Everyone is so busy attacking Obama. Not everything of his is going to work but at least he is doing something. Republicans criticize but dont have any answers for the criticism. My grandmother always used to say "dont complain about the problem unless you have a solution." I wonder why my grandmother could figure that out but not politicians.

Why is that when anyone says anything even remotely critical of anything the Obama Administration is doing, that the first line of defense is "it's better than the party of NO" or "Republicans have no ideas" or "Tax cuts for the rich is our problem".

If our Government does not govern then it is up to the people to voice our concerns. This is not a blast at President Obama, it's all directed towards Congress. President Obama did NOT come up with the $787B unstimulus plan, Nancy Pelosi did. It's not President Bush or President Obama who drove our economy into the ditch, it's Congress and the Fed albeit with LOTS of help from both administration's Treasury dept's.

how in the world do you expect a stimulus plan to undo all the wrongdoings of our economy in a span of just five months. Obama was the one who warned us that it would get worse before it gets better. Repubs are so quick to blame and bring Obama down...give the stimulus some time. its only been five months.

You ALL are missing the big picture here fellow Americans and Illegal Immigrants. Every four years the common citizen takes out a tube of KY for either the Republicans or Democrats to have their way with us. It is now official, our government is broken. Ever wonder why our schools are in decay and our educational system is producing college level students that can't write a complete sentence or compete with Asian scholars? If you were educated and had any type of head on your shoulders you would realize your elected officials are in it for themselves and the only way they can keep your vote is to keep you stupid and dependent upon them. 2010, 2012 Vote them all out!

There's a reason why Obama's approval ratings are nearing George Bush's: Obama didn't help the problem, he made it worse! It's far enough into the Presidency where all accountability now lies on President Obama. He hasn't done what he promised to do, and he's made matters worse. This is not what I voted for.

The GOP has been beaten to a stand still. They have been whooped in the Senate and trounced in the House. The talent differential is mind boggling. Obama's victory was a landslide when you consider a Jr. Sen. destroyed a Sr. Sen. who is a war hero. And now we are taking over the Court. This is why the GOP is so happy to see that only 70% of the voters said said the president is a strong and decisive leader instead of 80%. You know you are a looser when your only argument for why you should be elected is because the other guys have everything. No matter how good or bad Obama does in office the right will never be able to erase the fact that a Blackman stomped the entire GOP by not only beating a nice clean war hero, but also ushered in a congress with a bulletproof majority! You guys go whooped.

Republicans aren't the only people that don't believe in the Obama stimulus plan. It contains billions in fraudulent spending that have nothing to do with getting the economy back on track. Obama lost my vote on this fact alone, and he'll not get it back unless something changes dramatically.

Is Obama a Socialist? I don't think so, but I'm growing very concerned about how the government wants to move money around to cover such huge expenditures without having any kind of viable plan. While the Republican plan may not have all the details either, Democrats should also admit that Obama's is just as bad. you can't forget either that Democrats were essentially in control of congress for 2 years during the Bush administration. It would be interesting to see when the economy really lost steam, as it was moving along fine for some time. The blame here should be shared. If Barney Frank is any indication of the Democrat competence, then the party is in dire trouble. The man is completely incompetent.

For those saying tax cuts don't work, had better go back and do their homework. This I agree with the Republicans, you don't encourage growth by stifling business. The costs are always passed down to the consumers.

Hey Barb it was Clinton not Bush that signed the trade agreements. You can't blame everything on Bush. The housing crisis was not caused by Repubs it was crafted by Dems pushing housing legislation for low income families. This is a government problem not a party problem. We need to blame them all instead of letting them divide us for their lousy agendas.

FAIR IS FAIR If the Dems same old policy of tax & spend always fails how the hell did President Clinton (who was elected not selected) get us the only surplus this country has ever had? Quit repeating the idiocies of Drugs Windbaugh &cry baby Hannitty who along with the GOP still refuse to admit that Dubya wrecked our economy and that Obama is trying to help the middle class (who Dubya bankrupted ). Bu$h deregulated all the lending institutions and in doing so got them and his buddies in the oil industry richer as the rest of the nation grew poorer. Do you think it was actually an accident? Make sure brain is engaged when opening mouth!

Ken – You forgot one line in your first afirmation:
'Any basic study of economics will demonstrate that as you remove resources from the economy (taxes), those resources are no longer available for productive use (business generating value and paying employees) UNLESS THOSES TAXES ARE USED IN THE SAID OTHERWISE the standard of living for everyone declines.'
Because liking you or not, TAXES are needed. How to keep Army Forces without them? Police, firefighters and such? If the funds provided by those TAXES are misused, then let's find out who was responsible and throw him or her or them in jail!
Besides, TAX CUTS (whom you implicity defends) alone and unsupervisioned doesn't work by themselves. Some of the money is used productively, another part ends up in someone's pocket.

It takes a lot of poor people to support one rich person.

In addition to GIVING $750 billion to their fat, greedy, rich friends, they (your lying leaders) now need to create lots and lots of poor people. They stole your money and they're stealing your job too.

GWB really let us down – he did nothing to educate the masses of gullible idiots who won’t think for themselves.

If the party of NO was still in power the unemployment rate would be at 12 or 13% now. The stimulus is putting a band aid on the bleeding. Republicans and their non-ideas would let the bleeding continue until the blood dried or until the blood ran out.

    @Fair is Fair

So, when Bush was in the White House, were the Democrats the party of No? How many issues were tabled in committee when the Democrats were in charge of them, never to receive a fair up or down vote? To be quite honest, I'm sick of this label. I don't lean so far to the left that I believe this nonsense.

If "NEW" ideas is what you are looking for, then why did you vote for Obama? Exactly what is "NEW" about his policies? Every day I see examples of him continuing a Bush policy, or backtracking on promises he made during the campaign? Both parties at times have good ideas.

To all those Guys who Criticize Obama to be a Socialist:

    1. Go first read and understand the meaning and definition of Socialism.
    2. Understand the difference between a Welfare State and Socialism.
    3. In our Country Capitalism is breeding Criminals.
    4. No Affordable Health Care for Citizens, This is Capitalism.
    5. No Banking Regulations, This is Capitalism.
    6. Bush and CIA lied to Americans, This is Capitalism.
    7. UK has State Provided Health Care, does it mean UK has Socialism?

The Founders of our Constitution never intended that Capitalism should become a heaven for Criminals, Crooks and Scoundrels to becoming rich by defrauding the middle class. Wall Street, AIG, Bank of America, and most Insurance Companies Executives have thrived by defrauding, misleading and embezzling people.

"Gee, I wonder where this country would be if the G-No-P had their way? The financial system would probably be in shambles."

    - you mean like now?

"GM, Chrysler and probably Ford would be shut down and millions more would be unemployed (counting company employees, dealer employees and various small businesses who made a living serving the automakers and their employees.)"

    - you mean like where these are heading now? Thousands are laid off every few days and Detriot is being turned into a ghost town.

"We would probably have massive layoffs in state governments across the country."

-you got me there. thank goodness massive layoffs are happening in the private sector instead

"The gap between the wealthy and the middle class in this country has widened to an all time high."

-right. now we all get to be poor. that's much better

Please, can we get something straight here. To all of you who keep stating that "the last 8 years" is the problem here, let's examine.
The Dems have held both houses now for almost 4 years! The economy, the housing crisis has all come about during this time, while two wars are still being funded (Afghanistan is Escalating). Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac are squarely on the shoulders of Barney Frank and the Dems. There were only 23 Senators who voted against Iraq, that means that the were plenty of Dems on Board. (Clinton, Kerry, Etc.) In the first 6 years of Bushes term, this country experienced it's lowest ever unemployment rate, and fastest economic growth period in history. You house was worth twice as much as today, and this country was a much happier place. So Please, stop with the nonsense of the last 8 years being the problem today. You Dems own everything that is on Obamas table and he's in way over his head. Oh yeah, if GWB spent too much, what do you call it when Obama spends more than all of his predecessors combined? It's time to stop blaming Bush, and the term "the party of NO", that's getting old too.

    @John

A Welfare State is probably a more accurately description of what Obama is trying to accomplish. However, the concept of a Welfare State is still deeply rooted in Socialism.

Your comments are Capitalism indicate that you dont have a grasp on that concept either. Perhaps a class at a local college would do you some good?

"The Founders of our Constitution never intended that Capitalism should become a heaven for Criminals, Crooks and Scoundrels to becoming rich by defrauding the middle class. Wall Street, AIG, Bank of America, and most Insurance Companies Executives have thrived by defrauding, misleading and embezzling people."

No of course not. Nor does it indicate that any form of government should endorse such practices. Are you saying that Socialism/Welfare states don't defraud, mislead, and embezzle? I think your perspective is incredibly naive and ignorant.

To those who are wary about the Dem. plan of stimulus package and to those who favor tax cuts for the rich, just like the Reagan era- Folks, those ideas have produced pathetic performances by the stock market and the fatcat CEOs have amassed a lot of dough much to the chagrin of the common man. If you are happy with bein' poor or mediocre, so be it. Go ahead and support the GOP by all means. You 'll see the results for yourselves.
