Johnston: Palin wanted to take the money, 'forget everything else'

Johnston is the ex-fiance of Bristol Palin, the Alaska governor's daughter.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin wanted to take the money and "just run with it," the father of her grandchild said Thursday.

Levi Johnston told reporters the Alaska governor was stepping down early to take advantage of millions in potential earnings. According to the Anchorage Daily News, the 19-year-old said that late last year he heard Palin say "how nice it would be to take some of this money people have been offering us and just run with it, and saying forget everything else."

He pointed to talk show offers and other potentially lucrative deals.

Earlier this week, Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein told the Washington Post that the governor had received "hundreds of credible offers since the campaign," including Hollywood projects, but had not taken advantage of any except her book deal. Johnston said that even the Palin children had been fielding offers.

Johnston said he saw how stressful Palin's job was for her – "how she came home late at night and things like that" – but said he thought " the big deal was the book. That was millions of dollars."

Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton dismissed Johnston's take, referencing his own show business aspirations. "It is interesting to learn Levi is working on a piece of fiction while honing his acting skills," Stapleton told reporters.

I really don't think it is his business to comment on any of his former future mother-in-law's career choices. I've had bad vibes about this kid from day one. What people would do to get thie names in the print! He is using Palin family's exposure for his personal gain.

all of this coming from a MENTALLY CHALLENGED door knob who couldn't tie his own shoe.... i wonder if he is using the money that he is making off all the information he is doling out to take care of his son or if he is letting the Palin's pay for everything his son needs... Very sad that the liberal machine is basing stories off of what this special individual is spewing

Oh my oh my !! How could anybody treat poor poor Sarah this way. Oh she is always such victim. Liberals are NEVER treated this way.

Better call the media to a press conference and tell every how much you dislke the media and all the attention. And never never forget what a victim you are Sarah. (wink wink).

Sarah Palin's intellectual vacuum and the sucking sound she gives off when her mouth opens does not shock me. That someone of her emptiness almost had a hand on the red button, that scares the bejesus out of me. Is this the level to which the GOP has reached? What a joke. What a public servant! Take the money and run. Disgusting. Please keep reporting on her so the epitaph of the GOP can stay fresh in everyone's minds! What a worthless manniquin!

This situation was predictable, as Palin has never demonstrated even the slightest modicum of ethics. She doesn't care about her commitments to the state of Alaska. Money is Palin's only true god.

So what is wrong. So she is disengenuous? She quit her job to make money. Her options are open. She is who she is. If she wants to run for future elective office the voters decide if this was a bad move, or if she is offered an appointment to political office the onus is on her sponsor. In the end, pundits do not decide whether this was a good or bad move, the people will. For now she is not ready for prime time political decisionmaking, but she is ready for prime time TV. Like all of us, the future must wait.

Sarah is not hard to read. She is just like her teenage daughter, playing grown-up. Sarah wants money and prestige, but she doesn't want to put in the time.

Sure she's okay running the state of Alaska, which is like a city, when no one is watching. But when the glaring light of the press shines on her we find corruption. Who else could get paid for living in their own house?

If their are people who want to buy her book, which will be written by someone else because Sarah can't read or write, that's fine. She'll never get a dime of my money.

This 19 year-old needs to man-up an stop acting like a petulant little boy!
No wonder Bristol left him...very immature and selfish. Unfortunately, unless he does a 180 degree turn and works on being a mature, thoughtful contributing member of society (and soon!), he will end up just wandering through life, waiting for his ship to come in. How sad for everyone, especially for his and Bristol's child.

CNN: It is over! I do not believe that you are running a story from the ex-boyfriend of Sarah Palin's diaughter. There is som much mor eimortant news to write about–what about our troops in Iraq and Afganistan who are in harm's way ever day protecting our freedom?

Please align your priorities with ours!

Should we start calling her "Show Me The Money Sarah"? Her 15 minutes were over 20 minutes ago. The only thing she is going to do is overexpose herself and become a more laughable liability in the process. Stay in Alaska and go fish.

If Mr. Johnson is now working on a piece of fiction, Ms. Stapleton, perhaps he learned the basics of the trade and the rewards it can provide from your boss.

Once again the Republican Party proves that "follow the money" is the tried and true method of discovering the truth.

Money Money, that is what all about for all Republicans.
Crying about Obama's taxes but taxes which rich people pays in USA is only 17% average with all loop hole and frauds schemes.
At last we will have true economy with all this govt. regulation, instead of having these last 8 years of phony economy.
It will take time to create jobs, till we spend all stimulus money including from All Republican governor.

Six, eight months ago, he was the greatest guy in the world. Mr. Reproductive Responsibility (coupled with the daughter's Miss Reproductive Responsibility character). A regular Joe Sixpack. Palin trundled him and the daughter out on stage every chance she got. Now the Palin camp is calling him a liar. So perhaps making this guy go on stage during the campaign was just a wee bit of cynical showboating by Palin. Wow. Imagine that. More political phoniness from the Palin camp.

Hmm sounds logical. Since CNN didnt have so we can post on is Obama snubbing his father's land. I say yes he is. The reason he is scared he will run into family he's trying to forget, you know the ones that live in a shack on a dollar a day.

I'm sure the media will treat this as Gospel the same way it would if this guy came out and said, "Uh, yeah, I heard her say she eats puppies and hates Santa Claus."
