Johnston: Palin wanted to take the money, 'forget everything else'

Johnston is the ex-fiance of Bristol Palin, the Alaska governor's daughter.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin wanted to take the money and "just run with it," the father of her grandchild said Thursday.

Levi Johnston told reporters the Alaska governor was stepping down early to take advantage of millions in potential earnings. According to the Anchorage Daily News, the 19-year-old said that late last year he heard Palin say "how nice it would be to take some of this money people have been offering us and just run with it, and saying forget everything else."

He pointed to talk show offers and other potentially lucrative deals.

Earlier this week, Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein told the Washington Post that the governor had received "hundreds of credible offers since the campaign," including Hollywood projects, but had not taken advantage of any except her book deal. Johnston said that even the Palin children had been fielding offers.

Johnston said he saw how stressful Palin's job was for her – "how she came home late at night and things like that" – but said he thought " the big deal was the book. That was millions of dollars."

Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton dismissed Johnston's take, referencing his own show business aspirations. "It is interesting to learn Levi is working on a piece of fiction while honing his acting skills," Stapleton told reporters.

This is more likely the reason SP is stepping aside and not the rubbish she tried to lay off on everyone. A republican will never do anything unless there is a bigger pile of money in it for their bank account, come to think of it, ditto for the democrats.

Of course Sarah is only in it for the money and herself. For a good read on how Sarah works, go to Alaskadispatch.com and read "Palin: How she gained control and then lost it". Another excellent article on the quitter from Alaska.

What's awesome is that most people want levi to get deals and such, he never grandstanded about being a part of a higher calling, which is a round about way of saying your better then everybody else, you know those of us with so so callings or , mediocre callings.

Palin is lame and anyone who reads her book is likely to do so in secret . I would make a person leave a barbecue if I heard them say anything in support of her or any tier one republican other then powell.

That was obvious, she cares only for herself, not the country or the people of Alaska. And people who will still make her offers deserve to be taken for there money. She is greedy, and selfish. Her motto should be ME, MYSELF and I. Her speeches aren't good, her grammer is not good, yes she looks good, but there is no substance in that women, and for people still to fooled by her just blows my mind. WAKE up.

Mrs. Palin is an exellent governor. We Canadians hail her oil pipeline idea and if she visits canada she will be welcomed warmly.. If she visits anywhere in the US, she'll have a pie thrown at her face. We in canada are nice... we care about palin.

Levi's probably got it right. Fits in with her complete self-obsession, and tendencies to twist the use of words such as "loyalty" and "service," thus completely emptying them of their meaning.

Good for you. Run with the money and out of politics. I applaud you, Sarah Palin. You will be much better at writing about how the media has wronged you (boo hoo) then you ever were at governing a state. Now go away and don't come back.

    Sincerely,
    America

Oink, Oink! Sarah sold out for money, like a nice little piggie. I hope the wretched individual who is ghostwriting her book doesn't commit suicide after dealing with her.

I'm no Palin fan, but can we please stop putting the microphone in front of this moron? Even if it's true, hearing it from this dweeb makes me feel oily and dirty. Get a clue, scum bag.

This young man and his mother are really out to get the Palin family.
If that is the reason she left, that is her business, is Levi jealous?
Keep him out of the media.

What would posess you to publish the childish ridiculous rants of a spurned boyfriend? You people haved stooped to the lowest levels possible with your coverage of all things Sarah Palin. Being a Republican who probably WOULDN'T vote for her, I am still appalled at the kind of trashy scuttlebutt you publish as news. Spend your time trying to figure out who got stimulated with Obama's "gotta' have NOW" spending bill. I know my company or employees or customers for that matter have felt it.

Levi is a punk! Get a life and a job while you are at it. You do have a child of your own. You are a disgrace. Regardless of how one feels about Sarah Palin, you can't deny that Levi is hungry for media coverage.

He is yet another wannabe celebrity.

I know alot of left-wingers will gobble this up, however, I'm wise enough to know that this Johnston guy feels rejected and unappreciated. That being said, how vindictive and venomous he must feel. He must have been offered something to participate in this smear.
How many of you out there ever felt hurt by someone you loved and may have done or said something you regret out of spite? Seriously.\
When I listen to Gov. Palin, I hear sincerety and integrity backed with morals. She has done so much for her state and country and look how she was treated. And this because the masses just seem to be attracted to negativity. They gobble up every single word the t.v. feeds them.
Anyways, for the embarrassment this woman received and endured, I feel she does deserve alot more than what she has been given.
