Too bad that Sen. Kerry fell victim to the GOP "swiftboating" attacks in the past., he would have been a great president. Our country wouldn't be in the poor state that it is had Kerry been elected instead of Bush. Oh well. Now, we've got an intelligent President at the helm and I observe a mover and shaker like no other before. It's about time! But why does the GOP not want to advance our country?!? Hmm...could it be about money? I agree with Kerry that it is good that Palin stepped down. There is no place for conniving idiots within our society of circa 400 million people, not to mention the rest of the world. Sorry to be so hard on you Sarah, but sign the books and do your TV show. Is this the very same John Kerry whose office received a hand delivered letter on May 7, 2001(4 months before 9/11!) from retired FAA special agent Brian Sullivan?

Mr. Sullivan warned John Kerry in his letter about Logan International's exposure to a coordinated attack and also warned Kerry about the ineffectiveness of the DOT OIG as an overseer of the FAA.

John Kerry's response 4 months prior to 9/11? He forwarded the letter to the very office he was warned about, the DOT OIG!

This is the same guy who has the nerve to crawl out from under his rock now and criticize Sarah Palin for sounding the alarm on a very dangerous energy plan!

Actually, both are wrong (and right) environmental health and climate change are the most important crisis facing future generations. it is especially dangerous because as a gradual change happens, we will not notice change until its too late.
On the other hand the cap and program is fundamentally flawed by benefiting polluters with deep pockets and newly developing economies such as India and China, who will create most of the worlds pollution in the next few decades.Our developed economy does stand to suffer under such a program.
This is one of those situations that requires a gumbo of multiple resolutions that can be evaluated and combined to find the best solution. Unfortunately the cult of personalities that make up our political strata will continue to attempt to undermine the other while feeding their own self worth. Meanwhile the rest of use will be working hard to improve our societies, our lives and our world.

A battle of wits between Palin and Kerry? Palin comes to the fight unarmed. This was a bit like shooting fish in a barrel for Sen. Kerry. Gov. "Cut and Run" Palin is used to tangling with much smaller opponents in Alaskan state politics. She would be wise – who am I kidding! – to pick her fights a little more carefully. And does anyone actually believe that she wrote a 700 word op-ed piece? Especially one that is coherent and has subjects and predicates which actually agree? She hasn't read anything that long in years and she can't even spell op-ed.

The effects of global climate changes brought on by a warming atmosphere could have such a profound impact on animal life in the state of Alaska that the predator-to-prey ratio could be completely disrupted. Predators could die off in such large numbers that Governor Palin could find it increasingly difficult to go out and shoot wolves from a helicopter; an activity she has not hesitated to endorse.

The fact that John Kerry would pen a well thought out rebuttal to Sarah Palin's op-ed piece makes me feel good as a guy with a political science degree and one who considers himself intellectually honest, even honest enough to admit my biases.

When Palin submitted her op-ed piece on Cap & Trade, most of the comments were your typical astroturfing nonsense about her not being the real author and such.

The fact of the matter is Palin stimulated debate. Kerry responded to that debate in the arena of ideas, an area so infrequently visited by liberals who are more into the Alinsky rules and the smear campaign.

While I disagree with John Kerry on the issue, I commend him for entering the arena of ideas with Sarah Palin and participating in an important discussion.

It's a far cry from joking about her disappearing. It's also a big step back up to where a U.S. Senator ought to be.

Please, please stop giving so much coverage to Sarah Palin. The more the media covers her, the more it motivates her base. She is an opportunist at best, and and a moralist who tries to label people who studied hard enough to be well educated as elitists, but I wonder how she'll be able to connect with Joe six-pack once she settles her debts and has the kind of money she is used to slamming people for having.
It's amazing that she thinks she takes the moral high ground, when most of us who can think for ourselves, and, yes, those of us who actually learned to think and read, understand her to be a 'bully' in a tight skirt.
She complained that she was treated badly because she was a woman, but has had no trouble using her looks to get ahead. After all, is there anyone without a Y chromosome that doesn't understand
who she is?

Please, let's keep the record straight. The "I can see Russia from my house" quote was not created by Tina Fey. It was a direct quote from Sarah Palin during the last presidential campaign. And for God's sake, Sarah Palin does not have any locus standi to criticize anybody on policies because she does not have any intelligent grasp of any serious issues. For a woman who has abandoned her mandate to run a state, to now criticize the president of the united states just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. So, I now urge Mrs. Sarah "I-AM-NOT-A-QUITTER Palin, to please go quitely and stop insulting the sensibilities of the american people.

Kerry is living in a dream world. Cap and Tax and National ObamaCare will drive a stake into the heart of an already damaged economy. The "millions of green jobs" touted by Obama and his teleprompter are no more real than the 3 million some jobs Obama claims to have "saved" in the last 6 months. How do we pay down a national debt with all of these massively expensive programs coming down the Obama legislative highway driving this year's deficit to nearly 2 trillion dollars? That's 2,000,000,000,000.00 dollars. Just crank up the printing presses and add a few zeros to the budget. After all what's a zero anyway. A zero is nothing, of course. That's the only kind of "logic" that could possibly explain the brain dead calculations of goof balls like Kerry on Capitol Hill.

My Gosh, just look across the world and take a poll of every scientist, and I'll bet my last dollar, the overwhelming majority of them agree we have an ongoing climate change situation here. Even, if we didn't, I sure don't see the logic of humanity helping to filthy up our planet by going the same old route by using fossil fuels. I want a cleaner planet for my children and their children, etc. That's why we need to knuckle down, get these scientist in the R & D labs and work on clean renewables and vastly improve Wind and Solar technology. People like Palin, and other closed minded or Exxon dollar minded individuals need to open their eyes once and for all!

Check the final "comment count" here then compare it to the articles *without* Palin. CNN isn't stupid. YOU are if you think so. Besides - you have to 'provide' a story for there to be one. Are Obama's daughters unwed and pregnant? No. Are his 'in-law' people talking about him on talk shows? No. Are his 'in-law' people breaking into homes or selling drugs? Since I lived in a much larger state, I did not fall into the governorship. In any event, I am/was not qualified to be VP of the USA.

John McCain's desperate attempt to change the dynamics of the Presidential contest elevated her to the national scene. What you saw is what you get. Except for the right-wing wackos, no one in their right mind would want her anywhere near a powerful position in our government.
