Cafferty: Are you interested in Palin's views on health care reform?

(CNN)–First she called Pres. Obama's health care plan "evil" and said it would create "death panels." Now Sarah Palin is urging restraint at town hall meetings.

In comments on her Facebook page, the former governor of Alaska (who quit in the middle of her first term) says there are many "disturbing details" in the health care bill, but that "we must stick to a discussion of the issues and not get sidetracked by tactics that can be accused of leading to intimidation or harassment."

Palin suggests the disruptive protests "diminish our nation's civil discourse", and says opponents shouldn't give supporters of health care reform any reason to criticize them.

This is the same woman who a few days ago was spreading a false claim that Pres. Obama would force the elderly and disabled to appear before a "death panel." She said a group of bureaucrats would get to decide whether people like her parents and her son, who has Down Syndrome, could get health care.

There's no such provision in the bill. Gee, do you suppose she didn't read it? Rather, a House committee passed a provision that would let Medicare reimburse seniors who want counseling on end-of-life issues. Once again, Sarah Palin's version of reality is at odds with reality.

Whatever the reason, Palin backed down. See, she wasn't getting much support. Several Republican governors distanced themselves from her, either refusing to comment or saying Palin could "speak for herself." Not exactly the way to build that right-of-center coalition she keeps talking about.

Cafferty, when you and others in the media report on all-things palin you give her comments some form of legitimacy. Sarah Palin is irrelevant and what she has to say should not even been reported. I guess it's a slow news cycle and she makes for a great laugh. Get back to real news reporting and journalism. You all in the main stream media have become no better than the tabloids rags in the supermarket. You all need to take a look at yourselves and see if you have you sold your souls to the 'devil' for ratings? When will you and others exhibit some integrity and flex some a moral compass in your reporting. You all have become part of the discourse and problem. Just report the "real" news.

Not so much. She has yet to enlighten us about anything else.

I don't know what qualifies her to talk about anything. No matter what she talks about, I never sense that she really knows the issues. And the language she uses is convoluted to the point where she doesn't make sense.

Its quite unsettling that someone with such little to add to the public discourse gets so much attension. Her views and her statements from when she was a VP candidate until this day have at best painted a picture of an under-informed official and at worst someone who is using her influence to incite hatred instead of discussion.

Sarah Palin backpedaled so fast on that first statement that it should really terrify everyone - how is it not obvious yet that this woman will say anything about anyone just to keep the spotlight on herself?

Her "opinion" isn't even what she really thinks, it's just what she thinks will get her name on the news again.

Sarah Palin needs to go away. This woman is the epitome of what's wrong in American politics.

Has Cafferty read the bill? I doubt it. IF he did then he would know what Panel she is talking about. Gee Cafferty can you read something before commenting.
Oh and how powerful is this lady. She sits at home probably with her 16 month old son in her lap, goes to her private facebook account, sends out 3 paragraphs and has the enite MSM heads doing an Exorcists Scene. Wow I wish people paid that much attention to my facebook entries.

I hope the new health care bill treats people with bi-polar disorder. Her current treatment obviously isn't working

I didn't like her in the beginning and I don't like her now. She has no idea what is going on. Can't believe she even tried to speak on this issue. She needs to stay home & read up on some thing before she tries to put her 2 cents worth in.

No, palin is a misrepresentation of the system, who is only interested in personal gain. We the people is tired of her negative remarks towards our President.

No. The Republicans have continued to ignore the facts. Sarah Palin is just a puppet for the right to confuse its base into being angry enough to vote in 2010. She wants civil discourse? then quit adding fuel to the fire. Last I heard, she was getting her own talk show, so why should anyone take her seriously?

Palin is the most ignorant politician I have known about any issue and she blurts out a lot of non-sense on critical issue like the health care. An ignoramus idiot.

She is dangerous to healthy American discussion. I wish she could have a more positive influence, but she too often is peddling the hate that Rush, Glenn and Sean seem to thrive on. Trying to incite riots – as a citizen I could be arrested for that. Why are they so special?

People are getting all riled up by Sarah Palin, the various misleading commericials on TV (Including CNN), viral videos, etc. Let's get all the facts in full context. It causes many of us concerned citizens to want to disengage from the process.

No, but then I don't care about her view on anything! I would value the opinion of a 12 year old over Palin, after all her intelligence level isn't above a 10 year old. Don't let all those big words fool you!

Clearly, if there were death panels as Palin claimed, President Obama would require that Republicans be in line first.

Watching Sarah Palin in politics is the equivalent of viewing the weekly NASCAR race. You never know what lies around the corner and you look forward to watching that next crash. She's unpredictable and entertaining.

How she ever got to be a state governor is incredible and speaks to the state of politics in Alaska. How she ever got within ear shot of the White House is absolutely mind boggling and speaks to the judgment of John McCain.

This is one person I wish would just disappear. Since she values her family so much, why doesn't she focus her attention on them for a change? One of her claims for qutting was that she wanted her family out of the publice eye, but look at her statement. She uses her family/kids as ploys or props yet want no one to criticize the very subject that she brought up. She is just a waste!!!!!

Palin has no clue what she is talking about as a VP candidate, Gov., Mother, or citizen. She needs to read a book somewhere and at least think before she speaks. That would be helpful to her.

no this lady has no idea what she is talking about. It is fun to watch her make a fool of herself though. She brings it on herself.

I'm not interested on Sarah Palin's views on anything political. She is clearly out of her league and expertise. She'd be much more suited to a talk show. I wouldn't watch it, but I know there would be lots of people whom would.

I might be more inclined to listen to her views on any subject (as I am always interested in learning about opposing points of view) if she managed to make a speech, Facebook post, or twit...excuse me, tweet, without deliberately spreading false information (false information mind you, not a different interpretation). I'll start giving her opinions a little more credit when she can do that AND not bring her children into the conversation so we can be spared her hypocritical hand slap about attacking her oh-so-not-public kids.
