Well we need a solution which does not use carbon based fuel. If Ms Plain is going to use the oil under Alaska for the energy usage then we are going the wrong direction.
We need to use energy that is carbon free. Lets use Wind Solar and waves as energy sources to solve our problems.
Ms Plain needs to get some concrete ideas before some of us will listen with interest. Right now her chat is like a Gnat's buzzing in our ears.

I'm not sure why anything Mrs. Palin says could significant to our country. It is very clear where her loyalties lie, especially considering how she simply gave up trying to be governor of Alaska to focus on becomng ever more popular (how could this happen?), hoping to run for President in 2012. Anyone who believes she is making comments/statements in order to better our country is simply fooling themselves. She is not qualified to comment on any legilation any President would offer.

Palin didn't write anything, and CNN knows that. She let her name be stuck on a position paper written by some anonymous hack from the oil lobby.

Furthermore, cap-and-trade started out as a Republican alternative to actually forbidding dangerous industrial practices. And now, even this compromise doesn't suit them.

Ah well. She'll be our president soon enough.

The only economies alternative energy will affect are fossil fuels and those whose income is based stritcly on keeping with the status quo, and that's okay because they're so last millenium. It'll also affect the budgets of states that rely solely on gas & oil for industry dollars. The best time to start moving away from this filthy, environmentally damaging scorge, and into cleaner, renewable alternatives is before there's none left to fight over. Only ignorant fools would disagree. Granted, people who work in the oil and gas industry will be required to retrain for other jobs, but we've all had to do it.

How can politicians say this is a jobs bill? Yes, I guess if they want to say creating Green Jobs, but you can't ignore all of the other ones that will be lost. The only other industrial nation with a huge green economy is Spain, and they've lost 2.2 jobs for every green job that has been created, and that's the system that Obama has said is the model for where we want to go.

China and India, who emit far more 'greenhouse gases' than the US have no intention of doing anything similar or anything to curb their usage. And we can't harp on China because, once again thanks to Obama, Pelosi, and the same bunch of idiots, the US needs China to buy its debt. We're screwing ourselves royally, while AlGore the Hutt laughs all teh way to the bank.

Hopefully by the time enough people wake up and realize this is all one big myth, there will still be enough of America to recover.
