The DNC will launch a new TV ad Friday taking aim at Republican critics of President Obama's health care reform plan.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – The Democratic National Committee is launching a new TV ad Friday that takes aim at GOP critics of President Obama's health care reform plan.

"What's the cost of not reforming health care?" asks the narrator in the 30-second spot. "Premiums rising faster than your paycheck. Insurance companies dictating more and more medical decisions. Denying you coverage while their profits soar."

"Tell Republicans the cost of doing nothing on health care is just too high," continues the narrator, as pictures of Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, South Carolina Sens. Jim DeMint and Lindsey Graham, and conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh flash on-screen.

It's the second DNC ad in a week to treat DeMint as a major target, based on his comment that the failure of a Democratic health care reform plan would "break" the president.

The ad buy, which will run on cable television nationally and in Washington, DC, will be a minimal buy, running in the tens of thousands of dollars, according to a DNC source.

Full script after the jump

What's the cost of not reforming health care?

Premiums rising faster than your paycheck.

Insurance companies dictating more and more medical decisions.

Denying you coverage while their profits soar.

The cost of doing nothing means rising co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses. Families faced with paying the mortgage or paying for health care.

But some leading Republicans, playing politics, have vowed to kill reform.

Tell Republicans the cost of doing nothing on health care is just too high.

There is no health care reform opposition. There are simply people opposed to this specific reform proposal. There are a lot of ideas out there but BO is determined to push through a plan with government control. But then he's the guy who doesn't play politics.......LOL!!!

Obama spent an hour on prime time last night telling lies to the American people (see NY or LA times articles). Now the DNC is taking out ads to defend the lies.

Not the change we hoped for, but the change we've come to expect from democraps.

The GOP mantra is: DENY, DELAY & DO NOTHING!
This is your wakeup call America.....it's about time we as a whole country talk about healthcare reform regardless of whcih party owes big medicine, big hospitals, big drug makers , the special interests, lobbyists......they don't own us and we owe them nothing America.......so lets talk about it and scare them politicians and put them on notice when they all come home and start the endless campaigne of empty promises. This year belongs to us America not the political hacks in Congress.

And the cost of doing things quickly without thorough review and debate can be astronomical in comparison.

I would rather congress take their time and get it right then have a bill rushed through for the sake of meeting some artificial deadline.

Talk about scare tactics... the Dems are running with it full steam ahead.
Glad to see a few of them actually looking at the numbers for a change and not the political side of it.

I believe that if Jim DeMint is running anytime soon – that a political action committee supporting a three legged dog should be formed. and that every person – not counting any of his supporters- should contribute $5.00 toward the election of this dog. DeMint is one of those cult members who lives in the same house a sEnsign.

If the cost of doing nothing is just too high, do something, but do it the right way. Nowhere in the Constitution is health care listed as a right. Add an amendment to the Constitution to make it one, and then pursue reform. Just because you pass a law doesn't mean it's Constitutional.

I am a Dem and they want to blast me for being concerned??? Concerned about cost? Concerned about not actually covering everyone (which is what they originally wanted)? Concerned that they are moving WAY too quickly? Are they TRYING to get me to switch over to the Repub party??? Let's not shoot ourselves in the foot here, Dems!!!

And I do wonder what cost will actually be higher... The cost of doing nothing? Or the cost of doing something stupid??? At least for my family, the cost of doing something stupid will more adversely affect me...

Bankrupting America just to "DO SOMETHING" is not the answer. Obama, Pelosi and Reid are out of control.

the problem is some of the DEMS are motivated by MONEY and some of the DEMS arent. the reason why republicans all vote the same is because THEY ARE ALL MOTIVATED BY MONEY!!!! THATS the problem with the dems. so you can be happy with it, but when the american people end up in the toilet and the empire falls you can thank the RICH, CORPORATE LOVING POLITICIANS!!!! the dems might not be perfect but the solution defintitely is not YOUR bunch of losers.

What is up with all the republicans pretending to be democrats posting blogs here? Operation Chaos II? We are ramming healthcare for all Americans down the throat of greedy folks in D.C. And yes it had to take a stubborn black/white President to do it.

For over 40 years we've been crying health reform and now it is too soon?

Mark my words healthcare bill will be passed this year as a christmas present by President Obama even it means adopting the reconciliation strategy!

    GOP doing nothing, huh DNC?

    How 'bout:

    H. R. 2520: The Patient's Choice Act of 2009

    or

    H. R. 3218: Improving Healthcare for All Americans Act

Ever heard of those, DNC? Nah. It's too easy spreading the manure on thick for your robots, yes?

Look, if you don't know about these bills, and several more addressing the issue of healthcare with free market solutions then I suggest you trade-up on where you get your information.

The will backfire on the Democrats. In fact many of the people I know who voted for Obama, want Congress to take their time and make sure this is done right. Why must it absolutely have to be done by August 1? Makes me think he's trying to sneak things past the taxpayers.

In the 1800's if you couldn't pay the doctor maybe you could barter something of value. But it wasn't free.

Lets make this Public Option truly optional. If you are in need of medical coverage and want to sign up, fine we will help you out. In return you must give us something of equal value.

THE CAMPAIGN IS OVER!!! Obama...do YOUR JOB. Fix the ECONOMY....Create JOBS. This is all about expanding government and gaining more power...it has NOTHING to do with healthcare. The Democratic party is out of control. The American public is SCREAMING to stop this...not the Republicans. 70% of the American public is AGAINST the Democratic program. You cannot have control of the house, the senate and the white house and blame the Republicans. Obama is out spending millions and millions of dollars CAMPAIGNING for healthcare reform to get control of our healthcare industry and he should be focused on creating jobs and getting people to work. The only person playing games here are the Democrats. Nancy Pelosi...DO YOUR JOB. Stop attacking and fighting and grabbing all the power and money you can get your hands on. I say get rid of these bums next election.

Get your marketing funds ready DNC becuase there are a lot of people that thinks this health plan is a loser.

By the way Obama ought to have delved into the plan last night but instead gave no real information as always. If you wanted a better idea of what their plan is last night was another worthless media love affair. Healthcare is going nowhere.

Great! And it is about time too. We've got to do something about healthcare or it will sink this econoomy worse than the subprime mortgage mess. Any potental small business entreprenneur must first answer the question "Where will my healthcare come from if I start a new business amnd how can I hire anyone without taking care of them? Fix that problem and there will be more small businesses and more hiring and a growth rate we have not seen in years.
