Palin PAC raises $730K in six months

Sarah Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, has raised close to $730,000 since the beginning of 2009.
Sarah Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, has raised close to $730,000 since the beginning of 2009.

(CNN) – Just over a week after announcing her intention to resign as governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin's political action committee reports raising close to $730,000 in the first six months of the year.

According to a report filed with the Federal Elections Commission Monday, SarahPAC raked in $732,867 from the beginning of the year through June 30. The former GOP vice presidential candidate's PAC further reported more than $450,000 cash on hand with no debts owed.

The FEC report shows the majority of contributions, $420,000, has come from donations of under $200. By law, the PAC does not have to identify those contributors. More than 700 individuals meanwhile gave over $200 to the committee.

But Palin, who has pledged to spend her days out of the governor's office supporting conservative candidates, has yet to dig deep into the coffers for many candidates.

According to the report, the PAC has only made two political contributions this year: $5,000 to John McCain's Senate reelection bid and $5,000 to Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski's effort.

Palin's largest expenditure, just over $100,000, was to Virginia fundraising firm Edonation.com.

    Palin sure does sell!!

I find it very very very funny that a Palin post will goo to 300 in minutes, 85% of people ripping on her. If you want her to go away, stop giving attention and CNN and others will stop giving her coverage. You just can't stop yourself though can you? :-)

God Bless America, her people and her President

Yet the ethics violations investigations keep rolling in. Some even from CONSERVATIVE watchdog groups.

Palin's political career is over, will never be a viable candidate again, yet the money is coming in. Looks like the recession is not effecting the Republicans. Also, they haven't bothered to come up with an alternative economic plan. So, it looks like they have nothing to complain about.

"The former GOP vice presidential candidate's PAC further reported more than $450,000 cash on hand with no debts owed"

I was under the impression that she formed this SarahPAC to help her pay for her legal fees and other debts; now there are "no debts owed"? I missed something while on vacation....obviously.

All I see is 730,000 reasons why it's still acceptable to hate someone who is of a different faith or of a different race than you in the United States of America.

Sarah Palin has proven to be nothing more than a spineless bigot who fed upon the fears and bigotry of her supporters. The fact that there are legions of people who live by her every word is a sad reflection of the nation's intellectual standing in the world.

Palin's rise in Republican politics will simply confirm the shallow, divisive, anti-American agenda of the neocons. The Democratic party will be the beneficiaries, as the majority of Americans will realize how little the Republicans have to offer.

She is so IR-relevant. Please CNN let me know when she falls off the face of the earth. That would be news. Until then, I'm not even going to comment.

    Let's do the math

    $730,000 / $200 each person = 3650 donors.

Yep, out of 320,000,000 people in this country, she's a shoooooo-innnnn for President (2012 thru 2014-1/2).

Go Sarah Go. You have to give it to her. It might have been strange, but it was the best move she can make. Now she will be paid, and can become a King Maker.

So, she has paid of her legal fees. Does that mean she is going to change her mind and "unresign" as Gov? Wouldn't surprise me in the least. The woman is a liar and a quitter. Interesting that the costs of her ethic legal issues is a lie. She included the salaries of state attorneys who get paid no matter what their assignments are. Any one who chooses to donate to this fool needs their head examined!

When Sarah Palin runs for president I wonder how she will answer the following question? "What will you do if things get really tough and you start getting critizied for your job performance?"

  16. CNN Obsessing with Palin AGAIN!

What is it with CNN's infatuation with Palin?

If they love her so much, why don't they write something positive on her? Is CNN becoming like the papparazzi's?

CNN is the New National Inquirer.

Gee, I hope Alaska's former governor buys some books on international affairs so she doesn't have to stay in tree tops doing surveillance on the former USSR. And when I hear the "KAJING" of that cash register, I'm reminded that SOME men and women serve the country in public office for noble reasons - not cash.
