If he were still around, Thomas Jefferson would surely slap your deceitful and disingenuous face for promoting an agenda of more lies, fear, mistrust and elitism. It is your duty to support the Constitution and the people of the Commonwealth. What have you done for us, except political grandstanding to refuse financial support for unemployed Virginians and homeowners in jeopardy of defaulting on their mortgages?

Also, it's interesting to note Cantor's supposing concern for American jobs while advocating the shutting down of what's left of the American car industry and moving the jobs overseas with the millions that were already off shored in the last 30 years under successive GOP administrations.

He SAVED jobs from being cut, like teachers, firefighters, policemen, etc. That was the action of the first round of money out the door, which included tax cuts to 95% of Americans.

This stimulus works over a period of 2 years. No American stupid enough would believe Obama could create a million jobs in 4.3 months (the time since the stimulus bill was passed. It took a long time to get to this point (8 years to be exact).

Obama needs to quit holding back Spain from prosecuting Bush and his cabal. I'm tired of the GOP and their lies, negativity, and zero ideas. Those are the characteristics of a dead party (especially one that is being lead by Rush Limbaugh). These guys think America is stupid and forgetful as to who was in office for the past 8 years.

The economy is probably going to turn around but only when almost all the stimulus is spread to the people and small business...which will probably be around November of 2010 just in time for the midterm elections. Meanwhile, Americans are still suffering now. The idea of the plan was good, but the implementation has been horrible. Not well planned, and not well executed.

I voted for the President, but will not do so again. His execution of this plan as our chief executive has left much to be desired. While the Democrats in Congress and the President will claim victory for this when it takes full effect, the people will have needlessly suffered from the political greed that they thought they rejected last November.

It's also telling that the accusations brought against Obama are precisely the errors of the previous administration. Pork-barrel spending, massive waste. Scrambling to play games with numbers. A case of the pot calling the kettle black.

How this game of accusation in the mirror can go on mystifies me. It's transparent to everyone except the people doing it.

Republicans could begin to earn a shred of dignity and recover some influence, if they would roll up their sleeves and get to work rather than digging in their hells and throwing tantrums in the media.

I'm guessing that folks still wondering when the economy is going to turn around even think that maybe Sen McCain, who admitted knowing nothing about the economy, and Gov Palin, who doesn't seem to know which way is up, would have done a far better job than Obama right now. If any of the GOP moaners would care to look at President Obama's past speeches he did indeed say this would more than likely get worse before it got better, that the unemployment
numbers would go up and I never remember him saying after being in office for 7 months that everything was going to be rosy. But the only hope the GOP has is to put fear in the minds of the uniformed and so far from some of the posts I see it it's working.

BUT, if that turns out to be the case, why the hell should we believe that the Republicans have the answers? If they did, they could have and should have used the six years when they controlled every branch of the government to fix things. But now they expect us to believe that they are the party of fresh ideas and effective solutions?

In 2012, if we're still in the same mess we're in, I would like to think that Americans will recognize that it's time for a strong third party, because by then, both of the major parties will have shown themselves to be ineffective and simply playing politics instead of finding a way out of this disastrous economy.

When the GOP stops misleading people by being disingenuous for their own political gain, maybe they can become serious as a political force. But so long as mental midgets like Eric Cantor continue to represent their leadership, the country is in for a long period of intellectual darkness.
