Clinton, Biden in 2016?

Hillary Clinton on Wednesday did not rule out a 2016 presidential run.
Hillary Clinton on Wednesday did not rule out a 2016 presidential run.

(CNN) – It appears that two high ranking members of the Obama administration haven't entirely ruled out seeking the presidency again.

First, Vice President Joe Biden said last month that a third White House bid in 2016 - when he would be 73 - is not something he has completely closed the door on.

"No, I won't. I won't rule that out. No," the vice president said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Now, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who battled President Obama for the 2008 Democratic nomination, told a Thai television station she doesn't know if she will have White House ambitions in the future, though quickly made clear it's not something she has given thought to.

"I don't know, but I doubt very much that anything like that will ever be part of my life," Clinton, who would be 68 in 2016, told the television station, according to the Associated Press.

"I tried to be the president and was not successful," she added.

The group of candidates that the Democrats fielded for the 2008 election was not fantastic, but it was solid. The group of candidates that the Republicans put out there was an embarrassment to the nation. Republicans tend to prefer mediocrity in their leadership – I suppose so they can be easily manipulated by the large corporations.

there needs to be new blood to run for the WH in 16. These two candidates are stale meat and neither one is worth the nomination for prez.

68 or not, I'd vote for especially after what I see coming down the GOP pike. Churchill was in his 80's during his last tenure as British P.M. It's not age, it's mental condition. Look at Roberta McCain. She has more smarts than Sarah Palin at twice her age.

Either one of these two, or both running together, for that matter, is far greater than anything the Grumpy Old People will come up with.

    I hope she reconsiders.

I still believe the country would be in a better place if she had won the nomination and the election.

President Obama has done nothing to convince me that he is a better man than Hillary...

It"s so important for the Democrats to hold control of the White House thru 2020. We need ample time to recover from deregulation, selfish and greedy decisions like Iraq and to regain our sense of dignity thruout the world.

  8. It's Only Been 6 Months

I have to ask the question: Based on what was left to this President and his administration from the Bush White House, how quickly did you expect Obama to make the United States better? It's only been 6 short months people. Bush all but disappeared during the last months of his Presidency and left us all in the toilet....

Right wing loonies on the run again.

No point in even discussing 2016. If you want to waste your time, come up with who will lose to Obama in 2012. Huckabee? Palin? Romeny? Pawlenty?

Spew all you want right wingers. Obama is making moves that will move this country forward in the future. Something your side knows nothing about. Even though you would prefer Wall St or the HMOs run the country.
Why not pay attention instead of just coming on here and spewing a couple of inane comments (ie, phoenix86).

CNN is quickly becoming the most misleading name in news. This article is ridiculous....the headline misleading..Just because you put a question mark behind something is no excuse. I also feel CNN is blowing the racial profiling story way beyond what it is to help create buzz for thier special tonight. Timing is everything..CNN you should be ashamed of what you are becoming.

We voted for Obama in the last election (primary and general), but my wife and I are becoming more disappointed on a daily basis. At this point, we would give our support back to Hilliary in 2012... We probably should have never taken our support away from her...

  19. Common Sense

Obama will be so disliked by 2012 that most Dems will not vote for him and forget about the independents. The big problem is that no party wants to place another candidate on the slate instead of the incumbent. If Hillary is the Dem candidate instead of Obama, the party loses the black vote really quick, and without them the Dems cannot win. Barry will be one one-termer no matter how you measure it and the Dems may not see the Presidency again for a long, long time.

Can't some of you not see that Obama is working for middle class and poor americans. This is the first time you have a president who does not look at lobbyist but put the American people first. you better support him. You will never get one like him again. It is Israel that has bankrupted America. Their ,lobbyist were crawling in every room during the Bush Administration. The whole world respect Obama. No other president in the future will get that trust from most countries in the world. We see him as a fair and honest man who puts his
country first but whose vision reaches the end of the world. Obama can buy his own health care and that of his family. He is fighting for you lot to have better healthcare.

Everyone....look at your words...your comments in but this one minor story.

What is going on with all of you? Regardless of your likes or dislikes of any candidate, you're all so frothing at the mouth with hate and anger that you're losing decency and integrity. You're making no sense and offer no hope for making life better...just griping about anyone and everything.

Have a position but dump the viciousness and rage.

Have a comment but it's long past time to get over this child like whiney attitudes and commentary.

This is the very thing that will tear America apart.
