(CNN) - Sarah Palin, who has kept a relatively low profile immediately after stepping down as Alaska governor, stepped back into the limelight with a visit to the media capital of the country.
The former Republican vice presidential candidate - in town to meet with the publisher of her upcoming book - dined Tuesday night at New York's storied media haven, Michael's Restaurant, with a group that included husband Todd and attorney Bob Barnett. The party - which arrived without a reservation, according to Michael's Manager Danny DiVella - requested a table in the front of the restaurant. A crowd gathered outside to catch a glimpse of the group through the window.
This morning, a jeans-clad Palin was spotted on 5th Avenue and 55th Street with her husband and daughter Piper, carrying her baby son Trigg. There has been no announcement of when her next public appearance may be.
Palin's first public post-resignation comments came at a National Rifle Association event in Anchorage over the weekend which did not include reporters.

Sarah Palin is a citizen like all of us and has the right to visit New York to take care of her business just as anyone else can. that is what makes our country great. If you libs had a brain you would be checking out why Obama is taking those things away from us – right out from under your noses.
I'll vote for her if she runs in 2012 just because of her looks. Come on, if she runs against Obama, that man don't have a chance. Obama can preach as much as he wants, but Sarah can tell you some good bed time stories.

Isn't this wonderful. Traveling to New York to talk book talk with her publisher on the money people donated to her political action fund. Didn't I hear her say she was going to leave the Governor's office so she can do better for Alaska? Did she finally realise that leaving Alaska is the best she can do for the state? Or maybe she's going to donate her book sale earnings to Alaska to help them out economically. Go Sarah, go! I hope to see your name on the ballot in 2012. Then it will be eight years for Obama for sure.
She is soooooooooooo stupid. One minute she bashes the media and the next she's jumping in front of the camera. As one person wrote, she "has insulted our intelligence one last time."
A lot of you say you don't care anything about the lady. Why then do you read and hang on every work written about her. Even about this you are a bunch hypocrites. But then what's knew for the democrats? Same old, same old, they never change. Three and a half more years and this fiasco will be all over, thank god. My only concern is that this country of ours will probably be in bankruptcy by then, since there seems to be no fiscal responsibility and the administration seems hell bent on ruining this country by spending money we don't have and without any possible way of raising it. We can't afford Obama's pipe dreams and those of you who think it will work apparently are as empty headed as he is.
Of course she requested a seat in the front of the restaurant - so everyone could see her. And what a surprise that she had Piper and Trigg with her. She'll trot those poor kids out every chance she gets. I'm sure there was a good reason for her to take them to New York when she was there to talk to her book publisher. Yeah, right.

With luck she and Todd will be mugged while they are in New York. It's the least the city can do for the queen of trailer trash family values.

The funniest part of this story is that they reported that she was drinking champagne. I thought she was the role model for the Fundamentalist Christians? I have a bunch of fundamentalist family and grew up in that enviroment........they DO NOT drink. Yet, Palin is their role model. Interesting.

Palin is a terrible role model for young women and you uneducated soccer moms who love her nonsense "folksy" behavior are complete morons. Our country we will the laughing stock of the world (yes more than when coke head Bush was in office) if this 5th grade educated joke of a woman is elected to any respectable position. The GOP knows she is a joke and had to make a drastic choice to match Obama and they did, but America could see through the make up and speech writers. I would love to see her wink at a foreign leader and get punched right in the face.

Sarah is publishing a book so it's only natural to create a "buzz" with the media - very smart. Rather than run her down, look at what most of you elected. If you think this stimulus plan is going to work you're nuts! After the depression is extended, we'll be going from huge spending and low interest rates to curbed government spending and high interest rates. It amazes me that every comment is about running people down, including each other. I, for one, hopes Obama's plan works for everyone, but historically this type of plan doesn't work - just prolongs the agony. Let Sarah rest in peace.

The other funny part of that evening is that she called a Politico reporter at 10:45 pm to let him know that she was in NYC. He states, on Politico, that her asst called and said he could ask two questions of Sarah. Desperate for attention, much?
Here are the questions I would have asked:
1. Why are you calling me so late?
2. Are you drunk?
Since they have reported that she was drinking champagne, I'm gonna guess that was a late night-I've had too many drinks–phone call. You all know what I'm talking about.
