Employment figures improve

(CNN) – The nation's unemployment rate fell slightly to 9.4 percent in July, the U.S. Labor Department said.

The figures beat most expectations.

It would be nice to see the components of this. From what I have seen, people are giving up their job searches and going on the dole. That will improve the Unemployment percentage as well.

Wonder what the repubs will say to this. I know they have to be scrambling. The Tarp is working, banks are paying back money, the market is rebounding, cash for clunkers just produce 22,000 new fuel efficient vehicles bought in like 2 weeks. All the repubs have left is to incite riots at town hall meeting.

Why were 637000 people moved to out of the workforce?
I got curious when the job losses were 247000....but yet the rate went down.........is this a bookkeeping trick?

The mumbers will improve a lot more when people are willing to accept their new realities. I have friends, out of work for a year who will not take jobs offering the same or less than they were making before the economy went south. I call it the Supermodel syndrome, they aren't getting out of bed for less than, whatever their number is. They are the same ones who will complain they can't pay their credit card bill and it's the companies fault the interest rate is so high. I want to slap them, and say snap out of it.

The bad news is the ship has already sunk, the good news is that it isn't taking on more water. That's the obamatron and state run media spin. What about the trillion dollars the obmatrons gave to ACORN, the unions and George Soros? How come they haven't refloated the ship? There is the question, somebody should ask it and then listen to the lies of the captain that was elected by the dope smokin' non-working, Oprah watchers.

Boy thats a relief. I sure can feel it out here. Corporations are just running out in the streets to spend $$ like never before with Obama in charge. As the Statist in Chief he sure like taking over automakers and Banks and castigating ever other business that makes money but those corporations sure are nice to have around when you want to work.

    "The figures beat most expectations"

Imagine what this President could've accomplished with a healthy economy, and a "normal" presidency. Even with all the dribbling hoopla from the rightwing nuts we would've been sailing, and trendsetting instead of trying to catch up from behind.

You're doing a great job Mr. President. The majority of Americans voted for you and support you. Stay steady.

EVERYONE is stressing and GRADNG President Obama and yet – not paying attention to what is happening. The economy is getting better! My job was SAVED as the result of the stimulus package! The housing market is getting BETTER! Unemployment went down! Have YOU notice the WORLD is being HEALED – It’s not just AMERICA! The auto industry is Better – and the JUNK YARD dog is eating.

While the HATERS keep HATING they will be the ONLY ones left standing! When you COUNT how many are left standing, it will be the MINORITY!

  21. Excuse me?

What? Only two sentences to show that the President's plans are working? Shame on you CNN. With Lou Dobbs and Glenn Beck on your payroll, I guess I should expect this. I'll continue to watch MSNBC.."the REAL place for politics." How you can still employ Mr. Dobbs is beyond me. In a "real world" he would be fired for his inflamatory ramblings. He would be better on FAUX news.
