First on the CNN Ticker: DNC blasts senator in new ad

The DNC is taking aim at DeMint's comments.
The DNC is taking aim at DeMint's comments.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – The Democratic National Committee is blasting Sen. Jim DeMint for his comments about President Obama’s health care plan in a new television ad that will begin airing Thursday here in the nation’s capital and in South Carolina.

Speaking on the issue of health care, the South Carolina Republican recently said "if we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo.”

DeMint immediately came under fire from the president’s supporters and now the DNC has cut a 30 second TV ad against the South Carolina Republican. DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse would not specifically say how much the DNC was spending on the ad, but did offer it was in the “five figures range” and that it would air in the Columbia, Greenville and D.C. markets.

This question and answer session is nothing more than a sales pitch and most of the media outlets are catering to him. How many prime time press conferences have been granted to this president since January? More than the last President had in 8 years. This is nothing more than liberal propoganda being shoved down the throats of idiots who feed on it. Those who think he is the mesiah are not going to love him more. This just shows that he owns the media and that is very, very scary. Shame on any network who airs this hard sell tactic. Supporting a dictator and their takover tactics is un-American.

Apparently republican senators need to spend more time with history books before making ludicrous statements. Is this guy aware what Waterloo actually was? It was the final battle between an already hugely unpopular dictator (Napoleon) and an overwhelming coalition against him. The comparison of that with the current health care fight is laughable at best. Especially in light of the fact that at the same time republicans are cowering in the corner about the Sotomayor confirmation. Perhaps when a huge coalition tramples Obama and ousts him for good then we can make the comparison.

I don't think anyone has to say it, it's evident that obama's inexperience in management shall show itself all too well and be the waterloo of his own making.

The DNC isn't helping itself by dignifying every idiotic remark from republicans with a response. Just ignore them!

The GOP cares nothing about health care or the American people. All they want to do is to stop the President. Typical GOP, they lost and lost big and they just can't accept that the American people overwhelmingly rejected them. So now, all they can do is say No, and the American see that too. They have ideas, no plans other than saying No.

DeMint represents the republican parties agenda.
Destroy Health Care Reform, destroy our president, destroy our
country and destroy the American people, especially middle class.

There's nothing wrong with wanting Obama to fail at destroying our economy, national defense and health care system. Republicans are correct that keeping Obama from implementing his socialist policies will be a defining moment in the party's comeback.

What is the mind set of the people of SC. Their Gov'nor is a admitted adulter and self centered weirdo, Graham is a GOP puppet and now DeMint hoping that millions of uninsured stay that way so it will cause Obama to fail as our President. Wow love this "new south" ideal and family values stuff they do not live by,
What happen to love one another and values etc , it certainly is not part of the existing GOP! This is getting patheic with all this I hope you fail crap , this is so childish. I am sick of this party and will not vote for another Repub again ever.... they are to much like the uppity Pharasees of the New Testament!

Too bad the DNC has to lie in their commercial. Their healthcare scheme will crush small businesses by making it a mandatory cost to our business. It is going to put my business in a bind in already tough times. I guess the easist thing I can do is layoff the employees with Obama stickers on their cars first since they were so big on wanting change.

Doctors order tests and prescribe meds based on double blind studies and statistics. Doctors are not so fearful of lawsuits, they are fearful of the cost of malpractice insurance. Malpractice insurance is based on statistics of of law suits files. Law suits are filed by lawyers. Most memeber of congress are lawyers. Insurance rates would go down if there were caps to malpractice law suit awards. But the lawyers would loose money if there were caps. See how this works!!!!

"Ok. What a total waste of money. Just as childish as the two ad's the RNC released recently."

No, it's really not. The RNC was playing the parody game with misinformation and fear...altho I have to admit that the parody of a big pharma commercial was probably the first time they've ever donce something remotely clever.

On the other hand, this ad highlights that a, if not THE, major motivation behind many of the GOPers' efforts to block the health care reform efforts of the Obama administration is a partisan desire to derail Obama's presidency in preparation for 2012. It shows that their analysis is wholely without merit, entirely full of partisan malice and devoid of substantive, rational analysis of the needs of the American people and the bill itself.

DeMitt is truly DEMENTED. I find it very odd that Republicans don't seem to have any clue when it comes to solutions. ALL they seem to do is complain and attack about everything under the sun. The sad part is their attacks have NO MERIT whatsoever.

I find their motives to be very questionable and lacking in credibility. IF Republicans like Mitch McConnel, Orin Hatch, John Boehner and others in the GOP truly HAD A SOLUTION, where is it? What's taking so long? WHY complain now? Why haven't you implemented them 8 years ago? Because Republicans KNOW what they've proposed has NOT WORKED. They DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, so all they do is complain and tell the American people NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO.
That's ALL they ever do. They don't care if its in the BEST interests of the American people and the country, they just don't care, its not important to Republicans. They would rather BURN the house down then simply just turning off the gas line. It's really sad, selfish and vindictive beyond words.

DNC and Barack Obama are cooking something which is not published by the media. Anyway American people are suffering and they will teach them lesson. Bring it on. You can advertise and spend money as it is plentiful. I wish we could use that money to bring up our economy. DNC ab\nd Barack Obama are idiots. They just want to attack Republicans. Thank God we have senator like De Mint who are trying to open our eyes and ears.

Where was the outrage when the Dems bashed Bush consistently, I guess it okay for the Dems to be critical but according to them they are all perfect and know all the answers.
I see so often Republicans referred to as the party of "NO". I would rather have it that way then the Dems saying "YES" to everything Obama wants including the massive spending that is going on. Why the big hurry to get this bill passed??? I believe we need some kind of health care reform but I want them to get it right the first time, this is a rush to judgment and I don't like that they are considering abortion coverage in the package. I would like to see them tell a Catholic Hospital they have to provide abortions!!!!!

I'm hoping that Obama is forced out of office after his first term. as a lifelong democrat his election and performance since being elected have been huge disappointments. Too bad we can't throw him back and try for a bigger fish.

Isn't that what the Republicans have been praying for all along? For the President to fail so another Republican will become President. Let's see how that happens. They are all racists for attacking this guy the way they have and enjoying every bit of it. I can understand the disagreement on many parts of this legislation but for someone to pray for the President to fail is outrageous. The bible said let him who thinks he stand be careful let's he fails. When you pray for someone else's failure, you are four times praying for yours. For the evil that men do lives and follows after them.

Health care is my personal Liberty. If I can't afford it then I better take care of myself. and not get sick. this is pure tyranny and slavery to
steal money I have earned through honest effort and give it to people, who have not earned it. You had better back off Washington. The F22 was defeated by shortsighted fools. China is building the biggest conventional force in the world. We better concentrate on the future defense of this Nation instead of Socialist Welfare for the helpless. The weak do not survie in the Real World. If You are young better stop these Fools in Washington. Read the Constitution, Northwest Oridanance of 1787 and You will see the States formed the Government for protectioin of Your freedom not its tyranny today!
