(CNN) - Sarah Palin, who has kept a relatively low profile immediately after stepping down as Alaska governor, stepped back into the limelight with a visit to the media capital of the country.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate - in town to meet with the publisher of her upcoming book - dined Tuesday night at New York's storied media haven, Michael's Restaurant, with a group that included husband Todd and attorney Bob Barnett. The party - which arrived without a reservation, according to Michael's Manager Danny DiVella - requested a table in the front of the restaurant. A crowd gathered outside to catch a glimpse of the group through the window.

This morning, a jeans-clad Palin was spotted on 5th Avenue and 55th Street with her husband and daughter Piper, carrying her baby son Trigg. There has been no announcement of when her next public appearance may be.

Palin's first public post-resignation comments came at a National Rifle Association event in Anchorage over the weekend which did not include reporters.

    blarf!
this just in, all the news that's fit to print – the pitbull with lipstick, the hometown hockey mom, the thrilla from wasilla painted the big apple bright red. sweet sarah & her brood spent all day shopping on 5th avenue and all night denouncing the upper westside for their acceptance of homosexual. alaska's former numero uno then appeared in time square unexpectedly, attacking the city's strict restrictions on firearms & challenging any member of the media-elite to a good ol' fashion throwdown.

Is that it? Palin in NYC? Nobody cares! Apparently, she thinks she's still relevant. I guess if you're one of the mindless sheep that followed her and the old guy during their campaign, then she's relevant. Other than that, stay in freakin' Alaska! What's that? THEY don't like her either?

It amuses me about how she's always bashing the media and saying leave her alone but then she REQUESTS A TABLE IN THE FRONT OF THE RESTARAUNT!!!! There's nothing like letting the media take pictures of you while you're eating to drive that point across.

Like or not...Sarah Palin is a force to be reckoned with. For her global perspective? No. For her grasp of world events? No. For her intelligence? No. She has intellectual leprosy.

She is a force to be reckoned with because she is the voice of thousands who believe that ignorance, racism, religious bigotry and prejudice are acceptable in the United States of America in 2009 as long as you justify with your Conservative Christian Faith.

Ummm... why is this being reported on? We know the dunce exists, and that's really all this "story" is saying. "Palin currently somewhere in the world at this moment!"

If there's a confirmed sighting of Bigfoot somewhere, then report that. If it's just Palin... who gives a hell? Stop giving the moron attention, and maybe she'll go away.

It's shameful the way this woman has been demonized. It's a disgrace that women in presidential politics have to be treated so dreadfully. First it was Hillary, then Palin. Aren't you liberals proud of your sexism.

I think the vernacular is DRAMA QUEEN, showing up in a media hangout wearing red?!? If she had any decency she'd be wearing a trench coat and dark glasses and going by a pseudonym. GO AWAY SARAH, and stop covering this bimbo.

"All you liberals blaming our current problems on the Bush administration are, once again, IGNORANT. You have no intelligence when it comes to economics, free market dynamics, and most of all capitalism. So..I really don't expect you to understand HOW we got here, and WHY your radical president is not only making it worse, but he is doing so by deceptive means with EVIL intentions."

Who knew the disintegration of the GOP would provide this much comedy?

Hilarious! The one guy declares everyone ignorant about economics, then starts talking about the antichrist as if that's a real person.

"You idiots know nothing about the Constitution! You believe all kinds of nonsense! You probably don't even know that unicorns are allergic to flouridated water!"

    Sometimes Republicans are TOO funny!

Once again the libs showing just how afraid they are of Sarah Palin. Heck, based upon the last 200 days, Obama, Pelosi, and the rest of the libs should do the right thing and quit.

Nice to see you big, smart, grown-up libs afraid of someone like Sarah. Run along now cyrbabies, your Obama/Pelosi sponsored mob is getting together to go to a townhall to show your support for this farce of a healthcare plan.
