(CNN) - Sarah Palin, who has kept a relatively low profile immediately after stepping down as Alaska governor, stepped back into the limelight with a visit to the media capital of the country.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate - in town to meet with the publisher of her upcoming book - dined Tuesday night at New York's storied media haven, Michael's Restaurant, with a group that included husband Todd and attorney Bob Barnett. The party - which arrived without a reservation, according to Michael's Manager Danny DiVella - requested a table in the front of the restaurant. A crowd gathered outside to catch a glimpse of the group through the window.

This morning, a jeans-clad Palin was spotted on 5th Avenue and 55th Street with her husband and daughter Piper, carrying her baby son Trigg. There has been no announcement of when her next public appearance may be.

Palin's first public post-resignation comments came at a National Rifle Association event in Anchorage over the weekend which did not include reporters.

I thought she despised the media and thought they were being unfair towards her. Now she's seeking them out. Make your mind already!!

Sarah is real, Sarah knows real world problems, Sarah will be a factor in the GOP. Sarah causes the Washington elite to quake in their boots. after all this country was designed by the founding fathers for regular people to be in public service, not the wealthy class.

CNN reports on Palin in NY but cannot bother to report on Obama asking for snitches on free speech. This is after years of complaining about supression of free speech and big brother. What a bunch of hypocrites! This story is worth more than Palin in NY.

I don't understand her... she keeps lambasting the media, yet every chance she gets to sit, stand, or babble in front of a camera, she runs to it...

I have tried hard to avoid all things Palin related including reading or commenting on these stories. I have to admit that I did not read this story because as I said I am trying to boycott all things Palin. If more people would do that and not post hundreds of comments on these blogs or buy her book she would fade into the background where she belongs. Please people stop the Palin frenzy. That is the only way to get rid of her. If she doesn't get attention she will go away. No I am not afraid of her just annoyed at how uneducated and tacky she is. Keep her out of the news. BOYCOTT PALIN,

Okay – here is my theory. She will pull a Liberman switch and become an independent then stay close to republicans so that come 2012 she can be used (for a price of course) to pull in independent voters. In the meantime she is out to make as much money as possible (UGG) to fill her coffers so that when 2012 comes (and polls show she has voter support) she will tell the RNC to kiss her behind.

the most telling aspect of this story is that Palin "arrived without a reservation, according to Michael's Manager Danny DiVella — requested a table in the front of the restaurant, as a crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the group."

of course she wanted a table in front...how else would she bask in the lime light?

If Sarah Palin EVER runs for any public office again, it will prove that her excuse for resigning from the Governor of Alaska position was a lie. Despite her whining, ALL public officials are put under the microscope, scrutinized, and unfortunately, lied about. I don't hear President Obama whining over the ridiculous, flagrant lies spread about him personally, as well as his policies. STOP COVERING PALIN!

Go lay down, Sarah. CNN keeps on giving minute to minute coverage to all things right wing whose antics and subversive methodology that border on treason.

Yah – she comes all the way from Alaska to lecture the Big Apple on restricting weapons!? Just what we need – a few more guns in our big cities. So Sarah packs up her hubby, kids, and her kids kids to come and tell us that? Sorry Sarah, but slam the media, then try to slither back into the limelite? – It ain't gonna happen.

When is CNN going to get back to news?
They should change their name to Cable National Enquirer.
I'm ready to start watching Fox to get away from this incessant fluff.

I see that ACORN has their full staff on duty with their misspelled words and ebonic language posts. Call her dumb or a quitter, keep it up. You will eat those words soon enough. They called Reagan dumb and a B actor. Look at the mess he had to clean up after Jimmy Carter. Now that we have Carter Jr. in office, her mess will be bigger to clean. The New Democratic Party (Culture of Corruption) = George Soros, ACORN, The New Black Panther Party, Code Pink, Rev. Wright, etc. Talk about wacko's, nut cases, extremists, and socialists. Your messiah's poll numbers are falling faster than Rielle Hunter's panties. Oh, and another Democratic lawmaker is convicted with cash in the freezer. I smell your toast burning in 2010.

Still dragging her kids around with her? Are they her security blankie? People who are out there doing politics don't drag their kids with them! We know she NEEDS Todd because someone has to prompt her. She is soooooooo pathetic! I just can't imagine any state, much less the country, putting her in charge. She has a very short attention span.
