GUADALAJARA, Mexico (CNN) - President Obama said Monday at the North American Leaders Summit he is committed to "fix the broken immigration system."
The three North American countries depend on their borders being safe and secure, Obama said, adding that he supports "orderly and legal" migration, while respecting the American tradition of welcoming immigrants.

You're telling me. 25-30 million illegals certainly seems to scream "broken."
Then again, maybe it's not broken, but working as intended. It could be that someone wants them here.
I say put the onus on the country of origin of illegal immigrants. For every illegal we find in the U.S., the country of origin needs to pay us $5,000,000. Any who do not pay have all trade with the U.S. shut down. Since most nations benefit from trade with us, at our expense, this will help cut down illegal immigration (in whatever ways their countries of origin see fit to enforce), while improving our trade balances and adding revenue to our coffers and reducing expenses.
Why don't you just come out and say that your pushing a North American Union. All you have done so far is push the infrastructure of this country towards just that with the money spent on roads and bridges. You and your cohorts want to eliminate the borders. You want to start letting the trucks from Mexico roll right across the border. So much for the sovereignty of this nation. We as Americans need to stand up and say enough is enough. The politicians have lied about everything. They have crippled Social Security, Bankrupted the Country, destroyed our standing as am nation. the Democrats in particular are directly responsible for the state we are in. President Clinton to Barney Franks and Co. to lower lending standards so that people who could not afford to got loans. They all knew. Get rid of all of them
Obie might make a change . . . but he does not know the correct thing to do. Anyone can still come to America and become a citizen . . . that does not need fixing. The fix ix is to uphold the current laws and illegals need to be put out of the country. The laws are available, but making changes to the law is not the solution. Obie is already not suporting the laws . . . therefore, he is also the illegal on this item.
I don't think it's our job to put the world to work and let our own suffer without jobs. I think Mexico should do more to promot jobs in their country. They stop illegal immigration by putting them in jail for 10 years. We plan on rewarding them?????

The American people want our borders secured before any other considerations are given to those that are breaking our immigration laws.
