Palin PAC raises $730K in six months

Sarah Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, has raised close to $730,000 since the beginning of 2009.
Sarah Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, has raised close to $730,000 since the beginning of 2009.

(CNN) – Just over a week after announcing her intention to resign as governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin's political action committee reports raising close to $730,000 in the first six months of the year.

According to a report filed with the Federal Elections Commission Monday, SarahPAC raked in $732,867 from the beginning of the year through June 30. The former GOP vice presidential candidate's PAC further reported more than $450,000 cash on hand with no debts owed.

The FEC report shows the majority of contributions, $420,000, has come from donations of under $200. By law, the PAC does not have to identify those contributors. More than 700 individuals meanwhile gave over $200 to the committee.

But Palin, who has pledged to spend her days out of the governor's office supporting conservative candidates, has yet to dig deep into the coffers for many candidates.

According to the report, the PAC has only made two political contributions this year: $5,000 to John McCain's Senate reelection bid and $5,000 to Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski's effort.

Palin's largest expenditure, just over $100,000, was to Virginia fundraising firm Edonation.com.

$750,00? That's great maybe she can pay for an education! Knowing her she'll buy to more helicopters for wolf hunting though... too bad she could use the education!

So, any bets on how long it takes this item to get to 300 comments?

CNN, I know you get loads of comments on every article, why not post at least 300 one each despite how the comments pro/anti administration seem to be trending?

  10. Hoping for an intelligent female GOP candidate

So she raises $730,000 in six months, while two candidates for Senate in Pennsylvania raked in over 2.6 MILLION in 3 months. If this insipid, ignorant, ignoble female is SO GOSH-DARNED popular and viable as a future presidential candidate, why did her PAC raise so little compared to two candidates for senate? Pat Toomey raised more than twice as much in half the time!

Yeah but they ONLY gave her $5,000 of this PAC money. What's wrong with this picture? The only reason she raised that money was because of ALL the Ethics Complaints coming her way.

So let's hear the Palin PAC give her the entire $730K. Compared to what President Obama can raise, it's not even considered pennies.

The Diva needs to keep most of that money for cloths just in case.
You never know when you'll need to send a couple hundred grand for a few things. Plus how much will it cost her to get a clue!!!!

  16. Ain't life strange?

Palin's decided to support Republican candidates yet she's only given 5 grand to the man who believed enough in her to appoint her as his running mate. Friends like that help to teach you how to pick friends. Every time I try to give Palin the benefit of doubt, she does something that makes me wonder about the kind of person she really is. I know... I'll probably be labled now as a Palin basher. Then, tell me this... what do you call a person running for office who stands by and listens to the hate, loathing and physical threats from her supporters and not tries to correct them? I certainly couldn't support that belief... how could anyone else? It's uncivilized.

She can raise the money becasue her base are rich white people which loves her dearly, but she needs more than her base and more the money to get her in the White House. She has no substance just looks.

But Palin, who has pledged to spend her days out of the governor's office supporting conservative candidates, has yet to dig deep into the coffers for many candidates AND THATS BECASUE SHE IS A LIAR AND WILL SAY ANY THING TO MAKE THE NEWS.

I hope Palin makes tons of money and I wish her the best! I have never seen, in all my years, the ugly, nasty way the media has treated anyone like they have her. You people have some serious problems and are total hypocrites too.

Well, I hope she enjoys it - it could be the last that is donated to a quitter -- honestly, to quit over having half a million dollars in a PAC fund ' because it's a lot of money for a small town Alaskan girl' - just shows how shallow she is. She no longer has the political clout she had as Governor - now she's just a little quitter.

Set your stopwatches - it's only a matter of time until some of this PAC money is used to build a Palin house in South Carolina or Virginia. A tiger can't change its stripes.....

She is keeping the rest for her 2012 run for the President! She lied about the reason she set up her SARAHPAC. Well can she use it to pay off her legal debt?

Aren't there any other REALLY worthy causes? Why anyone thinks this woman is worth any money is beyond me.
She's a failure as a mother, politician, sportscaster, mayor, student, governor and vp candidate.
She's a low class losser and quittter.
Sad to see how many other losers we have in this country.

Remember back when McCain first picked Palin, how she wasn't ever allowed to do any interviews or talk to any press? Yeah, that was nice. I miss that.
