We're pointed in the right direction, but unfortunately there are still special interests holding us back.

A majority of Americans elected Obama to bring about health care reform, a green economy, and intelligent foreign relations.

Now comes the long hard work of getting it done, despite the obstacles and the critics.

Still a long way to go, but this last report is a good sign. Next month may be worse, much worse.

Conservatives would do well to stay away from the stock market until the crash comes, meanwhile, the Liberals have put in their money since February. Won't they be sorry when the market crashes. A real conservative make sure they take all their money out of the market. After all, capitalism is secondary to conservatism.

Today came proof Barack Obama is the antichrist. It is basically what his name means in old Hebrew.

God Bless you Mr President but your agenda has hurt more than helped. The real number is close to 10% unemployment due to people giving up hunting for a job. Things will get bettter but it will take time as you have said. Just keep blaming it on Bush since we know you are afraid to own anything other than the Unions.

It could be headed in the right direction but all signs point to not heading in the right direction. Thanks for the great leadership.

Yes we can ! Move on America......unite behind our hardworking president to regain our position and power in the world arena. United we stand but divided we become beggars to upcoming super powers. Soon we will beg from Brazil.

Not sure what "direction" Obama is speaking about. One of our sons was layed off, as well as his wife, and he took a job at 1/2 of what he was previously earning after 20+ years with one company. He did not want unemployment or welfare. Does this mean recovery? Do they just count the number who apply for unemployment and not take in consideration what decent, hard-working people will do to support there families? Taking any job to provide the best they can for their family?

GOP created the mess in the past 10 years and now blames the solution.
The Cash for Clunkers Program is needed to replace those unhelpful members of congress who want our economy to fail in order to fulfill their political agenda.

They have government run insurance as members of congress but call Socialism when it come to provide the same advantage for American People.

There are some positive signs in economic recovery such as new home sales, stock market, unemployment rate falls, and car sales.

We still have a ways to go, but I feel confident with Americans working together with President Obama; we should be headed in the right direction.

    God bless America

Where are all the people apologising, for saying yeterday, that we would be at 10% and it would be all President Obama's fault? Oh, that's right, they don't care about the facts, just their hatred of the President. Actually, the numbers are much lower, because all the high school and college kids that flooded the job market last month, creating a false spike in unemployement, are heading back to school. Next month will be even better and then what will the hateful say?

Yes the economy is beginning to show signs of recovery. President Obama has done a good job. On CNN today many states are seeing job recovery due to the Recovery Package. And for you conservatives who just don't understand you cannot turn around the disaster that occurred in the last administration in 200 days.

Could any of you Republicans explain why the Bush Administration did not include in the Federal Budget the trillion dollars for the war in Iraq? Just curious!

President Obama is what is right and will be a fix for many years so we do not get into the same situation. We support our President. Please do not listen to Rush, Fox news, Hanity and Culter. They are anti american.

    to YBM and MJ:
This small positive movement in unemployment may not be affecting your family individually, but can you look at the overall change as being positive?

And just how does this prove Obama is anything but a good Christian, working for the good of all of us. He was named by his parents. He did not adopt a Muslim or a Hebrew name for himself.

    Numbers Don't Lie, People Do.

    You can't deny improvement.

Go Obama! Keep up the great work. Slowly but SURELY we will ALL get through this!

Yes the economy is turning around because of important "Changes" the Obama Administration has put into action. Moving away from trickle down economics, putting in place regulation and oversight of Wallstreet, Banks, Auto Industry and the IMPORTANCE of passing health care reform. I want to thank our hard working Administration for making our Country and its Citizens future so bright.

That would be awsome if the economy is getting better with only about 10 to 15 percent of the stimulus having been spent.
If the economy get better with only a small portion of the stimulus having been spent, then the remaing unspent $500 plus billion can go to paying down the deficit.
Will Obama do that? Not a chance. Even if the economy gets better with only a small portion of the stimulus being spent he will insist on spending the rest. In fact some from his administration were suggesting today that a second stimulus would be a good idea.
How can the Obama adminstration both brag that the stimulus is working and at the same time call for a second stimulus that would increase the deficit. Good luck selling that to the American people.

Now comes more desperate efforts by the Right to try and derail any of President Obama's successes. Quaking in their Grade D boots (remember the grades?), they will continue to try to block, disrupt, and prevaricate their way to "victory". Problem is, no majority wants what they offer. Mean, fearful little men who don't know how to do anything but obstruct, will continue to have no ideas of any merit.

If you were being honest you would realize the dems held the Congress for the last 2 years of Bush. So now are you telling me they (the Dems) had no hand in creating this "mess"?
