Palin PAC raises $730K in six months

Sarah Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, has raised close to $730,000 since the beginning of 2009.
Sarah Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, has raised close to $730,000 since the beginning of 2009.

(CNN) – Just over a week after announcing her intention to resign as governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin's political action committee reports raising close to $730,000 in the first six months of the year.

According to a report filed with the Federal Elections Commission Monday, SarahPAC raked in $732,867 from the beginning of the year through June 30. The former GOP vice presidential candidate's PAC further reported more than $450,000 cash on hand with no debts owed.

The FEC report shows the majority of contributions, $420,000, has come from donations of under $200. By law, the PAC does not have to identify those contributors. More than 700 individuals meanwhile gave over $200 to the committee.

But Palin, who has pledged to spend her days out of the governor's office supporting conservative candidates, has yet to dig deep into the coffers for many candidates.

According to the report, the PAC has only made two political contributions this year: $5,000 to John McCain's Senate reelection bid and $5,000 to Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski's effort.

Palin's largest expenditure, just over $100,000, was to Virginia fundraising firm Edonation.com.

Just goes to show you a sucker is born every day. In the case of rich Republicans, every minute! Please Santa! Let Sarah Paling win the Republican nomination for President! The Dan Quayle of the current Republican Party would guarantee Obama re-election! Sorry Steve. Far from squirming. I hope she wins. I plead that she wins. I pray that she wins!

  3. Thin is in?

Wait a minute, I thought the media puppet Obambi was the only one who could get small donations from REGULAR folks?

Wait a minute, I thought she was finished?

Wait a minute, she is dumb (even though she is twice as smart as your genius and caught LYING many times VP and plagarist Biden).

Wait a minute, she HAS run a business, a city and a state, while your bumbling President has never run ANYTHING but his mouth (with a teleprompter).

Wait a minute, Obama was only a community organizer and spent less than a year as a Senator before running for President and when he did try to do his job he voted present over 150 times.

Wow, what leadership skillz he has, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh as in "it's not my fault", "I want to vote present" or "I want to apologize for the last 200 plus years".

Is Palin ready, not a chance, but neither was this "community organizer".

    Four and the door Barry.

If Palin was ugly we wouldn't be having this discussion at all.
JM would never have chosen her for VP and this complete & utter waste of time would have have occured.
God – there are so many more important issues to be worried about – I for one am concerned about my kids future education, affordably health coverage etc.
Anyone who actually supports SP is as brainless as she is! It's so scary that she would have any supporters at all. A very sad, depressing reflection on the state of this country on SOOO many levels!

    "destined"

Interesting... she's so opposed to "liberal" economic philosophy, yet as Governor she seized oil company profits, and redistributed them to Alaska's citizens, as well as raised taxes on corporations.

She'd make a great GOP candidate... say one thing (I'm against big government), do another (Seize oil company profits, raise taxes, and redistribute wealth).

    Can you say Golddigger?!

I'm betting that after Sarah Palin has raised enough to cover her legal expenses, she will suddenly experience a catharsis and decide that for the betterment of the party and country she will not run.

Any takers on the Right? I didn't think so.

All the Libs are so very nasty and nervous over Palin.

It's a telling sign. CNN, as usual, keeps bringing up these stories that are just blowing smoke.

Why do you keep feeding the "media conspiracy theory"?

  16. We Love Sarah

There is a saying, "That if you dry and roll up poop somebody will smoke." Well, there are a lot of Sarah Palin (SP) poop smokers out there.

Funny how most of these SP poop smokers would not accept hiring a teacher who quits her job because the students were difficult to deal to a higher position. Yet, the SP poop smokers somehow believe that she would do a better job governing with 300 million people when she could NOT do it with slightly under 700,00 people.

Folk, "STOP SMOKING SARAH PALIN'S POOP!"

jennifer, Have you ever watched the "fox" network? If not, check it out and you will see plenty of hate, negativity, ugliness, nastiness against President Obama and his wife!!! It is funny how the conservatives talk about the Dems talking bad about Palin, but if you really check it out, the repubs/conservatives say just as many nasty things about Paline too.

I DO remember watching ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC and listening to NPR and saw and heard plenty of hate, negativity, ugliness, nastiness against President Bush and his wife.

Maybe now she can take her kids – paid for – on trips. Hope they do get an education which she lacks. That money won't go very far the way she likes to spend it.
And nobody tell me that our President is spending money on his family. He is making a salary – and he is not charging the US for having his family with him. Even if he did – it is money well spend.

If you neocon idiots succeed in getting this woman elected as POTUS, you will plunge this company into more of a mess than it is now. You think people hated Bush at the end of his term. She will be lucky to not be run out of the country by an angry mob.
