Iowa GOP to Palin: Come to Des Moines

The Iowa Republican Party wants Sarah Palin to visit its state.
The Iowa Republican Party wants Sarah Palin to visit its state.

(CNN) - Who wouldn't want a big name to headline a major fundraiser? And the Iowa Republican Party is going after one of the biggest draws right now, Sarah Palin.

As first reported in the Des Moines Register and confirmed by CNN, the state GOP is courting the Alaska governor to be the keynote speaker at their annual Ronald Reagan dinner this autumn. The event is the party's largest fundraiser of the year, and has become a popular stop for White House hopefuls.

Aides to Palin have not immediately responded to inquires from CNN regarding whether the outgoing governor will attend the dinner.

Palin shocked many across the country last week when she announced that she would not only not run for re-election next year, but that she would resign as governor later this month.

The stunning announcement sparked debate on whether Palin's decision would be a benefit or a detriment if she decided to make a bid for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.

Iowa is a crucial state in the race to the White House. The state's caucuses kick off the presidential primary season.

If she follows her usual pattern, first her office will tell Iowa she's coming, then she will publicly deny that she's coming, then her office will ask Iowa to pay for her kids and Todd to come along, then she will deny that she's going, then she will show up at the last minute and be miffed that she doesn't get to speak.

Go have fun in Des Moines Sarah. Ater this month, you'll have alot of free time on your hands. Let them gas your head up that you're qualified to be the POTUS. I really hope that you get the nomination in 2012 so the President can wipe the floor with you. You won't make it out of the Northeast. We really don't like you here!

I love how the Palin posts clear 300 comments in minutes. More than 85% are people saying she doesn't matter and should go away.

If she is that unimportant, stop commenting. CNN and all the rest will lose interest as the views will have shown they have and move on.

Fact is you DO care and love the chance to spew hate filled comments about people. I am sorry you are that upset that you feel the need to do this. I only pray that is where you stop as words from a keyboard. I hope in your daily lives you are not like this to people.

God bless America, her people and her President.

By all means, go to Iowa. Spend lots of time there. Win the Iowa GOP caucus in 2012. Go on to win the Republican nomination if you can.

That way, Obama won't have to work so hard on his reelection campaign and can focus on solving this country's problems.

Aides to Palin have not immediately responded to inquires from CNN regarding whether the outgoing governor will attend the dinner.

Yea, as unually she and her staff will be on different pages regarding whether she will attend the dinner and this is what the Repubicans want on the 2012 Ticket.

Article before this one is Michale Steele
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele dismissed recent extramarital affairs by two prominent members of his party as "old news, old school" at a GOP dinner in Indianapolis on Wednesday night.

What a joke the Repubicans party have really became. The American people will not be so quick to dismiss the Party of the So Call Family Value and the Stupid party that think Sara Palin quitting her government job is going to help her win the White House in 2012.

    Stupid is Stupid does.

The Dems will be in office another 4 years.

I really do believe that McCain rues the day her dumped her on main stream America. It will be very interesting these next months watching the GOP presidential hopefuls, especially Jindal and Pawlenty, distance themselves from the blubbering praise of her they continuously dished out last fall. Very interesting indeed.

What is wrong with you people in Iowa. Why would you want someone who can't speak a complete sentance?
Iowa just lost some points on the respect scale.

sarah palin as we should know by now acts and decides as she pleases- she is not comfortable with people telling her what to think-how to think and decide-
to the contrary, she wants to be in charge–

she may be right in leaving her office for the sake of the state, knowing that she brings controversy–but what i don't understand is why she did not leave her bid for vice-president knowing that she is hurting mccain and the party-what is going on now is expected–her opponents will not let her put the party at risk again in 2012–

Go Sarah, we love you and your family...don't worry about those who are so full of envy and the ugly hate mongers who can not even come close to being the person you are. You know you and your heart and anyone with any common sense can see how much you love this country and her people.

God Bless you and your wonderful family and God Bless this wonderful United States of America..

Sara Palin and Michael Steele are going to be used by the Repubicans Party. Sara Palin could not get any women voters of Hilliary and Michael Steele will never get any black voters.

Sara Palin will only bring in the money and Michael Steele I really don't know what they really need him for becasue no blacks plan on voter for any Repubicans ticket any way.

People want MJ news to go away. Why is this broad still around. MJ visit other countries and is aware of issues abroad more than Sarah. She is the biggest disgrace, country bunken, fish catching embarrassment to the GOP party.
