naive and ignorant.

Cali J   July 9th, 2009 1:53 pm ET

Please, can we get something straight here. To all of you who keep stating that "the last 8 years" is the problem here, let's examine.
The Dems have held both houses now for almost 4 years! The economy, the housing crisis has all come about during this time, while two wars are still being funded (Afghanistan is Escalating). Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac are squarely on the shoulders of Barney Frank and the Dems. There were only 23 Senators who voted against Iraq, that means that the were plenty of Dems on Board. (Clinton, Kerry, Etc.) In the first 6 years of Bushes term, this country experienced it's lowest ever unemployment rate, and fastest economic growth period in history. You house was worth twice as much as today, and this country was a much happier place. So Please, stop with the nonsense of the last 8 years being the problem today. You Dems own everything that is on Obamas table and he's in way over his head. Oh yeah, if GWB spent too much, what do you call it when Obama spends more than all of his predecessors combined? It's time to stop blaming Bush, and the term "the party of NO", that's getting old too.

"GM, Chrysler and probably Ford would be shut down and millions more would be unemployed (counting company employees, dealer employees and various small businesses who made a living serving the automakers and their employees.)"

- you mean like where these are heading now? Thousands are laid off every few days and Detriot is being turned into a ghost town.

"We would probably have massive layoffs in state governments across the country."

-you got me there. thank goodness massive layoffs are happening in the private sector instead

"The gap between the wealthy and the middle class in this country has widened to an all time high."

-right. now we all get to be poor. that's much better

So, when Bush was in the White House, were the Democrats the party of No? How many issues were tabled in committee when the Democrats were in charge of them, never to receive a fair up or down vote? To be quite honest, I'm sick of this label. I don't lean so far to the left that I believe this nonsense.

If "NEW" ideas is what you are looking for, then why did you vote for Obama? Exactly what is "NEW" about his policies? Every day I see examples of him continuing a Bush policy, or backtracking on promises he made during the campaign? Both parties at times have good ideas.

TRUTH   July 9th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

'Any basic study of economics will demonstrate that as you remove resources from the economy (taxes), those resources are no longer available for productive use (business generating value and paying employees) UNLESS THOSES TAXES ARE USED, OTHERWISE the standard of living for everyone declines.'
Because liking you or not, TAXES are needed. How to keep Army Forces without them? Police, firefighters and such? If the funds provided by those TAXES are misused, then let's find out who was responsible and throw him or her or them in jail!
Besides, TAX CUTS (whom you implicity defends) alone and unsupervisioned doesn't work by themselves. Some of the money is used productively, another part ends up in someone's pocket.

Hey Barb it was Clinton not Bush that signed the trade agreements. You can't blame everything on Bush. The housing crisis was not caused by Repubs it was crafted by Dems pushing housing legislation for low income families. This is a government problem not a party problem. We need to blame them all instead of letting them divide us for their lousy agendas.

New Age Democrat   July 9th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

Republicans aren't the only people that don't believe in the Obama stimulus plan. It contains billions in fraudulent spending that have nothing to do with getting the economy back on track. Obama lost my vote on this fact alone, and he'll not get it back unless something changes dramatically.

Is Obama a Socialist? I don't think so, but I'm growing very concerned about how the government wants to move money around to cover such huge expenditures without having any kind of viable plan. While the Republican plan may not have all the details either, Democrats should also admit that Obama's is just as bad. you can't forget either that Democrats were essentially in control of congress for 2 years during the Bush administration. It would be interesting to see when the economy really lost steam, as it was moving along fine for some time. The blame here should be shared. If Barney Frank is any indication of the Democrat competence, then the party is in dire trouble. The man is completely incompetent.

For those saying tax cuts don't work, had better go back and do their homework. This I agree with the Republicans, you don't encourage growth by stifling business. The costs are always passed down to the consumers.

Once You Vote Black   July 9th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

The GOP has been beaten to a stand still. They have been whooped in the Senate and trounced in the House. The talent differential is mind boggling. Obama's victory was a landslide when you consider a Jr. Sen. destroyed a Sr. Sen. who is a war hero. And now we are taking over the Court. This is why the GOP is so happy to see that only 70% of the voters said said the president is a strong and decisive leader instead of 80%. You know you are a looser when your only argument for why you should be elected is because the other guys have everything. No matter how good or bad Obama does in office the right will never be able to erase the fact that a Blackman stomped the entire GOP by not only beating a nice clean war hero, but also ushered in a congress with a bulletproof majority! You guys go whooped.

Danny J   July 9th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

There's a reason why Obama's approval ratings are nearing George Bush's: Obama didn't help the problem, he made it worse! how in the world do you expect a stimulus plan to undo all the wrongdoings of our economy in a span of just five months. Obama was the one who warned us that it would get worse before it gets better. Repubs are so quick to blame and bring Obama down...give the stimulus some time. its only been five months.

Dave   July 9th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

Why is that when anyone says anything even remotely critical of anything the Obama Administration is doing, that the first line of defense is "it's better than the party of NO" or "Republicans have no ideas" or "Tax cuts for the rich is our problem".

If our Government does not govern then it is up to the people to voice our concerns. This is not a blast at President Obama, it's all directed towards Congress. President Obama did NOT come up with the $787B unstimulus plan, Nancy Pelosi did. It's not President Bush or President Obama who drove our economy into the ditch, it's Congress and the Fed albeit with LOTS of help from both administration's Treasury dept's.

The sad thing that the right doesn't understand is that when the American people want something(ie: healthcare w/ a public option), we don't mind getting taxed for it. VP Biden said a while back that paying taxes is a patriotic thing to do and the right wing nutjobs thought this was a gaffe. NEWSFLASH: He was right! Eric Corcoran   July 9th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

The problem with the ad is that it is a bad cut and paste job. Can we ever hear the real question asked to Obama that got the "nothing" response? How about getting the rest of the speeches from Biden or the senator that is supposedly saying that Dems aren't standing behind the current plan. On top of all of this, let us remember there are many states afloat right now on the "bad" stimulus plan. I am also curious to know how many moderate and other republicans support the proposed 2nd stimulus. At this point I most certainly agree with Zinn that the two party system is strictly there to lull us into complacency and that both parties are just serving their own needs. Luckily, at this point, their needs are the same as the rest of the middle and lower class, the system is failing and they are scrambling to save it.

Voice: "A budget deficit of 1.8 trillion."
Chyron: DOUBLING THE NATIONAL DEBT

There is a word used to describe a statement that deviates significantly from the truth. Obama may have increased the budget deficit, but his budget did not double the national debt. Google it.

Reagan doubled the national debt. George Bush (the good one) increased it by 50%. George Bush (the other one) doubled the national debt.

The current national debt is about $10.5 trillion. About 75% of that amount was created during the Reagan-Bush-Bush years. That is to say, Reagan-Bush-Bush added about $7.5 trillion to the national debt during GOOD ECONOMIC TIMES when we should have been paying the debt down. They were also decreasing taxes and lying to the voters about how this would result in a lower debt in the end.

Don't believe me? Google it.

Gee, I wonder where this country would be if the G-No-P had their way? The financial system would probably be in shambles. GM, Chrysler and probably Ford would be shut down and millions more would be unemployed (counting company employees, dealer employees and various small businesses who made a living serving the automakers and their employees.) We would probably have massive layoffs in state governments across the country.

If you look back to 1929, the Republicans in charge adopted a "do nothing" policy, waiting for business to come forward and pull the country out of the recession. By 1932, the country had sunk into a full time depression and it took another 8 years and then a world war to fix it.

Look at how well Republican economic policies have worked. The gap between the wealthy and the middle class in this country has widened to an all time high. Oh, and trickle down economics? The benefits trickled down to the middle class in India, China and other foreign countries. Thanks, but no thanks, G-No-P!

Wall Street, AIG, Bank of America, and most Insurance Companies Executives have thrived by defrauding, misleading and embezzling people.

I guess maybe Obama is a failure. I mean he has been in office 6 months and he hasn't cleaned up the mess the Republicans gave us after eight years. I guess the smart move would be to put the GOP back in charge. Obviously, the GOP could have cleaned this up in three months, after all they are so intelligent and everything goes just as planned whenever they are in charge. Outside of the wars, housing crash, economic meltdown and terrorist attacks, everything went quite well during the last Republican effort. Man were we stupid to want change!!!

Obama administration not truthful. With his spending program taxes must go up. Income and some type of value added tax so all Americans will pay an increase. Costs and expenditures must also be cut, which ones will be the question.

The administration knows this and hope they will not have to announce all of this before the 2010 elections. Unemployment will continue to
increase probably to 11% or 12%. We need a change in Washington.

Any basic study of economics will demonstrate that as you remove resources from the economy (taxes), those resources are no longer available for productive use (business generating value and paying employees), and the standard of living for everyone declines. Guess what, the decline is just getting started, and the big O wants to accelerate it.

The more poverty, the more misery, the more the non-tax paying voters depend on the government for bread crumbs, the more securely the Democratic party holds power.
____________

You hit the nail on the head. Democrats want nothing less than the perpetuation of their favorite constituency...the poor, uninformed, and needy. They intend to keep 'em all that way, and add to the roles.

For heaven's sake, the stimulus plan is not a miracle bill that can fix eight years of mismanagement in less than five months. Be realistic. Give it time. The states have to dispurse the money carefully on good projects and then the results will be shown. Perhaps there should be a list of how much each state got and then how they are using it. It might speed up the process if they had to be transparent. If the Republicans had won in November, they would have continued cuts for the rich and hoped for "trickle down" economic recovery and everyone knows how that works. It would have probably caused a depression in your country which would spread to all of the other countries. As for the job loss reports, don't forget that at this time of year the market is flooded with students who are also looking for jobs. It seems around here that a lot of people who look out of work on paper, are doing yard work, cutting grass, painting, doing household renovations and repair, babysitting , etc. and getting paid under the table. The number of job losses is decreasing which is a step in the right direction. Be patient people.

I know we have learned not to listen to the "rights" hate and will vote again to keep this country and it's values alive. We will never go back to the hate and war in my life time. When you look at how afraid and how hateful all the talking heads on the GOP side sound I KNOW WE REALLY WON.

I love it when the media blinded Dems say the Repub are the party of NO. Thank god someone is, or OB would have all my money already. The Dems are the party of NO. NO...you cannot read the bill, we are voting on it blindly. NO you can't have any amendments, Pelosi "we won we will rip the citizens off when and how we want to". NO, we don't care that congress' rating are at all time lows. NO, we don't care what the citizen's think about blindly spending money we don't have.

The repubs offered up a 12 page law in place of the 1300 page disaster called the porkulus. It simply said, take 1/2 of the amount the porkulus was going to be, and divide it up amongst the TAXPAYERS!!! Not the RICH, like no mind numbling stupid lemmings keep saying.

That would have instantly jump started the economy. But NO NO NO said the Dems, we need a train to Vegas along with all the other pork projects, so we can get re-elected with the brides.

I am ashamed of this president and the congress that is ruining this country. Tax cheats unite!!!! Let him spend his own money, I'm saving mine.

The Center   July 9th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

These videos by Republicans make light of the mess they got us into. I was not amused by Mr. Boehner making a joke by asking his hound if she "had found any stimulus jobs." That was about as funny as when Mr. Bush made that joke about "can't find the WMD's." The analogy is strong; Boehner and his ilk helped create the financial nightmare we're in now- and he jokes about it. Bush got us in an ill-planned war and then joked about it. Seems the Republican party is just full of Jokers.

Bob (Illinois)   July 9th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

@ Always Thinking... I'm not a Republican, but you shoud really do less thinking and more reading. Try not jumping on the "Republicans are the party of NO" bandwagon and think for yourself. They've tried to present plan after plan and amendment after amendment. The Dems have continually said "NO... we're not going to vote on this". Do some reasearch and quit listening and watching the same doltish pundits over and over. Live up to your name and then try adding "Independently" to the end of it.

I loveeee how the GOP thinks everything can be fixed in six months!!
If only we could have gotten rid of Bush/Chaney after six months. Then we wouldn't have been in the mess we are in and expecting our current President to come up with the magic formula to please everyone.

How soon we forget who promoted sending jobs to China, Mexico, Canada, Thialand, etc. Just how many products have you purchased lately with the "Made in the USA" label? If you do find them, how long did it take to find them? GHW Bush FIRST signed an agreement with foreign leaders!

Appaled in SC   July 9th, 2009 12:38 pm ET

I totally agree that has Obma been honest upfron before his election he would not be sitting in the WH now. Of course that can be fixed if we the people impeach him. He is dishonest, he fixed his election. he did nothing but lie and hides behind smokescreens to gedt his agend accross. He is a disgrace to the American people, black or white. He is keeping racial issuses alive instead of trying to fix them.
when will it be enough already? Jeb Bush is so right in saying what he did.

Mark   July 9th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

Instead of another stimulus let us bring forward the Fair Tax Act.

This will over haul our burdening tax system we currently have, increase business, and every citizen will receive a prebate check from the government each month to cover taxes on necessities. Also it will encourage those who do not presently pay into the system (foreign vistors, and those in illegal activities).

Please look into this Act.

It is not a tax cut nor a raise in our taxes. It is a replacement for what we currently have simplifying our lives and not have to worry about April 15th again.

EBC, MD   July 9th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

Are we surprised by the RNC's predictable mentality?

This whole argument about the Stimulus is completely STUPID. First of all, it's ONLY been 3 months since the Stimulus was issued, 3 months and the RNC is already preaching their "Holier than Thou" morales and judgement.

Not so surprising since it was those same Republicans who SPENT LIKE DRUNKEN and CHEATING SAILORS for 8 LONG YEARS and never thought about the consequences it would place on our economy or our children's future.

All of a sudden they are preaching about how our grandchildren will be responsible for the TRILLIONS in debt!!

HELLO? Didn't you Republican clowns think of this when you were SPENDING YOUR SILLY HEADS OFF for 8 years?

The GOP and RNC Leadership are nothing but cowards, they DID SOME SERIOUS DAMAGE UNDER George W. Bush, but all of a sudden the GOP Leadership's selective memory whenever it's politically convenient for THEM is truly disgraceful.

Shawn Kelly   July 9th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

Typical political crap. Only 6 months in and already the Republicans are slamming Obama for not cleaning up the mess they made fast enough. What a joke. 8 years of a moron can't be fixed in 6 months. Talk to me in 2-3 years and see where we are, it can't be worse!

Karen   July 9th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

I agree with Neilz, the only one who are profiting from the stimulus package or ever will ( big business, wealthy elite and international banks) are getting what they want. The rest of us will never see anything. I so wish the president would focus, focus, focus on the economy. He can not heal the country in the first year and righ now he is sending us down a dangerous economic path. Concentrate on the other projects later. I personally like my health care and do not want government telling me what and when I can be treated for illness.
ECONOMY!!!

When you only represent the interests of big business, we wind up with monopolies on drug manufacturers, insurance and health care, and environmental destruction of an epic scale. When you have 1 in 8 American's hungry, people going to Canada for prescriptions, going to Mexico, India and Taiwan for medical care since 45 million are uninsured......why should we as a nation put any faith in any of these leaders?

Want to make an impression? Stand up and say something intelligent. Abandon all the carping. It makes you seem old, out of touch, and useless.

But turn off the whine machine, the hate maching, the innuendo machine. We are all so over it.

The Republicans are betting against America. They want Obama to fail, thinking that the people will turn against Dems and return to the sour old Republican ways. A big bet, for sure. One of the big differences between socialism and capitalism is the methods used: socialism is basically to help all, not like capitalism which breeds more greed. Capitalism is also good to a point. When that point reaches the levels reached by AIG, Goldman-Sachs, Bof A, Bernie Madoff, Enron, etc then we have problem. Capitalism should reach everyone, but it doesn't. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, and where did all the tax breaks under Bush go.....to the wealthiest and the big corporations, ala Exxon (where they kept having record profits during the fuel crises because the could charge what they wanted).

freyrhyme0206@yahoo.com   July 9th, 2009 12:25 pm ET

GOP where are your plans? plans to fix economy, earn respect around the world, the fact is we are so much used to with Bushs' White House, controlled by Cheney and his team, Americans are so much fooled and tricked by Bush and Cheney and half of the population still believed that and like them so please stop complaining of Obama, he is taking one step a time, he has already restored respect around the world...Mr. Obama is doing what is best for everyone, there's no doubt about it, at least he is honest and a hard working President God bless you Mr. President your die hard supporter...

Kevin B   July 9th, 2009 12:24 pm ET

Mr Obama and his team will turn around the economy, however it will take time. The GOP will continue squeal like fat, spoiled babies and pray for failure for cheap political gain.

The GOP and Al Queda both pray for america's demise.

I Love that the crazy Dems are talking another Stimulus Plan.
They lied and said unemployment would not go above 8.
Now Barack wants to spend more.
JUST STOP NOW.

** So funny how the Republicans couldn't never tell when President Bush was running up the deficit! They should all take a note from Sarah Palin's book and quit!

Don   July 9th, 2009 12:24 pm ET

Obama’s poll numbers are going into the tank. It reflects serious misgivings about the administration's policies at a time when the bad consequences of those policies have not yet been felt. Taxes are going to rise; deficits are going to soar; unemployment will remain relatively high and growth relatively slow due to Democratic policies that weaken the economy, even after the current recession ends; and inflation seems almost inevitable. And that assumes the Democrats don't succeed in passing tax-and-trade or socialized medicine, in which case the adverse consequences will be much worse.

Kevin B   July 9th, 2009 12:22 pm ET

The willful destruction of the US economy by the previous administration is having the effect intended, which was to totally bust local, state and the federal government budgets and leave americans stuck in stagnant economy and divide the nation along economic lines.

Mr Obama and his team will turn around the economy, however it will take time. The GOP will continue squeal like fat, spoiled babies and pray for failure for cheap political gain. That is just they way they are.

louee   July 9th, 2009 12:22 pm ET

So David, you're argument is that all republicans aren't big company corporate guys? Well if they're not they're stupid, because the GOP has one agenda, and that is to keep the money solidly in the hands of the big company corporate guys. I've got a senator who rambles on every day against healthcare reform. What party? GOP. Like he gives a hoot for the people who comprise his constituents. That guy's days are numbered.

GI Joe   July 9th, 2009 12:22 pm ET

Boner told his constituents that jobs were being created several weeks ago (I saw the video of the speech).

He then went back to DC and said no job were being created (Isaw the video of that speech).

Ohio needs to put his feet to the fire and get the truth.

Mark of Saint Louis   July 9th, 2009 12:21 pm ET

Other than the economists that are in the tank for Obama, the vast majority of those who know anything about economics understand that the Obama plan wasn't going to work. The libs bought into it of course because of their mindless idol worship. The incoherent wasteful spending was the last thing our country needed.

Ben   July 9th, 2009 12:21 pm ET

Perhaps if the Republicans hadn't blocked so much of the direct spending in favor of tax cuts the stimulus would be working better.

Party of NO   July 9th, 2009 12:20 pm ET

Another great video filled with alternative solutions. Ha ha.

jeff   July 9th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

Stimulas plan will in the end cost much more than the 787 billion they say.
My next worry is the health reform and how they want to pay for it
1) they say raising taxes will fund part of health reform.
2) saving money from medicre and medicaid.
When was the last time any goverment said they will save money and actually save money.
It is 100% the opposite.
Anytime government gets involved in running anything it usually ends up costing double and triple their original estimates.
The stimulas is money being spent so it looks like they are doing something. When there is nothing they can really do

Obama 2.0   July 9th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

And to think the RNC wanted to do nothing, how much more screwed would we be?

Ken   July 9th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

Any basic study of economics will demonstrate that as you remove resources from the economy (taxes), those resources are no longer available for productive use (business generating value and paying employees), and the standard of living for everyone declines. Guess what, the decline is just getting started, and the big O wants to accelerate it.

The more poverty, the more misery, the more the non-tax paying voters depend on the government for bread crumbs, the more securely the Democratic party holds power.

Heidi   July 9th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

I won't to know why the media allows the crap to hipe either party to go on. It doesn't bring the country together. Their purpose is to product rating which we fall into that trap, bigger ratings means that those in media get to keep their job and paycheck.

Where is my gas tax granted free textbook that President McCain promised me? I voted for that one economic policy stance alone...the only economic policy stance that President McCain and Graham seemed to have (other than the fact that because I don't have a passport; henceforth I believe that all brown people are Muslims and all Muslims are Terrorists).....Country First!

Katty, DE   July 9th, 2009 12:18 pm ET

Oh there's a surprise. The RNC blasts everything because they are the Party of No. They won't be happy until the CEO of large corporations are back on the A list of Congress. They couldn't care less about the people.

President Obama is just the opposite of whatever the RNC says.. How do I know this? Because the RNC is jealous and can't stand the fact that this president of the people is successful.

Richie   July 9th, 2009 12:18 pm ET

Republicans - The party of old white men. Gotta love 'em. Soon they'll all be dead.

Melissa   July 9th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

Every time the Republicans open their mouths I'm hearing the "wah, wah, wah, wah, wah" from the Charlies Brown cartoons. Its just more whining. Sick to death fo hearing it. They can't do anything right, and now they're trying to shift the blame. Pity that some idiots in this country are falling for it. I thought the American people were brighter than that. Apparently I was wrong.

Fla.   July 9th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

Gee, more criticism from the Party of No. Are there ANY actual ideas you would like to share with the American people, RNC? NO?! I didn't think so....

How sad.

Paid for by the Republican National Committee   July 9th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

this committee still exists?

they must be near death because they are impode-ing at a fast rate

bye bye GOP

maybe the U.S. will get lucky and the independants will rise up in their place

Waiting for 2010 for real change   July 9th, 2009 12:17 pm ET

How can the Democrats actually try and defend that piece of crap pork filled stimulus/spending bill as anything other than a total failure? And to top it off they think another will do the trick. Spending tax payer money is NOT what stimulates the economy. You would think they could figure that out.

Bill O'Connell   July 9th, 2009 12:16 pm ET

Has anyone thought about letting people NOT buy health insurance? I do not have health insurance because I do not want it. If I get sick, I can pay for it. I am a single computer programmer in good health. If the government is concerned about people who cannot pay their medical bills, then why not say that you can abstain from buy health insurance on the condition that if you don't buy health insurance, you have to either pay your medical bills or the hospital can implement collections procedures such as wage garnishment. If you do get sick, you would be allowed a one year grace period from the time you are discharged from the hospital. The hospital would also be allowed to collect interest. It IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL to mandate the purchase of goods or assets because it violates the right of americans to own property.

Chris from NY   July 9th, 2009 12:15 pm ET

I can understand if these people are outraged but have a better plan than the one the President's presented. But they don't and that makes me wonder. If you critize the President's plans wouldn't it be better if you had an alternative plan? Apprarently not. It's much easier critizing than having an actual solution to the problem. That's why I don't watch much news anymore. The media don't report news anymore but buy talking points from whoever is selling them. It's even more troubling when the Democrats has left President Obama to fry all by himself. None of them really shows to these programs and defend the President's policies.

GOP = 21st century dodo   July 9th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

Another one of these? YAWN.

I'm willing to give Obama time. If it later turns out that there was no financial crisis and Obama was using it as an excuse to funnel billions of taxpayer dollars to his friends via no-bid contracts, then he should be held accountable.

(NOTE: The obvious allusion here is to Bush's false claims about Iraq and his funneling of billions of taxpayer dollars to his business/oil buddies, but the yokels that make up the GOP base might not pick up on this.)

Mike   July 9th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

The RNC has submitted many budget ideas to pelosi and reid and they will not even debate them. The idea of tax breaks for the rich by the RNC is all they support shows the ignorance of some voters. A lot of people want health care because they are to lazy to work, so they do not pay taxes to give away for the "free" health care.

Kendall   July 9th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

What If GM went bankrupt at the beginnig of the year and we had an extra 237,000 unemployed.

What if AIG declared bankruptcy and didn't have to pay claims. The Hudson River saving would a Hudsonrivergate.

What if we didn't make the intial investment in green jobs that is putting people back to work.

What if John McCain and Palin won in 2008 election.

Would we be fighting Iran? Would schools be getting upgrades? Would Palin be quitting right about now.

It's easy to Monday night quaterback, but the best man for the job got elected,

DEAL WITH IT

verbal garbage.

louee   July 9th, 2009 12:12 pm ET

These guys are absolutely pathetic. Their tactics are anti-american, in my mind, and the country should hold them accountable for it. I hope they lose every race. Why would anybody vote for a republican?

SLM   July 9th, 2009 12:12 pm ET

Ok let the blind defenses of the failed Obama policies begin!! Democrats your grace period to blame Bush is over and the mess being created is by your messiah Obama! Obama owns this economy.

VON BISMARK,Vienna.   July 9th, 2009 12:08 pm ET

Would these GOPers not learn their lesson? These tactics could not stop Obama from being elected. Are these job losses a consequence of OBAMA'S SIX MONTHS in office or the consequence of eight years of wars for Haliburton income?
Be at least truthful to the people you think they are second graders.

News for you. No Republican will sit in the WH before 2020.

Obamas bankrupting this country   July 9th, 2009 12:07 pm ET

Woa, that is great!! Truth hurts folks. Going to love the brainless on this board defending Obamas failed policies that will bankrupt this country. And Obamas response – Oops that didn't work, maybe we need another one. Doesn't take a brain surgeon to know their plan wouldn't work before they implemented it!! Now Please, get the credit card out of the Democrats hands!!

beth   July 9th, 2009 12:06 pm ET

Everyday it's the GOP blasting something....exactly what are their brilliant ideas for fixing the economy?

david   July 9th, 2009 12:05 pm ET

everyone seems to have criticism readily available but no one has a solution, a well thought out and planned solution, to the nation's economic problems. no one should be listened to when criticizing unless they have, can present a solution. not a fan of obama but he is trying to do something. if anyone has a solution, then call a press conference and present it to the nation. like, NOW.

MatthewDetroit   July 9th, 2009 12:05 pm ET

I Love that the crazy Dems are talking another Stimulus Plan.
They lied and said unemployment would not go above 8.
Now Barack wants to spend more.
JUST STOP NOW.

Socialist, YES.
He is now going to Tax the "rich" even more to pay for healthcare.
He cant afford it and neither can we.
Robbing from the rich to give to the poor is a crock.
Stop killing business.
He is just a thief and a socialist.
That is why HE "Barack" was the FIRST to speak out about the overthrow of the Socialist leader in Hondurus. He beat Chavez and Castro to the punch.
He likes the idea of changing the constitution for his benefit.
I voted against him, BUT I KNOW a lot of people that voted for OBAMA and thought he would govern from the center NOT RULE from the Left.
HE LIED.

David   July 9th, 2009 12:04 pm ET

All of these "stimulus" deals are garbage that are aimed to redistribute wealth into the international bankers and corporate shysters coffers. We have been robbed blind and we sit on our hands.

girlymen love the GOP   July 9th, 2009 12:03 pm ET

I think the antichrist will come from the republican party soon.

AlwaysThinking   July 9th, 2009 12:02 pm ET

Where's the GOP's plan? Ideas? Help for the American people?

Tax cuts for the wealthy don't work. Tinkle-down, voodoo economics don't work. The market does not correct itself. People are weary of hate- and fear-mongering. Dividing the American public doesn't help either.

Complaining is all the GOP has, because their policies were tried and failed. End of story.

Neilz   July 9th, 2009 12:02 pm ET

It's all smoke and mirrors. Both parties know the stimulus plans are working exactly the wat they want them too. Their benefactors, big business, wealthy elite and international banks are getting all the stimulus they need. Meanwhile, the American public is consigned to wait for help they know is never coming. No jobs. No housing market reform or assistance. No real healthcare reform. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer and are expected to sacrifice their children to further expand the American Empire. That's their plan. It's working exactly the way they want it to work.

David   July 9th, 2009 12:01 pm ET

I LOVEEEE how liberals claim Republicans are all BIG COMPANY CORPORATE guys...look in the mirror at your manipulative president:

Hey rethugs! And your idea for putting the economy back on track is?
Tax cuts for the rich and large corps don't count by the way, we already know they don't work – Just ask Bushie...

Dutch/Bad Newz, VA   July 9th, 2009 11:56 am ET

The RNC is always blasting or slamming anything the President does. Tell the Party of No, to come up with some NEW ideas. If all they're going to do is waste their fundraising money on attack ads, they obviously haven't learned anything from the 2008 election.

Bill   July 9th, 2009 11:53 am ET

Did we really think the RNC was going to praise President Obama?
